…held court on BBC’s News Night on Saturday afternoon ( that’s when we see it in Jakarta) – no sign of the arrogant Maitlis!
I’m not sure which of the two shrews is more off-putting.
Barnett is a known feminut, apparently a paid-up member of the Women’s Equality Party, which is possibly, at least partly, an overly dramatic reaction to her father’s imprisonment for running brothels.
See wikipedia – Ian Barnett was jailed for three years and eight months in 2008 after admitting to keeping a string of brothels, controlling prostitution and conspiracy to control brothels.
But let’s stick to the missing Maitlis.

If Maitlis wants a soap-box to attack other people, she can go to Hyde Park Corner and take her chances among the other eccentrics.
The BBC is not hers to use. She is just a servant, not entitled to lecture her masters.
Nice one by the way, about Barnett’s Barlow-glasses. I doubt there’s anything she could wear that would improve her looks.
As all my rightwing male-chauvinist colleagues here agreed, she’s a real dog, as well as a lefty bitch!
