Indonesia Today! ‘Great and Good’ Pose Cheerfully with IslamoNazi Fuhrer!
From the left – General Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama, KH Said Aqil Siradj; Jakarta Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama, Djan Farid; Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly, Taufik Kiemas;
General Chairman of the ISLAMIC DEFENDERS’ FRONT (FPI) HABIB RIZIEQ;
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Marzuki Ali; and Chairman of the Jakarta City Council, Irman Gusman.
Here we have some of the most powerful and influential men in Indonesia posing cheerfully for a photo-opportunity with an infamous Islamonazi bigot.
It’s rather as if the Speakers of the House and Senate and senior church leaders joined the Imperial Wizard of the KKK for a happy snap at Christmas!
Now it might be the case that they all showed up separately, and of course they are all entitled to celebrate the day however they want. But nobody could have forced them to line up together like that.
Would you want your picture taken with a rabid sectarian gang-leader? Why did they?
God help Indonesia! All the more so as the reason for the photo’s appearance was to show readers a likely candidate to join the Cabinet of President SBY.
That man third from the left, Djan Farid, is not only a Member of Parliament for the PPP, the same party as super-bigot Minister of Religious Affairs Suryadharma Ali, and not only the Jakarta NU Chairman, the NU being, of course, ‘Indonesia’s leading Muslim moderate organisation.’
Had he not been lured to Cabinet rank- as of today, he’s Minister for Public Housing – he had plans to run for governor of the capital!
One is known by the company you keep….?

Cenrte-stage for the Fuhrer, a sad reflection on this country. When i first came here, a long time ago, it was very tolerant.
I left, for quite a few years, then came back, and it wasn’t so tolerant. Away again, for five years, and back again, to find that now its not recognisable, visually, yes, but socially, no.
You didn’t mention that Taufik is also the former First Gent, husband of President Megawati, and you praised her the other day.
Who wears the pants in that household?

I missed this one the other day, because you are producing so many newsposts so fast!
Don’t know what Mega will say about this to Taufik, but he has never really been known for his consistent style, except as far as looking out for his own benefit.
I did like your post on the Ahmadi Minister of Religious Affairs – pigs will fly, too.
