Metro TV had a very long, and largely boring, outside broadcast from Makassar, in South Sulawesi, yesterday afternoon.

I would have changed channels but the mayoral /vice mayoral candidates had chosen to declare their candidatures on a fishing vessel in the harbour, which was lovely to behold, the sunlight shining on the waters.

Also, one of the candidates was accompanied by a very attractive young lady dressed all in blue.

No idea who she was!
But ever so pleasing to the eye!

Alas, he quickly lost my vote (if I had one- we foreigners quite rightly have no political rights in Indonesia )

But why was I turned off?

Because I saw the person in the photo below…

I haven’t seen the fanatic local in the news here for at least two years, but every time I see or hear of Matta, a wave of nausea washes over me, for his vile exaltation of that foul fiend.
