A quick glance through old news suggests that even home-grown convicts given an easier time for ‘good behaviour’ are not thus privileged…

Why would any criminal be allowed a phone in his cell?
It makes no sense, even worse if these wasters get it when Australians are not given the privilege.

I think you have it right that bad Australians who commit crimes are not allowed phones in their prison cells and too bloody right.
So why would these crimmigrants have any more ‘rights’ than the local neighbourhood mongrels?
If you refuse to respect the law, you lose rights, not get special ones.
