A cloudy note, though, as I read that Jokowi’s Justice Minister is talking about releasing 15,000 drug convicts to ease over-crowding in prisons.
There are better ways to achieve this ‘object so sublime.’

One would hope not.

They should be put up against a wall and shot, if guilty of plundering the coffers of a country where millions of people barely get enough to eat.
That would free up prison beds.
And what about the vilest of the vile, the terrorists behind bars.
I have often mentioned the filthy swine who beheaded those little Christian schoolgirls and asked how soon might Hasanuddin and his heinous henchmen be turned loose –

– his original sentence was an insult to the very concept of justice.
Not death, nor even life, but a mere 20 years, which places a six years six months value on each innocent child’s life that he took.

Jones quotes examples ranging from just SIX years served to nine years.
As said above, that foul swine Hasanuddin got 20 years, in 2006, and although I have raised this before, only yesterday did I find out, after scouring the internet, that he had already, by August 2009, had five months chopped off that feeble punishment.

Of course we can say that, if there is indeed any cosmic justice, as the great religions teach, iniquitous scum like that will burn in Hell for all eternity.
But earthly equity would be a fine thing too.
Has any further remission been granted to such vermin in the past six years?
