Photo of an Evil Entity – Why Was It Unleashed?
Again and again, we – and by that I don’t just mean me, but many people who live in Indonesia, local and expat – have pointed to the need for reform in the handling of terrorism.
Pitifully inadequate sentencing is outrageous in itself… Sarinah? Hukum Mati – Who’s Got Guts Enough To Ensure Justice?
….but this weak-kneed attitude in courts is compounded by the folly of early release.

Afif had been arrested by the National Police’s counterterrorism squad Densus 88 for involvement in military training in Aceh in 2010. The West Jakarta District Court sentenced him to seven years prison for terrorism and he was incarcerated in Cipinang Penitentiary. – http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2016/01/15/shooter-identified-ex-terror-convict.html

Sentenced to SEVEN YEARS IN 2010?
THAT MEANS HE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN UNLEASHED TILL NEXT YEAR!
Lives might have been saved, innocents not shot and badly hurt at Sarinah this week, had this demonic beast been kept caged.
Obviousy common sense dictates that ALL those convicted of terror-linked offences should be put to death.
We’d all welcome it if President Jokowi were to make such a declaration .
But meantime, let him, please, put an end to the nonsense of early release, remission, or parole, or whatever the current permissive catch-phrase happens to be.
