Sectarian Cess-pit Aceh — CHRISTIANS MUST WEAR HIJABS!

I am moved to post again on the nonsense often talked about head-shrouding.

  • The Sharia Hell of Aceh!

    The Sharia Hell of Aceh!

  • Tonight I was horrified to get home from town and read that, in the hellhole called Aceh, aka the ‘Verandah of Mecca,’ the police-state gendarmerie operating there has escalated their bigotry to a truly IslamoNazi level.

The Wilayatul Hisbah (shariah enforcement police) ares now telling Christian and other religious minorities that THEY must don the jilbab (hijab, Islamic headscarf) and not come out in public without that badge of sexist second-class citizenship shrouding their pretty heads.

Samsuddin, the head of Aceh’s Sharia Police Enforcement Office, said they should have been wearing the hijab as a sign of respect in the only province in Indonesia to enforce Shariah law.

Yes, as Untermensch had to respect the Herrenvolk

This matter of scarves is purely an affectation, NOT a religious obligation, as can be seen on any walk around Jakarta, where 90% of the population is Muslim, but only a minority – sadly an increasing minority – hide their lovely black hair with jilbabs, the local word for hijabs!

I was actually preparing a post on scarves, my renewed concern exacerbated by this headline in one of the Malaysian media, which is surely inaccurate.

World Hijab Day, a day of pride for Muslim women around the world

http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/features/article/world-hijab-day-a-day-of-pride-for-muslim-women-around-the-world

A source of po-faced self-righteousness, yes, for SOME Muslim women, just as a penis-sheath may be a source of pride for SOME Papuan men.

But certainly not all of them.

  • ———————————-
  • If it were a source of ‘pride’ eagerly embraced by Muslim women, why, in some countries, do they need to be forced to wear it?
  • It IS sexist. Otherwise, if covering one’s head, or even just one’s hair, is pronounced a mark of devoutness, why are men not similarly required to do so?

  • And how dare these ignorant Islamist goons in Aceh order non-Muslims to do so?

Clearly the hijab is a form of discriminatory and sexist subjugation. If Muslim women are prepared to thole that, sad, but so be it.

But how can any woman feel proud of that?

And how can any honourable man seek to impose it? Needless to say, honourable Indonesians, including sane Muslims, are as outraged as I am.

One leading rights campaigner in Jakarta, Bonar Tigor, spoke out.

“I call for the government not to continue such a policy. It will be a problem if other regions follow such an example. For instance, what if a majority Christian region such as Papua forces its residents, whether they’re Christian or not, to wear crucifixes. This kind of policy is not appropriate to be implemented in Indonesia.”

He said that Aceh’s special autonomous status should have limitations. “They still need to obey the constitution and should not violate human rights.”

So will President SBY uphold Indonesia’s Constitution, or will he just make some comment and relegate it to his fanatic Islamist Home Affairs Minister, then sit back and wait to see what happens, as has happened with his Government’s refusal to enforce the Supreme Court ruling in favour of the persecuted Christians in Bogor?

  • His term of office is soon to end. Surely he does not want history to recall him as the President who let his country go quietly into the nightmare of iniquitous shariah tyranny?
