Ribs Or Broccoli? No Contest, Climate Panickers!
Their Authoritarian Urge Is Hard To Hide!
===========================
That was last year…what’s changed?
==============================
I just had a gloating email from a Brit friend who lives here in Jakarta.
She has gone home to London for a few weeks and was extolling the joys of eating proper British food, fish and chips, and Cornish pasties, and sausage rolls…
…to name but 3 of the Sceptred Isle’s culinary delights which put French and Italian cuisine to shame.
Then I saw this.
UN report: eat less meat to combat climate crisis
Thus the headline, then the somewhat contradictory intro to last week’s EUObs story
“We don’t want to tell people what to eat,” said UN climate panelist Hans-Otto Portner. . Read on »

A few days before that, the BBC was interviewing some old dame named Debra, from the UN’s IPCC gang, telling us that we had to make a choice, either ribs or broccoli, if we want to keep the temperature down.
A little later, the repulsive brat…
…………

“Every Friday, I miss classes to sit outside my country’s parliament. I will continue to do so until leaders come into line with the Paris agreement…”
Brats Demonstrate…Their Ill-Disciplined Irresponsibility!
…surrounded by obseqious media, was on the screen, blabbering and scolding grown-ups. She shares her passion for scolding with the IPCC, and more than a few of us are sick of it.
We’ll eat as we please.
Ribs for me!
Bacon sandwiches, Aussie meat pies, steak ( well done, of course!) and…
…
….
…YES! – sausage rolls…

Congratulations, Ross.
I agree with you, they are a bossy bunch, but my congratulations are for getting the spelling right for brocolli. I always mis-spell it.

I have to say I thought you were giving too much attention to the USA but this appreciation of British foods makes me very happy.
I get fed up too with the way the ‘metropolitan elites’ in Britain always insult good food like fish and chips and compare it unfavourably with French food.
German food is great and Italian, but I never see how anything can beat our own traditional favourites.
Sausage rolls, pasties, and a fine British breakfast fry-up.
Nothing better!

So the UN knows best what we should have for dinner?
Globalisation gone mad.
Some days I throw together whatever we have in the fridge, a salad sandwich or egg and chips. We’re not picky eaters in this house.
All change.
Every day from now on I will make sure there’s meat at least once a day.
Even if it’s just bangers and mash!

Broccoli? With what? Spinach? Asparagus?
Who wants to eat like a rabbit?
Meat and potatoes is our culture!
They must respect diversity.

No steak for you, Chipper, if you go to Goldsmith’s college in London, that is.
Unwilling to allow their students to make up their own minds about their choice of menu, the overseers have restricted that choice to suit their ‘climate panic’ prejudices.
