Ulster Flag Ban? Be Selective!

Flags are being banned from new-build housing developments across Northern Ireland due to legal text increasingly being inserted into the small print of homeowner contracts…. https://www.belfastlive.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/flags-banned-new-housing-developments-24392451

It is an arguable matter, if residents’ rights to hoist all manner of banners should or shouldn’t be restricted.

For sure, flags endorsing unwholesome activity…

… or any form of sexual deviancy, should be flown only behind closed doors, not outside, where children might see them.

Other pennants, promoting other causes?

Foreign countries’ flags?

We might argue it depends on the country – if it’s a country engaged in multiple aggressive behaviours….

…or a country specifically hostile to Ulster….

…then why not introduce a ban?

But no way should there EVER be any question of outlawing the beloved Red, White and Blue anywhere in the United Kingdom.

The very idea that any Brit could get into bother for flying his or her country’s flag is not just absurd but offensive!
