.   Last week, police arrested four people in The Hague after they stormed a building where anti-Black Pete activists were gathered, smashing windows and throwing fireworks in an apparent attempt to intimidate them.

The Kingdom of the Netherlands is one of Europe’s oldest democracies. So whatever whining minorities may say, what counts is what the majority want.

And a recent opinion poll showed 59% of Dutch people wanted to keep “Zwarte Piet” in blackface…

Another 26% said the tradition needed to be changed gradually.

The louts’ motivation was simply snarling hatred of a harmless Netherlands Christmas tradition, Black Piet, who, as  Santa’s helper, has been a much-loved festive figure for hundreds of years there.

Back then, the trouble-makers had the backing of some arrogant sticky-beaks known as the ‘UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination,’ which denouncedi Zwarte Piete as a “vestige of slavery.”

Have these supranational slugs got nothing better to do, was one possible retort, though at the time, I only asked what business it was of pinko ratbags?

This year though, in keeping with the treacherous character of Europe’s state broadcasters, the loutish leftists have a new ally, the Dutch public broadcaster NTR, which, with no democratic mandate, is unilaterally instituting deliberate politically motivated censorship.

Instead of proper blackface, NTR’s Piet ‘would this year be played by performers with soot on their faces.’

“The NTR respects both tradition and change, but it is our public duty as an independent public broadcaster to reflect these changes in society,” the broadcaster said.

What changes!?!

NTR didn’t have the cojones to spell out what it meant, nor has any vote been taken among those who pay the fat salaries of the NTR uppities.

But the only significant alteration to Dutch society in recent years has been immigration from backward countries by primitives devoid of ANY affinity with Dutch culture or traditions.

Those that cannot, or will not, should be taught to say thank you, every time they pass a real Netherlander on the street, to indicate their appreciation of  being allowed into somebody else’s country.

If they cannot get into the habit of common civility, then they should get kicked out, with a sturdy wooden clog, ideally, and return to savour the joys of life in whatever cesspool they crawled out of.

The one thing that should absolutely not happen is alteration of any part of the Dutch way of life to suit immigrants.
