Canada – Not Quite At The Book-Burning Stage…Yet?

I enjoy the True North website, as it offers reports that are written fairly but with a definite hint of pro-Canadian rather than globalist or marxist bias.

Very different from the race-bigots on CBC…

CBC says racism against white people “doesn’t exist”

Thus today, TNC has an alarming story about a company called, oddly, Chapters Indigo…

…said to be ‘Canada’s largest physical book retailer,’ which is deliberately refusing to stock a book by True North’s Andrew Lawton – ‘a best seller in multiple categories before it was even published.’

oooooooo

On July 13, it reached number one on the Toronto Star’s bestseller list for non-fiction books in Canada. That same week it also ranked in the top spot on The Globe and Mail’s bestselling list for hardcover non-fiction.

It claims that ‘it is not selling the book in its stores because they have limited shelf space for books.’

You may believe that if you wish, but others have suggested that the subject, and/or the title, of Lawton’s book may be the reason.

I am keen on books, and that goes for books by people I don’t agree with.

I was famously furious with the shocking antics of Indonesia’s Gramedia publishing company…

Grovelling Gramedia’s BookBurning Bonanza – Appeasing Fanatics

..and its pathetic leftist newspaper, the Jakarta Post, over the disgusting book-burning here in Indonesia, some years ago.

Shamefully, as far as i know, Gramedia has never apologised.

I also took the side of a Canadian lesbian leftist…

…with whom I probably have little, ideologically, in common..

Failure to stock a book is a minor form of censorship, compared to arson, but Canada has been turning into Turdistan for some time…

..and I feel moved to call such suppression out.

WHY?

An important question, surely.

Especially since Chapters Indigo is – so I am told – perfectly relaxed about Mein Kampf or The Communist Manifesto!
