‘Intransigence Of Madrid… That’s The Only Word To Use?’
France 24 is beyond belief in its biased presentation of news!
That bald berk Doug Herbert just dismissed the Spanish Government’s position on Catalonia with the words in my headline, above.

Many might agree with him that the Rajoy regime is guilty of ‘intransigence‘ but many won’t.
Clearly, as an employee of a state-funded channel, he is totally out of order to tell us that it’s the ONLY word to use!
Many, maybe most, Spaniards, would say Madrid is behaving entirely correctly to defend the integrity of the kingdom.
I have been asked by a commenter why I haven’t made any comments myself on Catalonia. I will, soon enough. I’m no admirer of Rajoy, who grovels to Brussels rather than defend Spain from invasion by primitive savages…

The EU Commissioner for Home Affairs, Cecilia Malmstrom, said she was “very concerned” about Spanish police firing rubber bullets to deter migrants. She added that the actions of any EU state protecting its borders should be “proportionate”, and should respect fundamental rights and human dignity.

If the so-called Catalan ‘nationalists’ were real nationalists and offering the people in that province/country some kind of alternative, like resistance to illegal immigration and deportation of illegals and Islamists, then who wouldn’t welcome a new force for good.on the Mediterranean.
The trouble is that the secessionist party is not nationalist at all, just like the multicult SNP in Scotland which wants MORE migrants.
