Hey, Oz, Be Warned! Rohingya OTW?

My readers in Oz probably don’t read the Un-Australian ABC more than they have to, given its despicable record…

Rats On The Run! ABC Memo –

…not least when their Jakarta hack infamously promoted fake-refugee lies so eagerly that his bosses had to back off in the face of public outrage!

Even less likely are Aussie folk to study ABC’s Indonesian-language service, but today they should!

‘Mereka Mau ke Australia’: Warga Aceh Telah Selamatkan 100 Pengungsi Rohingya di Laut

    https://www.abc.net.au/indonesian/2020-06-29/warga-aceh-selamatkan-ratusan-pengungsi-rohingya/12402442

    Instant translation?

They want to get to Australia!’

    The background?

A boatload of Rohingya appeared off the shores of Aceh Province.

    .

    ..

Authorities there did not want them to get ashore, perhaps because of virus risk, but also, perhaps, aware of previous experience with Rohingya ‘boat-people….’

Heading for Oz? Murderous Rohingya ‘Asylumers’ – Out in Nine Months!

…but local villagers, out of misguided sympathy, or Islamic solidarity, brought them, unauthorised, to dry land.

    Now what?

The ingrates don’t want to stay with their benefactors.

    Australia is their intended target!

You can read the whole article, if it’s not on ABC’s ‘home’ site.

However, there will be many here in Indonesia not at all reluctant to facilitate the ambitious agenda, again for mixed reasons, partly because of anti-Myanmar sectarian hatred…

    .

    .

    .

    …or of childish Anti-Australianism…

    Jakarta Globe’s Even-Handed Oz-Bashing – Journalism? Ha-Bloody-Ha!

….but also, sensibly, because Indonesians do not appreciate troublesome aliens!

A Tropical Calais? Indonesian MayorWants Migrants “Removed!”

In the past, government ministers in Jakarta have tried to say Australia ought to buckle to boat-bludgers.

Wrong, Retno – Crimmigrants’ Intended Targets Have NO Duty Of ‘Cooperation!’

…so I simply send this alert.

    Say No, Loudly!

      Thanks for the alert!
I understand why the Indonesians would not want Rohingya but better there than Australia.
ABC will be rooting for the bludgers but Scomo won’t let them in.
      I hope!

When those fools ignored the authorities and went ahead and brought the Rohingya ashore, I was puzzled that they were allowed to get away with it.
Instead nothing was done but we will soon be hearing from the same windbag politicians and professors. I mean those we used to read about when Australia was up against the worst of the illegal boat crisis.

Happy Valentine’s Day! But NOT In Intolerant Aceh!

Every year, killjoys come out and whine about Valentine’s Day.

I almost laughed out loud at the sheer asinine backwardness reported from the municipality of Bnei Brak, ‘just east of Tel Aviv,’ run by fanatically sexist Jewish fanatics.

That must be the daftest thing I’ve read since the ghastlies up in Indonesia’s Aceh Province decided to engage in some shariah-meddling with the posters advertising an Agnes Monica concert.

Although Agnes, one of the most popular singers in the archipelago, is a Christian, somehow, by the time the poster-ads went up in the province that likes to call itself  ‘The Verandah of Mecca,’ she had acquired a headscarf!

FYI, I append a few photos of the lovely lady as she more usually appears!

I honestly don’t think a headscarf would in any way improve her appearance.

    HATE SPEECH?

Since when is a good-natured jokey video ‘hate speech!’

    =

Hoax KH Ma'ruf Pakai Baju Santa

    ======

Well, the answer to that is when the man ostensibly wearing the Santa suit is not only President Jokowi’s VP candidate but also a senior figure in the MUI, the ‘Indonesian Council of Scholars’ – ‘scholars’ here in Indonesia actually means ISLAMIC ‘scholars,’ by the way.

We have written a lot about the MUI…

So Ma’aruf Amin is probably the last person one might expect to see in Father Christmas gear, which is why anyone who saw the video would very promptly realise it was a joke…

    Laughter

… but as we know, humour is as rare as door-to-door carolling in Aceh.

Listen to top cop Rio, who has –

    – advised the public not to try making content containing hate speech. “We don’t mess about with this problem, we don’t discredit people, spread hate speech or bring other people into disrepute. It’s a crime.”

“The police will hunt down all those involved in the hate speech video. Moreover, the victim of this video is a vice presidential candidate.”

I don’t see why Amin’s political prominence should come into it – after all, if there is hatred being spread via the internet against even the humblest Jakarta street-sweeper, that should concern an impartial police force every bit as much as some saucy jibe at a cleric running for high office…

…but perhaps somebody will ask Rio about that.

Meanwhile, he’s a top cop with a mission.

“We will arrest all of them!”

To put all this brou-ha-ha in perspective, Ma’aruf Amin amazed the nation a day or two ago by wishing his Christian fellow-citizens an unprecedented ‘Merry Christmas!’

He had hitherto been seemingly reluctant to offer this basic civility…

“The issue is debated, [so] it’s better not to say it,” he said in December 2012 as reported by tempo.co. He reiterated his stance in 2016 as reported by tribunnews.com, that “I would rather not say [‘Merry Christmas’]” if disagreements existed on the issue. .https://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2018/12/25/jokowis-vp-maruf-amin-posts-rare-christmas-greeting.html

…but, hey, it’s an election year coming up!

All the Muslims I know were happy to offer me the traditional Christmas greeting, but there are a minority of sectarian uptights around, whom we have noted in the past.

IslamoNazi Christmas Warning – Don’t You Dare Disturb Us Bigots!

Whether poor ‘S’ uploaded or downloaded the video, I have no idea.

But all the fuss about this video is baffling.

Neither Amin’s fans or foes can be expected to believe what they see if they watch it – so what’s the big deal?

Shariah Menace In Malaysia – But Freedom Fights On!

As July ends, time for a brief look at poor Malaysia, if only because we have not examined the situation there for quite some while!

Yet another on civil liberties by Islamist bigots, the notorious PAS party’s leader tabling  proposed law changes for harsher Shariah punishments…

    —–

Hadi’s private member’s Bill, which is raised in the form of a parliamentary motion, is listed as item number 10. — Picture by Yusof Mat Isa

    —–

Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang-  hereinafter referred to as Hadi – is eager to drag his country deeper into darkness.

And by God, it’s already mired in intolerance, as we’ve noted often before…

Malaysia – Call for Religious Freedom Provokes Islamist Indignation

Malaysia, Truly Arabia? Ahmadis Forced to Seek Asylum!

    ooooooooo

Now there’s Hadi’s call to ‘increase the Shariah courts’ maximum sentencing limits to 30 years’ jail, RM100,000 fine and 100 strokes of the cane.’

Nothing wrong with tough punishments, but when you contemplate what constitutes ‘offences’ under shariah ‘law,’ you realise the magnitude of the iniquity Hadi proposes.

Holding hands with your girl-friend. Drinking a bottle of beer on a hot afternoon. Playing cards for a few cents.

Bigots Menace Pluralist Muslims – ‘No Prayers For Your Dead!’

…that’s as mean-spirited as it gets, but up to them.

    ==

However, how dare they claim the right to punish ‘miscreants’ as if their sectarian dogmas have the force of law?

The report leaves open the question of whether this ghastly motion will in fact reach a vote, due to a crowded legislative time-table

But it’s a timely reminder of how Malaysia, could end up in as benighted a situation as the Indonesian Province of Aceh, just across the straits, where primitive shariah law prevails…

    =

    =

…with cowardly masked brutes publicly flogging defenceless young women before  moronic rabbles of salivating savages.

    =============

    =

However, on the bright side, there have been genuinely positive amendments proposed, not, of course, by Hadi, aiming to defend helpless kids from being coerced by an apostate parent.

    ———

The amendment would stop a Muslim convert from unilaterally converting children from a non-Muslim marriage to Islam.

    http://www.themalaymailonline.com/malaysia/article/shariah-bill-proposed-unilateral-conversion-ban-back-in-parliament

But then he makes a very interesting statement!

    ——–=

“Just like we call on people to respect the laws of countries they travel to, people must also respect the laws of this country,” he wrote.

    ===========

So what is Mr. al-Munayif telling ‘migrants’ from the Middle East, Pakistan, etc. who choose to settle in civilised Western countries?

That they must repudiate the iniquitous shariah laws which treat women as second-class human beings?

That Londoners, New Yorkers, normal folks in Toronto and Paris and Sydney, should no longer have their street scenes blighted by burka-clad bints wandering along, about three or four subjugated paces behind their men?

If so, he’d be doing more than that lousy appeasement artist, Theresa May.

That’s the dumbo Google Translate interpretation of ‘aurat’ – a catch-all word for ‘private parts,’ which, to the backward brigade, includes thighs, belly-buttons, hair (of course) but even shoulders!

    Pathetic!

Get Your Tickets Soon – Jakarta Shariah Tourism Boom?

We did report on Sandiago Uno’s astounding promise prior to the Jakarta election – as a  result of which he’s now Deputy Governor – that he envisioned a sharia-inspired nightlife entertainment network in Jakarta.

But we merely noted it, in a post which covered all the issues that were alarming normal people.

The Ugly Face of Islamist Intolerance!

Not that Sandiago Uno himself is in any way unprepossessing. On the contrary, he comes across as very presentable and personable!

    =====Gambar terkait

But now this rich, American-educated ( yes, truly!) entrepreneur has shown he’s a man of his word.

Sandiaga Uno to establish sharia tourism zone in Jakarta

    http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2017/06/28/sandiaga-uno-to-establish-sharia-tourism-zone-in-jakarta.html

Note, no question mark! This guy is serious about his plan, for the Senen area of  the capital.

“I think it will be interesting if there is a religious tourism zone [in the area], which is properly arranged with tents. Hence, mobility can be ensured.”

I welcome that last sentence. Mobility – the ability to get through Senen as fast as possible – would need to be an integral part of any such scheme, as many of us encounter horrendous traffic jams there.

    ……..

    …..

I sat on a  bus a month ago for nearly an hour, just waiting to get through the underpass beside the big shopping area.

But what delights would await folks who flitted in and out of Sandiago’s tents?

Many places popular with tourists who come to Jakarta feature what are invariably described as ‘sexy dancers.’

    =

    =

Not just ‘dancers,’ NB, which has always made me smile, wondering if the proprietors fear that patrons would not recognise the dancers’ sexiness without being told of it!

    –a–

However, I somehow doubt that the tents would accommodate any spectacle of that sort.

Sandiago previously talked of such joys as Koranic readings, but would that really draw shariah-fans to Jakarta when they can easily find THE REAL THING…

    =

    =

…by taking a short flight up to Indonesia’s most northerly province, ACEH, proudly dubbed by some of its inhabitants as the ‘Verandah of Mecca,’ the ONLY province in the archipelago where shariah is enshrined in the local legal code of law.

No tedious tents required there, because the quintessence of shariah morality is displayed in the main squares…

    …..

    ….

    …….

….young women being beaten by cowards too ashamed to show their faces, before a salivating rabble of voyeurs and fanatics.

Nor are dancers, either sexy or otherwise, a popular phenomenon up there, where such repositories of wisdom as this kindly old gent have made plain their demerits…

Why would anyone come to Jakarta for this? Aceh is shaming our country every day with the sharia law so no need to make sharia tourist place here in our city.
Every woman in Indonesia should protest.

Will Sandiago Uno also put dancing ban onto Jakarta?.
If not will he tell Aceh mullah to visit brain doctors?
Sandiago must make up his mind.
Aceh shows how shariah is cruel, for all but most specially for women.
I wish Ahok was still our governor. He made mistakes but he is not in prison for that. Only for free speech.that we no longer have and soon we women will have no freedom if shariah comes. .

      Congratulations, Ross.
You said everything I wanted to say when I read this but you said it better than I could, all those quotes and humorous angles that make fun of the whole thing.
A lot of Arab tourists come here but not to go to shariah shows. You must have seen them, chasing the working girls in the hotel bars.

I never go to Senen market for many years because there is too much pickpocking there. I do not want to loose my money or bag.
Now I think even more it is good idea not to go shopping there with too many FPI who think woman is less than man.
Better I will go to the Atrium mall near it but better still to nice place like you like at Citralan , It is safer there.
I think only fanatic same like FPI will use the place Sandiago is making so it is no good plan.

I wont be going to Senen but I never do anyway. Cnce was enough, hot and crowded and prices that rose soon as they saw I was foreign.
Shariah tourism is a joke, who would come here for that ? If they like watching women getting hurt for holding hands with their boyfriends they can go to Aceh as you say or some other terrible place, Iran or Saudi Arabia
More reasons to be cheerless but thats what Shariah is all about.

Goodevening, Ross, such a long time I do not comment but often I read an think you are doing good work for Indonesia and so tonight I say to myself, do not be lazy to comment.
This is all true and these FPI and the other fanatics are taking over. We lowly people have no way to stop them so we believed Jokowi will do it.
But sad to say it, we are mistaken.

Jakarta Post’s True Colours – ‘Hands off Islamists!’

Most of us understand the clear difference between Muslims and Islamists.

One of the former had a modest meal in my home last night. Another will likely drop by for a pleasant visit over the weekend. The folks I met up with in town yesterday were Muslims.

They are fasting, most of them, this Ramadhan. They don’t eat pork. Most of them don’t share my enthusiasm for beer.

    =

    =

They are normal people who follow their religious customs and respect the fact that a lot of people have either different religious practices or no religious affiliation at all.

    Islamists are something else entirely.

They are bigoted fanatics who are essentially intolerant and believe that their ways should dictate our ways. They hold power in Indonesia’s Aceh Province, where women of ANY creed are coerced into head-shrouding under the oppressive shariah code.

Islamist rule in Aceh is an endless nightmare…

The most notable Islamist spokesmen here in Jakarta are the self-styled ‘scholars’ of the MUI, and the thug gangs like the FPI…

    ………

    ………

…whose ‘high priest’ – currently keenly sought by the police – told us that Governor Ahok deserved death for the ridiculous ‘offence’ of ‘blasphemy,’ which in Ahok’s case merely comprised quoting a Koranic verse and questioning its meaning.

The MUI are also blood-thirsty, demanding stoning and flogging, not for criminals who seriously merit such punishment, like the savage mob who murdered the three Ahmadi martyrs at Cikeusik…

That’s who Islamists are, and what they do.

BUT…says the anonymous editorial  in the Jakarta Post…

…celebrations beyond this “Pancasila Week” must avoid worsening the mistake of suppressing Islamists.

    http://www.thejakartapost.com/academia/2017/05/31/editorial-a-pancasila-holiday.html

Okay, we know that the Jakarta Post’s parent company, Gramedia, has a shameful record of collaboration with the Islamists, to the extent of overseeing a Hitlerian book-burning bonanza in support of the MUI’s vendetta against freedom of thought and expression.

Jakarta Post – A Nelson’s Eye View Of ‘Pluralism!’

But so far, while editorial cowardice has prevented any condemnation of that Nazi-style arson, they have never openly endorsed it either.

Does this latest outbreak of Islamist empathy now signal that the JP is going belatedly to its support for Gramedia’s grisly intolerance?

A question all the more important as we celebrate this, Pancasila Day!

Good one again Ross and I hope that newspaper will make it clear too.
Did you read that terrible woman Julia Suryathing writing in the Jakarta Post about she thinks it was real progress to allow men to have four wives but nothing at all about how women dont get to have four husbands or three or two, only allowed one and that is her idea of progressive..

She also totally dodged saying if child marriage is right or wrong, She just mentioned it the once and made no judgment.call. I think the old girl must be scared she will upset the fanatics.
What a coward but thats the Jakarta Post for you.

However, you sum her up quite successfully.

Dancing Fountains in Jakarta? Wet T-Shirt Contests Daily?

I was all set to applaud the latest Jakarta improvement plans announced by Governor Ahok, but it seems I misconstrued the essential outline of one of the key plans that he envisages.

    ahok

Central Jakarta to have dancing fountain, wider sidewalks

    ””””

Skip the wider sidewalks – walking along Sudirman last night, the crackpot bikers were still zooming along areas clearly designed for pedestrians, as they have been doing for years…

    —————-

    fatahbikes

Not only on Sudirman, but in Kota too..

    —————

….so without guarantees on effective policing of these new wide sidewalks, I reserve judgement!

    Moreover…

Unlike my optimistic interpretation of a ‘dancing fountain’  – impressive jets of water spraying to and fro, in which dancing girls might frolic, in t-shirts and or bikinis...

    ——–

Hasil gambar untuk wet t-shirts fountain

    ————–

… it turns out the Guv’s version of ‘dancing fountains’ is less invigorating.

To revitalize the area, the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle (Bundaran HI) in Central Jakarta will soon encircle a dancing water fountain, which will stand within view of a park that will be built on the grounds of the former British Embassy.  http://www.thejakartapost.com/travel/2016/10/18/central-jakarta-to-have-dancing-fountain-wider-sidewalks.html

    Aaah, never mind.

Whatever, the Governor’s plan will undoubtedly prettify the city. And after all, I should have remembered that puritanical streak which mars Ahok’s otherwise sensible approach to things.

”Outrageous” Activity in Jakarta Pools? OMG – BIKINIS!

On the other hand, maybe he’ll reconsider.

A frolic fountain of the sort I’d imagined would at least have the merit of upsetting kill-joys, the fun-haters, of the sort we read about, bleating in the distant, intolerant climes of Aceh…

…where such bizarre assertions as ‘dancing is evil’ hold sway.

Droll but sad too, because forty or fifty years ago, I can tell you, bikinis in a public fountain here might well have happened.
Today, so many pollies and poiice got a jihadist stick up their ass, not a chance.

Aceh’s Shariah Savagery Shames Indonesia, Again!

    whatever__i_love_indonesia_by_NOF_artherapy

    ============

Anyone who cares about Indonesia’s reputation will have shuddered anew at the news from the barbarous province infamous for its shariah iniquities.

    • The Sharia Hell of Aceh!

      The Sharia Hell of Aceh!

    • Seven men and six women were publicly caned in the front yard of the Al Ikhlas Mosque…

    • …Banda Aceh deputy mayor Zainal Arifin and hundreds of residents witnessed the public punishment...

    • …the convicts were guilty of inappropriate acts, including khalwat (affectionate contact by an unmarried couple) and ikhtilat (intimacy or mixing) in violation of Islamic bylaws.

    http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2016/10/17/13-people-caned-for-indecency-in-aceh.html

Which is to say, none of these gals was probably even kissing a guy.

According to Malaysia’s Islamic Shariah laws, unmarried Muslims who meet in private can be charged with “khalwat,” or “close proximity,” which carries fines and prison sentences of several months. Campaign against Cupid targets Malaysia’s Muslims

That’s in Malaysia, but the fanatics there are little different from their fellow-fanatics in Aceh.

Maybe those poor kids weren’t even holding hands, just sitting with a boy-friend, or just a boy who happens to be a friend, all by themselves on a park bench.

    ——-.

    Shariah Controlled Zone_thumb[1]

Religious police have traditionally enforced a rigid separation of the sexes in public places, arresting those that commit the crime of ikhtilat, or “mixing.” Second-Class Citizens

That’s talking about Arabs, but Aceh is in many respects more Arabian than Indonesian.

Yet let’s be fair to the savages. They are not without some tiny tincture of humanity.

The caning of a 14th convict was delayed due to her pregnancy and is set to be carried out after she has given birth.

    quality-of-mercy-is-not-straind-it-droppeth-as-the-gentle-rain-from-heaven-upon-the-place-quote-1

Deputy mayor Zainal asserted that the punishment was meant to teach people a lesson so that they would not violate Islamic law.

    SICKO_logo-11

May God forgive these cruel creeps, because no civilised mortal should.

I grow weary sometimes of recording the antics of the primitive authorities up there on what they delight in calling the Verandah of Mecca.

But I feel obliged to do so.

Decent Indonesians, I know, share my revulsion, not at the punishments, because a good sound thrashing would be work well done on various thug-gangs all over the archipelago, like the IslamoNazi hoodlums in my fave photo…

    ———-

    FPI_13

    ——–

.., but at the absurd ‘offences’ the fanatics use to provide slobbering bigot audiences with the Acehnese equivalent of the ‘circus’ element of the ‘bread and circuses’ policy operated by dissolute Roman emperors two thousand years ago.

    And the ‘bread?’

Well, the quite numerous gross pigs in Aceh convicted of corruption seem never to get whipped. Such welcome scenes could be televised and would probably break all records in terms of nationwide viewing figures.

And the cheers would be deafening!

It is sickening, what they do to poor people who have done nothing wrong.
I like Indonesia and have many friends here who are embarassed by these public whippings of women by masked men outside the mosque.
I wish President Jokowi would step in and stop it.
