Racist BLM Haunts The Ruins Of ‘Toronto The Good!’

I have more than once lamented the disappearance of ‘Toronto The Good,’ which I am just about old enough to remember, from visits to cousins, a drive up from Stratford that seemed immensely long to the little fellow I then was.

Good Old Toronto, A Solid City of Solid Citizens!

The city then was big but not the sprawling conurbation it is today, with so many other municipalities drawn into its orbit.

But size didn’t matter so much as the key element of civility.

It was safe to wander through any of its neighbourhoods, violent crime was virtually unknown, and the many immigrants there were genuinely eager to become real Canadians.

There was no disagreeable inclination to cling to the customs and cultures they had been happy to leave behind when they came to a place where the British North America Act had cemented democracy, where we all sang from the same song-book, about how the ‘Thistle, Shamrock, Rose entwine, the Maple Leaf Forever. ‘

 

Changed days.

 

Now Toronto tends to resemble one of those old horror films where the lunatics are running the asylum.

Mind you, it’s been going on for a while…

The Toronto public school system decided to temporarily scrap its program that puts police officers in schools after facing demands from Black Lives Matter and other groups.

‘Black Lives Matter’ is, in and of itself, a racist concept. All lives matter and if we have to evaluate in any given situation whose life matters most, what should count is not the colour of somebody’s skin.

Imagine if you were fishing on a pier on one of the Great Lakes and two people fell in, one an unknown black man and one a black-clad Antifa white lout.

There’s only one life-belt hanging on a pole there. I know who would be on the receiving end of my throw!

Why would ANY public body listen to demands from a gang infamous for its racism and exhortations to violence?

Yet listen they did, those lousy left-liberals infesting the Toronto District School Board, and cravenly they bowed to the undesirables…

…so that a program, which places armed police officers in about thirty six Toronto public schools, will be suspended until November…

It’s quite a good report in the Daily Caller, except for one little part where the author refers to Black Lives Matter Toronto and other social justice organizations.

Justice is not a concept familiar to, or even understood by, far-left racists, and social justice has long since been reduced to a mere cultural marxist catch-phrase.

They do not believe in fair play or in law and order, and the TDSB’s a damn disgrace for giving the time of day to BLM’s absurd concerns about police officers acting racist towards the black students.

Black Lives Matter Toronto said  “It’s time to hear from students themselves about their experiences with police surveillance, decriminalization, profiling..”

By this they presumably mean anti-social students with a grudge against cops.

Certainly they won’t be hearing from one student, who was shot and killed while walking down the hallways of his school.

It was that young person’s death that resulted in the programme being initiated.

And ain’t it paradoxical that this bizarre board wants the cops kicked out now but when there was a perceived threat to the TDSB’s nauseating pinko agenda in the past…
