Oh, Golly! Oz Pinkos Outlaw Delightful Dolly!

Arising in fragile shape after last night’s party, I’m not exactly improved by reading the silly season news from Australia, where Canberra Hospital has removed golliwog dolls from its kiosk.

Apparently some tiresome little twit named Emma Woolley sent out an indignant tweet which sparked condemnation online this week.
You’d think poor Emma, maybe not so little, since she was at the hospital for a routine antenatal visit, might have more important things on what passes for her mind. She should be focused, surely, on plans for her baby.

Mums-to-be, as far as I know, are best advised to avoid needless stress. Stress is also bad for grandmas, like that 72-year-old Brit who dared to defend gollies.

I wish Emma well during all stages of her pregnancy but I do worry about her. There are obvious hazards pregnant pinkos should avoid. She might chance upon somebody wearing one of those patriotic t-shirts emblazoned with ‘Love It Or Leave It!’

A spokesman for Woolworths told SBS the singlets, previously available in two stores, were “totally unacceptable. “The singlet was not one we ordered,” he said.

“It was delivered to us in error and should never been allowed on our shelves. We will review our processes to ensure this sort of error cannot happen again.  http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2014/10/13/woolworths-criticised-if-you-dont-love-it-leave-aussie-shirt

Or she might be browsing for kiddies’ song-books, and come across that appalling racist ditty ‘Baa, Baa Black Sheep!’

‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ Deemed Racist, Sexist By Australian Child Care Centers

Generations of tots have delighted in gollywogs, which, if they have any kind of effect on attitudes, surely encourage kids to like black people. My old teddy never made me dislike bears!

The photograph of the dolly display in the Canberra Times link : http://www.canberratimes.com.au/act-news/golliwogs-removed-from-sale-at-canberra-hospital-after-online-condemnation-looks quite nice and it looks like there’s no attempt by hospital management to force people to buy them. It’s a matter of free choice, now, sadly outlawed by craven administrators, whining pathetically that no offence was intended.

Well, their PC crawl offends me, and will no doubt offend many Australians who see no reason to be denied a choice of playthings because Uptight Emma feels entitled to impose her puking pinko prejudice on everyone else.
