Will BBC Sponsor Hate-Freak Arab’s London Dance Of Death?
000
On the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks Atwan opined: “The events of 11 September will be remembered as the end of the US empire. This is because all empires collapse when they pursue the arrogance of power…”
…
ooo
This is the Palestinian Arab who has, somehow, got UK citizenship and is repeatedly treated as an honoured guest on BBC’s notorious Dateline.

What else has the fanatic said?
‘If the Iranian missiles strike Israel, by Allah, I will go to Trafalgar Square and dance with delight’.

Oh, and a few more gems.
He expressed sympathy with the insurgency against the US-led 2003 invasion of Iraq. Commenting on former president Saddam Hussein’s extrajudicial execution he said that he would “go to the gallows with his head held high, because he built a strong united Iraq without sectarianism”.
ooooooo
In March 2008, Atwan said that the Mercaz HaRav shooting, in which a Palestinian gunman killed eight students (aged 15 to 26), “was justified”. He added that the Mercaz HaRav yeshiva is responsible for “hatching Israeli extremists and fundamentalists..”
And it is not just Dateline he gets to strut his stuff on – his wikipedia entry adds the following…
…he is a regular guest on Dateline London on BBC World, Sky News, Al Jazeera English and CNN World, as well as on several Arabic-language networks. He has contributed articles to British newspapers including The Guardian, The Mail on Sunday, and The Herald (Glasgow). He is a columnist for Gulf News.

I’m glad you did a follow-up on this fanatuc. The BBC should be crucified for having this man anywhere near a microphone.
ABC in Australia is as bad.
They had that hideous hijabbed girl long enough, insulting us on Anzac Day but they had plenty of protests about her.
Why are British people not up in arms?

I am never surprised at any depths the BBC sinks to but which British Govermnent oversaw the handing of UK citizenship to this man?
Whoever it was should be exposed and the citizenship process reversed.

Diana, there are two versions of his nationality to be found when we look it up, one says ‘UK’ and the other says Palestinian.’
Somebody must know for sure.
Ross, you have scored a big goal with this and you are right to keep on it. I hope the BBC will be pushed hard.
CNN are much like BBC the way they treat this Atwan and Americans as well as UK readers might like to consider this from another wiki entry.
“Yemenite journalist and columnist for the London Arabic-language daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, Munir Al-Mawari, stated:
“The Abd Al Bari Atwan on CNN is completely different from the Abdel Bari Atwan on the Al Jazeera network or in his Al Quds Al Arabi daily.
On CNN, Atwan speaks solemnly and with total composure, presenting rational and balanced views. This is in complete contrast with his fuming appearances on Al Jazeera and in Al Quds Al Arabi, in which he whips up the emotions of multitudes of viewers and readers”. “
