‘Offensive?’ Defining ‘Rap’ & ‘Hip-Hop’ As MUSIC Offends!
Big row in Germany over two award-winning ‘rappers’ – reason?
They recorded ‘lyrics’ of a ‘song’ about Auschwitz.
German rappers Kollegah and Farid Bang won an Echo award Thursday night for their new album, including a track that contains the line “my body more defined than Auschwitz inmates’.”

But it is also much more generally offensive that an organisation purporting to be responsible for music – the ‘Echo Music Awards’ – – should pay any attention to either ‘rap’ or ‘hip-hop’ which are no more identifiable as music…

…than the noise my cat makes when it eats some rubbish it’s found on the street and ( ever-thoughtful!) comes home and pukes on my floor.
The grisly duo of course deny all malign intent.
However, when their turn came to get the prize, the hip-hoppers rebuffed the accusations and warned against politicizing the matter.

But I have to wonder if making mockery of maltreated Jews might not be interpreted as seeking to widen the appeal of this sort of bestial noise to the most rabid beasts…

The pity of the thing is that some of these ‘rappers’ and ‘hip-hoppers’ do show signs of having music skills but then waste them on producing noise you expect to hear when you walk past the monkey-house in a zoo.
