Overt Arrogance Echoes in Dublin!

Some geezer named Doyle has written an opinion piece for the Irish Times, and I agree wholeheartedly with the headline above it.

UK subvention to North irrelevant to debate on Irish unity

But then he starts to enter into economic analysis, about who would pick up the tab for state pensions etc. – which shows that he, like so many in that alien republic, has not the slightest clue.

Of course money has nothing to do with the rights or wrongs of ‘Irish Unity.’

What matters is that the very phrase ‘Irish Unity’ is an affront to every principle of self-determination.

The fact that two distinct nations share a border can NEVER justify the larger one demanding, expecting, hoping for or even contemplating the absorption of the smaller one, on ANY terms.

Eire was signatory to the 1975 Helsinki Treaty which rendered all of Europe’s existing boundaries sacrosanct.

Dublin signed a pact with London and Belfast 50 years before that.

Eire is a nation steeped in dishonour.

Even were it not, none of its citizens has any right to aspire to transform geographical proximity into political unification.

Mr. Doyle, no offence, but..
