That’s presumably the sort of ideal leadership that Anders Jonsson, the Centre Party leader, had in mind when he told media that Akesson’s latest move was “not worthy of a Swedish party leader!”

Mediocrities like Migration Minister Morgan Johansson are happier to sneer and smear, as this week he denounced Akesson’s dramatic appearance in Thrace as “totally ridiculous” – he yelped that the patriot only travelled there to “pose for cameras.”

By doing so, of course, Akesson was responsibly representing not just the huge electorate his party has back home –

An opinion poll published by public broadcaster Sveriges Radio last week suggested the Sweden Democrats were the country’s largest party, with over 23 per cent support.

But he’s quoted that he ‘had travelled to the border city of Erdine.’

As far as I know, there’s no such city, any more than there’s a city of Stokhome.
