Dennis The Mincer? Will ‘Gnasher’ Become ‘Nancy?’
Catching up on news I missed whilst enjoying my vacation, I was alarmed to learn that “Dennis the Menace” is now a non-person…

…replaced by somebody called ‘plain Dennis in the weekly Beano and its annual.’
Like the Old Bolsheviks on trial in Stalin’s Evil Empire, those in power have decided the character much-loved by generations of kids had “made mistakes in the past.”

No firing squad in these more permissive times, but evidently sent for psychiatric rehab, the recalcitrant has “moved away from his ‘menacing’ ways”.

I left your blog open on my screen because you usually produce something new for us to appreciate every day and this was worth waiting for.
These Beano ‘Commissars’ (a good word you chose for them) are unbelievable. Nothing is beyond their devious minds.
Poor children, missing out on good fun because these latter-day Walter The Softy types have got control of the comic industry as well of so much of the adult media.
Speaking of adult and children’s media, I like your closing words about those ridiculous ‘adult’ cartoons. They have them here too. Although I have never watched cartoons since my children grew up, I decided one night to see what they were all about.
Never seen anything so stupid as that ‘American Dad.’
What kind of retarded ‘adults’ watch that rubbish?. –

They can’t even leave the kids alone.
That’s how we tend to react to this kind of thing but the truth of the matter is that it’s the kids they want most of all.
If they can detach another generation from normal human thinking patterns, the way they’ve done with so many millennials, we’re ruined totally.
