But now, 64 percent of those surveyed say there are satifisfied with the job Merkel has been doing as chancellor, making her the most popular politician in the country.

The only mildly good news from the survey of voting intentions is that the patriot party, the AfD, is almost certain to gain seats in the Bundestag.
But the rabid far-left parties, the Greens and The Left, are on more or less the same level, just under ten per cent.
