Now, UKIP, Apologise and Invite Him Back!
Victim of a UKIP Witch-Hunt!
——-

An inquiry by South Oxfordshire District Council found the comments had not breached its code of conduct.
David Silvester’s religious views are not a matter for South Oxford District Council, so it should never have been submitted to any ‘investigator’ – or is the formal title Political Commissar?
–
–
At least it’s been thrown out, but why was Silvester thrown out of UKIP?
As I said at the time, I don’t agree with him, but his views, that God takes an interest in the ways of the world He created, are really quite mainstream.

The Bible has not had the fate of those Egyptian First-Born edited out so far, nor the tale of Sodom and Gomorrah.
“The scriptures make it abundantly clear that a Christian nation that abandons its faith and acts contrary to the Gospel (and in naked breach of a coronation oath) will be beset by natural disasters such as storms, disease, pestilence and war.”
- I personally find it unacceptable that natural disasters or plagues are necessarily a sign of Divine Wrath, especially since they hiit people not guilty of any offence.
- But Mr. Silvester is perfectly entitled to think so – ‘gay’ so-called ‘marriage’ is an affront to anyone, Christian, Jew or Muslim, who reads their creeds’ holy texts.
Mr Silvester said he had “no regret…”
Nor should he…but another injustice remains unrighted.
=====
- He was expelled from UKIP in February after making the comments….“I believed [the letter] was right at the time and have continued to believe so,” he said. He said he would continue as a councillor and it was “quite possible” he would stand in next year’s election.
That would be a fight he deserves to win!
But he should do so as a fully-fledged UKIP candidate. Nigel Farage ought to intervene personally to over-rule the appeasement toadies who victimised this man.

Mainstream Churches sometimes go in for this sort of thinking. A few years back there were floods in Carlisle. The Church of England Bishop blamed them on our environmental sins which, he believed, were causing ” climate change” ( aka Global Warming). Nobody called for his resignation. ( Believe it or not, the Church of England actually runs a campaign for “Climate Justice”!)
Those of a sceptical nature thought that deliberate neglect of the dredging of water courses might have something to do with it. This policy was enforced through the a Environment Agency whose Chairperson was on record as saying she would like to attach a limpet mine to every pumping station in the country.
The policy produced the huge floods of the Somerset Levels more recently. Owen Paterson, the Environment Minister got to the root of the problem and altered the policy. So Mr Cameron sacked him.
It doesn’t do to have heretics against official orthodoxy in his government. On the same doctrine
of climate change , Cameron’s father in law has a subsidy/wind farm from which he pockets £1000 a day. Mrs Clegg ( wife of the Lib Dem Deputy Prime Minister) works for a firm which sells wind turbines – so orthodoxy is a very paying proposition for the few – whilst many get wet and all pay the priestly class a huge tribute in the form of inflated electricity bills.
