Don't Just Read This And Fume -Take Action, NOW!
If you express an interest in replacing an unsatisfactory MP by using lawful democratic means, you may find yourself the subject of a police investigation.

That’s no horror story from some banana republic but modern British politics in action.

Bully Sandbach
=
The vindictive vixen who deserves everyone’s contempt for her gestapoid action is Antoinette Sandbach,’Conservative’ MP for Eddisbury, who ‘reported a pro-Brexit constituent of hers to the police for sending an “abusive” email.’
What beastly threats did the constituent, a senior cit named Linda Banahan, utter to traumatise poor sensitive Antoinette?
=
This menacing old lady brazenly wrote to her local Conservative Association as follows –
‘I hope the Eddisbury Conservatives will seriously consider deselecting her [Sandbach] for such a selfish and self-centred betrayal of the party and country.’
Mrs. Banahan added that she’d not be voting for Sandbach due to the legislator’s disloyalty.
As a simple courtesy, she copied her letter to the Europhiliac ratbag too.
Please note, it’s YOURS TRULY -yes, ME- that’s describing Sandbach thus.
Mrs. Banahan used no rude or abusive words, merely exercising her basic citizen’s right to criticise her recalcitrant MP.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
The Sandbach Shrew replied to her old age pensioner constituent.
‘Your email address has been added to my blocked email as there is a strict policy against abusive emails operated by this office and your email has also been reported to the police.’
Okay, if the arrogant bint dislikes criticism, she can block any of the people she has a duty to represent, and all we can do is deplore her irresponsibility.
But THE COPs?
Does she think she’s not an MP but an MHR – Member of Hitler’s Reichstag?
What an uppity elitist Sandbach is!

She is well out of order.
British MPs are elected to listen to their constituents, not ask the police to investigate them when they raise an issue that concerns them.
She should resign. If she refuses, then May should take away the Tory party whip. The LibDems will take her into their party and it’s where she belongs anyway.

May will not lift a finger, Jan. The last time some local Tories wanted to sort out a Remainer, it was May who rescued the traitor,
The Devil looks after her own.

Fume!?
I was near enough volcanic when I read about this.
What kind of MP puts a constituent under threat of police action for the crime of criticising her position on something that’s part of a nationwide debate?
The object of Sandbach’s bullying wants to have the local Tories deeselect the bully. Not a bad idea, but local Tory party committees are usually the types who fawn and fall over themselves around MPs
Deselection means the people in that constituency would have to wait till the next election o get rid of her. Might it not be better to introduce the recall system?
Some American states allow voters, if they get a certain number of signatures, to force an elected representative to face an early challenge.
After the way Sandbach’s behaved, she would be out on her ear.
