RIP Tara Farez! Target Of Evil Shot Dead

The world is drabber today, a lovely young lady shot to death in a Baghdad taxi.

Tara Fares had previously received death threats from supporters of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)   http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/iraqi-model-tara-fares-shot-dead-in-baghdad-after-threats-137327 .

Image result for iraqi beauty queen tara

We don’t yet know the exact circumstances but we know that sectarian bigots disliked her, to put it mildly, because she saw no reason to shroud her good looks, and express her opinions.

The photo above shows how attractive she was, evidently no time for the offensively misdescribed ‘modest fashions‘ – a phrase which is an insult to every decent woman who dresses modestly but doesn’t get uptight about guys seeing her hair or her shoulders  – or her knees or any other part of her body blessed by her Maker with beauty.

It may have been that Tara was murdered by a common criminal or a random psycho, but in the climate of hatred fostered by ‘aurat’ extremists…

‘Fathers and husbands, their aurat is your responsibility!’

…creatures who abhor women unashamed of their beauty, Dark Agers who believe women have to be controlled by their fathers and/or husbands, who knows?

I see that Tara had taken to living much of the time in Kurdistan, where more civilised values prevail.

I also see that even beauticians have been targeted in Iraq, two having died in mysterious circumstances in their respective homes. The beauticians’ deaths fostered concerns over militias and armed groups systematic targeting of beauty center owners.   http://www.kurdistan24.net/en/news/c1ddd610-007f-4716-a1db-b42b936307ad

How utterly sad, to be slain for being attractive.

    RIP, Tara!

Your two pictures sum up what is wrong with our immigration policy.
Normal healthy women, Muslim or any religion, fleeing from backward sexism, should be made welcome. It’s a shame Tara didn’t come here.
Ignorant sexist pigs, like the ‘fathers and husbands’ who treat their women like posessions, should never be allowed to come to a civilized country.

All this shouting and screaming about women and their rights?
What about this young woman and her rights!
      The right to life?
If the men in any country are raised to think women are subject to their command, even on a thing like what they wear when they go shopping, this kind of crime is going to happen.

Very much what I felt like saying when I saw on the news about the murder of this poor young woman.
Sharia societies degrade women from the moment they are born.

One can only be saddened by an an irrational act of violence like this.

Sad but inevitable, when there is an entire culture devoted to keeping women down.
It will produce men, if we can call them men, whose reaction to resistance by bright young women is murder.
I suppose Tara’’s good looks were just an added provocation.

If she had hidden what God gave her, she might have escaped with a lesser punishment.
No matter how we worship, we should say a prayer for her soul.

We have problems here but compared to places like that, we are lucky.
On the other hand, Merkel and Macron and May are all happy to let the same cancer develop and grow here.
Time to cut it out, right?

Today Is International Day Of The Girl!

I was only alerted to the fact that today was ‘International Day of the Girl’ about an hour ago, by a helpful reader who reckons I should make mention thereof.

    And so we should!

    But how?

I’m torn between composing something very serious, about how every girl on the planet, and all us guys who like ’em, should seek to have a global ban imposed on shariah law…

    …which relegates females to second-class status…

…putting together a paragraph of thanks to The Almighty for providing girls in the first place, for otherwise life would be very dull indeed!

But the fact is that I have done both often enough, the iniquities of shariah…

Iran – Contemptible Swedish Cows Crawl To Shariah Sexists

Malaysia Truly Arabia – Shariah Gestapo Drag Bride From Wedding!

Aceh’s Mad Mullah – ‘Dancing is EVIL – It Involves Body Movements!’

    …and the celebration of feminity…

…I wonder whatever happened to her, after she lost her job for being gorgeous!

Kasihan Zuhal Sengul – Hot Turkish Delight Fired By Kill-Joys!

So since it’s late in the day here in Jakarta, and I want to relax with a snack before I watch ‘Luther’ on tv, I simply leave it to you to open up those old links above and reaffirm both solidarity with and appreciation of girls.

Asia’s Next Top Model…Could Well Be…May From Myanmar!

Somewhat against my better judgement, I tuned in again to Asia’s Top Model.

Why the reluctance? Because I saw the previews and was appalled at one puffed-up oaf who was interviewing them, yelling and bawling at one poor girl who had the temerity to roll her eyes.

This for some reason incensed the rude and raucous man, who denounced her for her ‘misbehaviour,’ saying he’d never ever hire her!

God knows if I were interviewed in such a manner, for any job, I’d walk out, probably after telling him to add a bit of class to his act. I can tolerate dimwits, but slobs, no way.

There’s a true tale of a Jakarta-based American teacher who was invited in by a professor at a famous university ‘ to talk about a class.’

    i love jkt

The Yank travelled miles from the edge of town to the college, which is not far from Citraland Mall. When he arrived, the ignorant old dope told him, ‘Yes, I thought it more appropriate to advise you face-to-face that we’re not going to run that course.’

The Yank just went home. I might have defenestrated the toad.

    However, back to the dolly-birds.

For want of anything better to view, I switched over to Star World and settled down –  to watch them all being given new hair-dos!

Some were none the worse for the scissors, but May of Myanmar emerged exquisite! Not only does she have a captivating look to her, but her hair actually looked better ‘after’ than ‘before!’

Not every other contestant could say the same. Incidentally, there now seem to be two Indonesians, whereas last time I only noticed one!

Good luck to Ardilla as well as Patricia.

But back to May of Myanmar!

    May of Myanmar

I know little of her country and that’s maybe the reason why I’ve pondered it as a possible safe haven if  – Heaven Forbid – departure from Indonesia ever became a necessity.

After all, way back when, I chose Indonesia because, despite equally good offers in Bangkok and Hanoi, this was ‘terra incognita.’

And the fetching May is another good reason to contemplate emulation of Orwell’s Burmese Days.

No point in describing all the other lovelies.

But I have to say the whining little minx from Vietnam, named Mai Ngo, is a total pain in the backside. While the other gals protested politely during the hair-stylist’s attentions, like the Singapore beauty who was clearly anxious but calm, the Vietnamese was simply an embarrassment to herself and to the show.

Then lo and behold, she was sent packing!

And the nasty bully in the interview scene – that must be next week!

Or was it last week? No doubt somebody will tell me!

Now, a lazy night, I’ve got The History Channel on, with ostensibly serious people discussing whether the conflicts in the Middle East are somehow fomented by space-aliens to prevent us learning their role in human affairs.

Myanmar deserves a visit at least. Seeing May’s photo here makes me think there are a lot more like her but you never hear about Burmese girls.
I have also been asking myself how long before Indonesia goes down the sharia tube. It’s a terrible shame Jokowi isn’t applying that ‘Mental Revolution’ he promised and getting rid of mental cases like those you condemn in so many of your posts.
Ahok is now disappointing the poor people too, who hoped he would be different from the rest. I’m sending you a note about what happened in my part of Jakarta, the Satpol having a bunch of warungs wrecked for no reason at all.
Don’t take my word for it.
I think you live somewhere near Grogol, so can you please come over and check it out and write something?

I want of course Indonesian girls to win because I am Indonesian too..
But if not so, I think the girl of Korea is best. She is very cute.

Kecantikan Dilarang – Fat-Ass Feminists Get Bikini Ad Banned!

Believe it or not, this innocuous advertisement has been banned in Britain!

I have often had to post on imbecilic censorship here in Indonesia, the way TV channels have to impose silly little opaque obstacles to deny us a decent view of cleavage, etc.

Dimana Bokong2nya? – Where Are Our Buttocks?

But that’s just backward benighted kill-joys, you say – no way such nonsense would occur in the West.

    But it has!

It’s been banned by the UK Advertising Standards Authority!

A couple of uptight bints, named Tara Costello and Fiona Longmuir, have mobilised a monstrous regiment of pitifully inadequate and/or grotty women, to protest against ‘body-shaming media!’

Some clown named Charlotte Baring (all?) has begun a petition, shrilling that “Protein World is directly targeting individuals, aiming to make them feel physically inferior to the unrealistic body image of the bronzed model, in order to sell their product,http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/health/news/11571978/Beach-body-ready-campaign-to-be-investigated-by-watchdog.html.

A  ‘taking back the beach’ event has been held for grotbags last weekend in Hyde Park, hundreds of women with less than perfect shapes out to display their jealousy…

… and Protein World has been getting death threats!

Now if there’s a question over the ad’s claims about the benefits of the product, okay – if it’s misleading over facts, then the ASA has the right and duty to intervene.

But it’s gone way over the top, accepting as legitimate the mini-tsunami of complaints NOT about the factual claims but about ‘hurt feelings.’

The ASA will investigate the ads to see if they are in breach of the UK code relating to taste, decency and harm and offence..

Look at these photos – do they upset you?

There’s nothing remotely offensive about lovely young girls in a bikini – except of course to a pack of tantrum-prone tarts whose personal appearance can’t hack it…

…. and who therefore just HATE to see a woman with a worthwhile figure held up for public admiration.

What the hell do these creepy cows expect to see on an add?

    fat woman

    Or this?

The obese and the skeletal females pictured above may be charming and clever, but I would NOT want to look at them as illustrations on an ad for a health product or for any other reason.

    They are off-putting.

The model in the Protein ad is not. She’s attractive.

And I understand why unattractive women might find the ad a turn -off.

But their hurt feelings are their problem. Not grounds for censorship.

      Death threats?
      Over a bikini advert?
You can take the mickey out of these people as you do, Ross, but we cant get away from the evidence that they are dangerous lunatics.
I followed one of the links and saw the Protein World boss calling them terrorists and no wonder.
Some good photos, though. Makes Monday bearable.

      Sad little ‘chubsters!’
That’s a good word used by Katie Hopkins about them.
I’m not exactly sylph-like myself, but why be paranoid like that Baring woman?
No photos of her, Ross? Is she not a good fit for your gallery?

Wow! Putri Indonesia 2015 – Anindya Kusuma Putri !

I must admit, when they cut the range down to a choice of ten, my own likeliest lasses were Jawa Barat, NTB and Lampung.

    audisi2015a Wow, wow,wow!

But in all honesty, the final decision on this year’s Miss Indonesia would be difficult for anyone to make, all those gorgeous gals to be judged on distinctions that no contestant lacked.

The talking bit was unusually interesting, partly because Miss Jakarta’s English skills were so good – coulda been one of my students half-a-dozen years ago (I wish!)

But also because Miss Jambi got a question on whether she agreed with the death penalty for drug-smugglers!

    indonesia drugs

She replied with vigorous approval and received a cheer from the audience.

Kinda heavy stuff for a beauty contest!

Again, for overseas readers, ya gotta be here to appreciate how kind God has been in his gift of beauty to Indonesian womanhood.

Take a short-cut through any Matahari Department Store (there’s at least one on Bali, in Kuta, for all you Aussies who vacation there) and have a gander.

    But whatever, congratulations, to….

    Anindya Kusuma Putri

No complaints. I have every reason to delight in Central Java girls!

    Do us proud, honey!

And keep being proud of your beauty – don’t let the scarf-bigots get you down!   https://rossrightangle.wordpress.com/2015/02/20/putri-indonesia-arf-arf-scarf-scarf-intolerant-islamists-bark-at-beauty/

Roro Fitria – Kecantikan Paling Mahal Di Dunia?

Viva.co.id -reveals that the stunningly beautiful dangdut star, Roro Fitria,  spends nearly THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS A MONTH on her looks.

“It’s expensive, but appearance is important.”

A gift for understatement, this gal. But why not?

It’s her money! “I look after my good looks and care for my body from head to toe,”

The journo records her own, possibly unobjective, opinion, that Roro’s tone of voice is spoilt.  http://life.viva.co.id/news/read/587781-biaya-fantastis-kecantikan-roro-fitria–rp290-juta-per-bulan

Note I refer to the reporter as ‘her.’ A guy would be unlikely to interject malice, not if he had had the chance to spend time up close to this –

Mind you, exactly how close can one hope to get, in the face of God-given obstacles to proximity?

Roro reckons the total cost could be even higher, if facials etc. are added on. But it’s worth it, she says, because she wants to give her best when appearing in public and and before her fans.

She adds that some of her beauty treatments are slightly painful, but no matter.

    •  Nia Daniaty
    • Roro unburdened herself of this info on a tv show here called Pesbukers.

I haven’t watched it – presumably it’s ANTV’s take-off of Facebook, because many Indonesians pretend they can’t pronounce the letter F; streets like Jalan Falatehan are mis-spelt Palatehan.

But the F/P thing is a total nonsense, inexplicable but easily punctured, if you ask them what big day comes at the end of Ramadhan.

It’s Idul Fitri – and nobody ever says Idul Pitri!

Another, less upfront but still beautiful, guest celebrity, Nia Daniaty, is quoted as saying she’s surprised. And so am I.

Roro has so many innate advantages in the beauty stakes (well, two, for a start) that splurging so much cash on enhancing her appeal seems crazy.

Hell, if she popped up in front of me having just been dragged backwards through a hedge, I’d probably burst into song.

But then I, unlike Nia and the journalista, am a bloke.
