I went a few times to different countries in the post-Communist Balkans and I would say the big difference in their outlook is what you said about Poland in your PS, Ross.
People who lived under oppressive foreign rule felt a need to hold on tightly to their national identity..
Now they see this mob attacking the Greek border. They are not stupid and they know what has been going on next door in Austria, same in Germany.
They are not going to stand for violent anti-social migrants bothering women and children and they are not going to make their objections quietly either.
A lot of Germans, Austrians and Swedes feel as strongly but they are conditioned by the political class not to say what they think.
Serbs, Greeks, Bulgarians, Croats? Not conditioned to turn the other cheek.
They will fight.
There is something sick that the only public reaction when a friendly country is under attack, all the demonstrations in Western Europe are in favour of the attackers.
In case you don’t already know, that’s the German word for lying media, and if you challenge that Enemy Within, you pay a price.
