Apologise For Admiring Churchill? How Dare He!?!

Scott Kelly, a retired American astronaut with multiple space flights under his belt, apologized Sunday after quoting Winston Churchill and calling the 20th century British prime minister “one of the greatest leaders of modern times.”
Which of course Churchill was.
Unlike his American counterpart at the end of World War Two…

But that’s another matter.
What matters today is the way this Kelly creep took a few hits from slimy leftists on social media…

Sir Winston loved his country!
He was fiercely faithful to the British Crown and the British Empire, and that’s more than enough to make him a hate-figure for the Enemy Within.

Our parents and grandparents knew he was a great man.
He is part of our most glorious historical era and who will suggest anyone was or is greater?
This spaceman obviously learned about his greatness in school and that is why he spoke the way he did.
What is sickening is that as soon as the left started in on him, he turned tail and volunteered to re-educate himself!
For an American it is all the more inexcusable, because he must be aware of how his own country’s great men have been the target of disrespectful, disgraceful attacks, Washington and Jefferson for two.
By the way, I am not British and not American either.
As a Canadian scandalised by the insults aimed at Sir John A Macdonald and the offensive removal of our own first prime minister’s statue, I kind of expected this but am still outraged.

Anybody truly great is under attack by the far-left, not only Washington and Jefferson but even Columbus.
The left would rather America had never been discovered but since they can’t undo history, they now want to destroy our heritage by rewriting it.

Kenneth, we have the same rubbish in Australia, with Captain Cook the hate-figure and lefties telling us we should be ashamed of changing a wild place into a prosperous modern country.
Funnily enough, they insist the land was stolen and belongs rightfully to the Aborigines but they still keep buying houses on that land and never show any interest in then giving it back to the dispossessed ‘natives.’

What disappoints me is that we expect this from Hollywood and millenial simpletons but this Kelly is old enough to know better and has done something useful with his life, so different from celebrity drones and college brats.

Has Kelly told us what he will read to wipe historical truth from his mind?
A daily diet of New York Times op-eds? The collected speeches of Maxine Waters?
Is he so weak-minded that he will voluntarily submit himself to brain-washing?
We need to start vetting astronaut candidates for strength of character, if this jellyfish is typical of what America is sending into space.
If he’d met a Martian, he’d have come back as one of those pods in ‘Invasion of the Body-Snatchers!’

Yay Holly, You may be onto something.
I remember that old movie, about alien life forms replacing human beings by taking over their bodies.
This might explain the change in the past 40 or 50 years, between Americans who loved their country and behaved like genuine normal people and what we are seeing now, like all those humanoid things that gathered outside the Supreme Court hesrings.
That mob were nothing like the real American women of our mothers’ generation.
