ITWA! Whose Red Flag Did Jakarta Fanatics Burn?

I wrote about this lady over a month ago…

    Very Brave Indonesian Lady

    …and now…ITWA!

    …it’s that woman again!

    Dewi Tanjung

As I explained then, Dewi Tanjung is a politician in one of the most pluralist parties, the PDI-P ( the party of President Jokowi) and she has gained a reputation for what’s described in the West as ‘shooting from the hip.’

Now she’s taking a legal pot-shot at the self-styled ‘Alumni,’ the PA 212, whom I have also mentioned from time to time.

They are the fanatic Islamists whose use of the word ‘alumni’ continues to baffle me, since in English it means graduates and the words and actions of those who participate in their demos…

The protesters, most of whom were men dressed in white Muslim attire, were heard yelling, “We want a Muslim governor,” “Burn Ahok!” and “Kafir!”   http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2016/10/14/thousands-hard-liners    ..

….do not suggest the style or substance of what one expects to hear in a typical Oxbridge junior common room!

Whilst I use my blog to express my anger and dismay at events here in Indonesia and around the world, the fanatics take to Jakarta’s streets…

Howling Hate, Islamist Bigot Wishes Corona On India!

Fanatics on the left, normal Indonesians on the right- a recent 212 demo in Jakarta!

Islamist Fanatics Rage At India – ‘Diskriminasi?’ Oya?’

…causing real traffic problems for honest citizens trying to go about their lawful business.

However, the PA212 and I have one common dislike!

However, whereas I focus on the realities of marxist evil, whether Adolf-the-Pooh’s Beijing version….

…or the Cultural Marxism of the BLM racist wreckers in the West…

…the ‘alumni’ prefer to focus on the long-banned ( and rightly banned!) PKI ( the Indonesian Communist Party ) which, while an undoubtedly treasonous and deplorable entity…

…commands almost no sympathy or support, apart from certain leftist media hacks.

There’s a current controversy over the PKI flag, which the ‘alumni’ appear to think is entangled with Dewi Tanjung’s PDI-P, for obscure reasons which you may examine here…

… and now Dewi has turned the tables, reporting them to the police, for possession of that beastly banner!

My purpose here is to report the Presidium 212 regarding ownership, storage and publication of the PKI flag,” Dewi said at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police SPKT, South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 15, 2020.

Dewi explained that it is not sold in markets, so she is suspicious about the provenance of the banned party flag. “We want to question, where they had it, before they had it burned during their demonstrations,” said Dewi.

Previously, the burning of the PDIP flag and the PKI flag occurred during a demonstration against the HIP bill at the Indonesian House of Representatives on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. The burning video went viral on social media….

While burning a Communist banner is an agreeable pastime, if you do so in a country where possession of a Communist flag is prohibited….

….how come you were in possession of the damned red rag before you burned it?

One looks forward to a full and frank fanatic response!

    Indonesia’s Islamists Threaten Mob Mayhem!

As previously noted, not least by my commenters, that blonde fanatic Bahar Bin Smith, after his release under the Virus Amnesty…

Virus Amnesty – Indonesian Fanatic Released!

    Bahar bin Smith.

…,had to be promptly rearrested, after a mob of his acolytes showed up for one of his ‘lectures’ and distance rules were flouted.

Some might think it sensible of the authorities to deposit him not in a local jail but in the high security prison far away at Nusa Kambangan….

…which would require serious trekking for wannabe protesters!

undeterred, the extremists are threatening not just a demo, once next week’s Idul Fitri holiday is over, but absolute mayhem, an invasion of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, here in Jakarta, if the ranter is not turned loose.

Smith’s attorney, Aziz Yanuar, was quoted as saying-

It is also possible that we will occupy the ministry for an audience with the Directorate General of Corrections and the Minister, accompanied by a crowd of hundreds or even thousands…”

Indonesian Islamist fanatics in the past wore masks, not for health reasons but from fear of identification and well-deserved arrest…or maybe they were just shy!

While this suggestion of mob intimidation is concerning, I had to laugh at his ridiculous use of the hackneyed and entirely inaccurate deployment of the term ‘Long March!’

If the plan was to march from Jakarta to the prison in the Javanese hinterland, that would be a long way to go.

    But no way!

“We will long march to the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights,” Aziz said.

    Oh, yeah!

    The soft-shoe shuffle routine, again!

    We’ve been here before!

Beware! Very Short Fanatic ‘Long March,’ Jakarta, This Friday!

Not a fan in any sense of Red China’s Mass-Murderer Mao, I am aware nevertheless that his famous ‘Long March’ across that vast country was indeed long.

Like English, Indonesian is ever-ready to borrow foreign words and phrases, and as you can see, if you read the link, even detik.com has done so.

Here’s their headline from a previous Jakarta time of troubles.

Rencana Aksi 313, Salat Jumat di Istiqlal Kemudian Long March ke Istana

    ‘Long March?’

    My Ass!

    Like other such manifestations…

Jakarta Mosque – Yellow-Bellies Bash, Spit On, Journos!

…the actual shuffle (‘march’) back then went from the big Istiqlal Mosque down to President Jokowi’s palace.

Hasil gambar untuk istana negara istiqlal map

I could do that in about twenty minutes, max!

And I used to enjoy a Sunday stroll, from quite near the ministry mentioned above, up to the Monas park area, right by Jokowi’s palace!

Again I scoff at the notion that it’s a ‘Long March!’

But, again as I said before, the shufflers, sorry, marchers, have to proceed slowly, to accommodate ranting.

It must take your breath away when you repeatedly indulge in sectarian hollering, as heard when the shufflers were out to get Jakarta’s good Governor Ahok.

Ahok, later imprisoned for ‘blasphemy’  – seriously, in the 21st century!

The protesters, most of whom were men dressed in white Muslim attire, were heard yelling, “We want a Muslim governor,” “Burn Ahok!” and “Kafir!”   http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2016/10/14/thousands-hard-liners-march-against-ahok.htm

Just for good measure, there’s a demand that President Jokowi fire both the Minister of Law and Human Rights, Yasonna Laoly and the Corrections Director, Reinhard Silitonga.

Never to be outdone, that notorious Alumni 212 gang are gearing up to join in.

For more about that lot, read this –

Islamist Fanatics Rage At India – ‘Diskriminasi?’ Oya?’

One can only hope President Jokowi will stand firm against any such attempt at mob rule.

But after what happened to Ahok, who knows?

No they never march for long distance but so many extremist people on the road make long traffic jam because they always pick working day not weekend.
They like to make life hard for us honest work people.
      Not now! Hahaha!b
In virus time we are all WFH so we will dissappoint them!

Virus Amnesty – Indonesian Fanatic Released!

While so far we’ve noted the release of common criminals under Indonesia’s Program Asimilasi ( virus amnesty)…

Machetes? Swords? Another ‘Virus Amnesty’ Thug!

…this time it’s an Islamist fanatic, who, barely nine months ago, was sentenced to three years imprisonment for serious offences.

    Bahar bin Smith.

According to Tempo, the unusual looking Bahar bin Smith got out of prison in Bogor on Saturday and was whisked off by his chums in the so-called ‘Presidium Alumni 212.’

That PA 212 outfit comprises the crowd who organised the sectarian mob that swarmed Jakarta streets, as we reported at the time…

Jakarta Christian Governor Ahok, imprisoned for ‘blasphemy…’

The protesters, most of whom were men dressed in white Muslim attire, were heard yelling, “We want a Muslim governor,” “Burn Ahok!” and “Kafir!”   http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2016/10/14/thousands-hard-liners

    Slouching Towards Sharia

….until the much-admired Governor Ahok was convicted of ‘blasphemy’ and jailed.

The Tempo article is not without entertainment value, or perhaps insights into the mind-set of criminals here.

Before leaving, Bahar still had a good time with hundreds of other inmates, said one of his fan-club.

The convicts seemingly had ‘tears in their eyes’ on the occasion of his release!

Anyone wishing to know the details of why this man went to jail in the first place should read this report…

    …and this report...

….recording the menacing words he directed ( when he was convicted ) towards Indonesia’s President Jokowi

…and ask why such a character should not serve his full sentence.

And already he has been warned for breaking rules on social distance!
Maybe he soon goes back to prison!

    • Jim Ex Jakarta 12:50 on May 19, 2020 Permalink | Reply

That ‘Smith’ is back in trouble again. Got a crowd of his ‘students’ together, not an inch of distance between them.
He seems to like being in trouble so I hope the police don’t let him get out of it!

    • Intan 13:03 on May 19, 2020 Permalink | Reply

I think it’s terrible that this fanatic is let out for no good reasons.
Evenso I read in the West also there are the dangerous prisoners and illegal immigrants coming out of cells and making a big risk for the citizens.
Every government better to put them all back into the cells.

    • Wahyu 12:13 on May 20, 2020 Permalink | Reply

Yes, he was taken to a high security prison, not just for having got crowded people to his speech but for inciting people.
Now he can talk stuff like that to the prisoners again but it is wise I think if he is alone in his cell, no contagion risk.

Howling Hate, Islamist Bigot Wishes Corona On India!

I begin with my own translation of the benighted bleat to be found in detik.com’s report on the demo in Jakarta yesterday, which, as we foretold…

Islamist Fanatics Rage At India – ‘Diskriminasi?’ Oya?’

…caused real traffic problems for honest citizens trying to go about their lawful business.

Fanatics on the left, normal Indonesians on the right. That was last Friday – no doubt the same again yesterday.

    Here’s my translation

It’s to be hoped that the corona virus will not afflict Indonesia.

”It’s to be hoped that corona’s only in China, screamed the orator, who evoked screams of ‘Amin’ from the mob.”

Nice to note the rabble numbered hundreds rather than thousands, but let’s stick with the ‘orator,’ unfortunately not named, who wasn’t done, not bloody likely!

It’s to be hoped that the next virus outbreak will head for India…Amen, amen amen..”

If you doubt my translation, check for yourselves!

Aamiin… aamiin… aamiin…,” sambung orator.

To hope the virus stays in China, which non-illiterates already know is not going to happen, is one thing.

To hope Indonesia stays virus-free? Understandable, but again, too late. We had a case on the news this week

But to wish it on India, or any other country?

How vicious, how nasty, can it get?

And indeed, how pig-ignorant, for an Islamist fanatic to savour the prospect of a dangerous disease spreading to a country…

Population. With around 201 million Muslims (2018 estimate), India’s Muslim population is about the world’s second-largest and the world’s largest Muslim-minority population. India is home to 11% of the world’s Muslim population.

….which has  – how many…millions, 30, 40 million, no, over 200 million of his co-religionists among its citizens!

Or is the ‘orator’ so bigoted that he imagines the virus will by-pass Muslims, only affecting Hindus, Christians, Sikhs and Buddhists?

By the way, the corona virus has already hit India, with over 80 people dead.

How the deceased worshipped, I have no idea.

    • JazPen 17:52 on March 14, 2020 Permalink | Reply

      Thanks for this, Ross.
What a moron, an Islamist wanting to see a deadly virus appear in a country with a 200 million Muslim minority.
I admit I didnt know there were that many Muslims in India.
Anyway, wishing diseases onto innocent people of any religion is bad but no more than I expect from that mob.
Do more like this, please! These fanatics should be outed and shamed.
Oh, your translation and your report are both very good.
      Well done.

The hate these people vomit out!
What annoys me most is that these jerks seem to think it’s okay to talk like that in public. Their moms and pops didn’t take a stick to them often enough when they were of an impressionable age.
      Still, it’s never too late!
      Nice work, this one, Ross.
I read there was talk of ‘sweeping’ against Indian expats. Any plan to write about that?

    • Astuti 09:50 on March 15, 2020 Permalink | Reply

      Stupid and cruel, that orator.

    • Kezia 22:20 on March 16, 2020 Permalink | Reply

I was happy to read this but you can add to it by using the information from this

That explains how another ‘orator’ made a threat to start burning the Indian Embassy.
Why did the reporter not find out the name of this person?
Why did the police not arrest him? It is incitement to criminal activity.
Please write more about these extremists like you use to.

Jakarta Facing Another Fanatic Friday – and Thursday…and Besok?

Besok is Indonesian for tomorrow, but is often used like the Spanish magnana,  anytime soon!

However, the fanatics here in Jakarta have been more specific, with the official spokesman of the ‘Alumni 212 Brotherhood’ declaring that we can expect traffic disruption not only on Friday, but also on Thursday and even tomorrow, 26 June.

They are angry about the fact their favourite, Prabowo, lost the presidential election and aim to protest the court ruling on the outcome.

    Indonesia’s Constutional Court

In case anyone imagines the ‘Alumni’ are in any sense an educational outfit, they’re not. They are extremists, not merely hostile to President Jokowi, but also, largely, if not completely, directed by Islamists.

Indeed, the spokesman mentioned is none other than that paragon of enlightened tolerance, Novel Bamukmin…

    habib novel Supreme leadershipfpi

Habib Novel – “women already have limitations, let alone non- Muslims!” http://megapolitan.kompas.com/read/2013/10/26/1937287/.FPIMenolak.Lurah.Susan.Harga.Mati

….a leading light in the vigilante gang that calls itself the Islam Defenders’ Front…

    …the FPI.

The peak of the action will be Friday 28 June, “ he told the media, but “ it’ll be every day, 25, 26, 27 and 28th….”  https://www.tagar.id/tak-hiraukan-prabowo-pa-212-dan-gnpfulama-demo-di-mk

You’ll notice today’s date is included, but since I have only been as far as my local warteg for lunch…

…who knows how downtown may be?

Even so, my bus journey yesterday was disrupted by hundreds of security personnel preparing for trouble outside the  court, so it’s hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

What’s most annoying is that the date of the verdict announcement is no longer Friday but Thursday, but the fanatics like their Friday fun.

Most of them don’t seem to have work to go to, so the decent majority of the capital’s citizens, who do engage in honest toil, just have to suck it up, while ranters rant on.

    • JazPen 15:48 on June 25, 2019 Permalink | Reply

You forgot to mention they link their rant- outings to when they have their Friday prayers.
I hear there are plans to get the verdict out asap, but that won’t stop those whose lives revolve around ranting.

    • Kezia 16:00 on June 25, 2019 Permalink | Reply

Even Prabowo told them there is no need for a demo this week but still they want to make trouble for us who must get to work.
My American friends say ‘“Sore losers,” but all they are is losers.

    • Tyas 16:19 on June 25, 2019 Permalink | Reply

Many governors of provinces are asking the fanatics to respect the court ruling and not go there to rant.
I hope the good people can go to work without problem every day this week.

Rant is a good word for what the FPI do, so I will use it often. Thank you!
