Fanatic Munarman’s Mere 3 Years!

A mere three years?

That was my reaction to the sentence handed down this month to Munarman, of whom we have written a lot over the years.

Indeed, some of that has proven near prophetic  viz.

IMHO, this fanatic was at his most despicably obnoxious in that tv studio, when I dubbed him Munarman the Lout…

• …invited onto TVOne to discuss FPI’s hoodlum behaviour, Munarman lost the argument and then totally lost his infantile temper, hurling a glass of something over the mild-mannered academic who’d bested him.

But now, as the Jakarta Globe reports..

...the former secretary-general of hardline group Islamic Defenders Front, or FPI, guilty of terrorism…sentenced to three years in prison.

Munarman, 53, has established ties with terrorist organization the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and incited people to pledge allegiance to then the group’s leader Abu Bakar Al Baghdadi, according to the verdict read aloud at the East Jakarta District Court.

Prosecutors also alleged that Munarman had links to suicide bombers who attacked churches in Makassar and the Philippines, demanded eight years’ imprisonment for Munarman during a hearing last month.

However, the story isn’t over yet.
