Islamist Inquisition in Aceh – ” Minority Religious Creed ‘Worse Than Tsunami!’ “
Islamist inquisitors in Banda Aceh have renewed their threat to expose followers of a dissident religious minority to the risk of attacks by Islamonazi vigilantes. The Jakarta Globe today reports that ‘officials said on Thursday that they would stick to their threat to name and shame members of a banned sect who had not yet repented before the deadline of Wednesday.’
As covered in our blog earlier this month, the fanatics who run Aceh Province in the far north of Indonesia, a place infamous for its cruel sharia flogging of women, had warned that all personal data, names, addresses, etc., of the Millata Ibrahim creed’s congregation would be posted publicly, unless they ‘repent.’
We know what they mean by ‘repent’ – we have seen dozens, hundreds maybe, of Ahmadis ‘repenting’ after hideous intimidation all over Indonesia. In Islamist-Speak, ‘repent’ means abandoning your faith and bowing to their interpretation of God’s Word, not, necessarily or even, currently, usually, because you have reconsidered the fundamental truths of faith, but because you’re scared for yourself and your family. As we put it when we last covered this story, ‘we know where you live – convert or else!’
Illiza Sa’aduddin Djamal, deputy mayor of Banda Aceh, said her administration was still verifying information about the followers of the Millata Abraham sect before revealing their identities. “Right now we’re coordinating on the data with the city’s Shariah enforcement agency and the city police,” she said. “We’ll start publishing their names in early June.” She added that no matter how insignificant their transgressions might seem, the impact was “worse than the tsunami” that killed more than 170,000 people in Aceh alone in December 2004.
What a nitwit! Equating somebody’s decision to think for themselves, as human beings should, with the massive tidal wave that took a hundred thousand lives, indicates only that the woman is a frothing bigot. And if you don’t agree, read on!
“When a Muslim leaves Islam, that’s a major disaster,” she said.
Well, no, it’s not. It’s one individual’s decision, which is entirely his or her right to make.
Christians might feel sad if a church member drops out and goes agnostic or whatever, but they’d normally, in the 21st Century, be mature enough to let the person go. Certainly only an ignoramus would enrol police and bureaucrats to bully them back into line. But as I say, that’s only the way my folks would handle it, and only in the present day.
Aceh is still bogged down somewhere in the Middle Ages.
The city administration issued a decree on April 6 banning the sect. On May 10, it gave the followers an ultimatum to renounce their faith by May 25 or face having their identities published in the local media as part of a name-and-shame campaign.
So are these Millata Ibraham folks into savage rituals? Human sacrifice? Cannibalism? Anything that anyone with half a brain would regard as reprehensible? Do they, like Islamonazis in Banten, club people to death for disagreeing with their dogmas?
No, not at all. They are utterly harmless. Here’s the bigot beef, courtesy of the JG.
Members do not recognize the Prophet Muhammad and only pray once a day at midnight, instead of five times a day as everyday Muslims are required.

Said Yulizal, head of the Shariah enforcement agency, said that since the ultimatum, only 20 of the followers had volunteered to renounce their faith.
“We’re giving them a final chance to report themselves to our office,” he said.
He attributed the low turnout to the possibility that several of the followers may have already left Banda Aceh.
Well, gotta take the good with the bad.
Good to know most of these ordinary Indonesians are not being cowed by the sectarian regime. Bad that it has managed to turn some of its own citizens into refugees.
But then, who the hell would want to live in the Hell that Aceh has become?
