So Rotherham Council’s Cabinet is to resign after being branded “not fit for purpose” and “in denial” about its shortcomings by an independent government inspection.
As often is the case, government inspectors belatedly confirm what decent Brits had concluded a long time ago.
And the cowardice of Roger Stone, former Council leader? Cowardice is the charitable explanation for his refusal to be interviewed by the investigators.

Nobody’s saying that each and every Pakistani immigrant, or their offspring, adheres to barbaric views. Many, surely, will have left Pakistan because they prefer to live in a civilised country.
But the fact is that Pakistanis come from a land in thrall to a savage code which decrees inferior status for women. The primitive practice of polygamy, the iniquitous inheritance laws that give women an inferior share..we all know about that, or should.
This ghastly mind-set is to be seen at its worst in ISIS, the murderous rape-gang in the Middle East.

Something made me look back at what you wrote over three years ago.
That something was the statement from our Home Secretary just this month.
“We know that in these recent high-profile cases, where people have been convicted, that those people are disproportionately from a Pakistani background. I have instructed my officials to explore the particular context and characteristics of these types of gangs and if the evidence suggests that there are cultural factors that may be driving this type of offending, then I will take action.”
Of course people from a ‘culture’ like Pakistan’s are going to look down on women of any age.
Pakistan has laws based on sharia and sharia is not so much sexist as miogynist. Sharia treats women as inferiors who are there to do men’s bidding.
So my question is, will Mr. Javid now tell Theresa May to retract her notorious declaration of dupport for sharia law?
