  • I don’t go to zoos much, especially not here, since a depressing visit to Jogjakarta’s, some years ago, where the sight of a solitary beaver swimming sadly by him (or her) self  left me filled with compassion for the lonely furry Canadian animal, no mate to be seen. I hope some companionship has since been provided.

  • At least not as desperate a scene as the infamous Surabaya zoo, although latest news on that gives grounds for hope. Surabaya Zoo struggles to revive…
