I also find it repulsive that, when it’s clearly a ‘he,’ many media, including the Mail, whose report I am looking at, are referring to Thomas as ‘she.’

Instead, it seems useful to pick up on another gem of wokery embedded in tbe Mail’s report…namely –
Each school is allowed two nominations as long as one of the athletes is an international student or a person of color….
‘International student?’
Presumably to encourage rich foreign kids to enrol, but a ‘person of colour‘ obviously means a coloured person.
Why?
Unless America has suddenly changed, there are plenty of coloured men and women who excel in their sports.
Why the need for affirmative action in this situation?
