And Heaven Bless, The Maple Leaf Forever!

So the Senate has approved making the National Anthem match the Prime Minister.

‘O Canada’ is now to be ‘gender neutral,’ despite the entrenched opposition of some Conservative senators.http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/anthem-bill-passes-senate-1.4513317

Since the Commons had already ‘overwhelmingly’ voted for the change, that’s it, once Royal Approval is given.

Seems at least one Conservative suggested letting mere citizens of Canada be consulted…

…but that was no more likely than back when Pearson changed the flag, when he asked the Opposition to knuckle under on the issue and when my kinsman, Rt, Hon. J Waldo Monteith, MP for Perth County, told him to ‘Drop Dead!’

No referendum, no consultation, just almighty politicians, we-know-best, so bye-bye, Red Ensign.

Well, I shall sing the old words, just as I have my Red Ensign here in Jakarta.

I often wonder why ‘O Canada’ was chosen over that grand old rousing anthem, ‘The Maple Leaf Forever.’

But then the know-alls would have had to re-write the whole damn thing!

The Thistle, Shamrock, Rose Entwine? – Racist!

God Save Our Queen?   Might get through, if it’s construed as a reference to Pretty Boy Justin.

And how about bringing the flag up to date?

With Turdo welcoming back evil scum from the ISIS rape-gang…

… will he now seek to have some element of their satanic death-cult incorporated into Canada’s emblem, just to make them feel more at home?

Oh boy, is this a joy to read.
We the people get to vote every four or five years or whatever then we get shut out of decision-making even on things that should not be party political..
Things like the anthem and the flag should be above politics.

No more line about ‘in all our sons command’ in O Canada.
Why did Turdo’s team in parliament not just replace that terrible word ‘sons’ with ‘children of undecided gender’ and Turdo would be immortalised every time it is sung.

Just to check out the details, didnt Jay Waldo Monteith say – ‘You must be nuts?’ when Pearson wanted the Tories to roll over?

        You have it right, Jim.
I was a very young fellow when he said it and everybody we knew in Perth County rejoiced at his put-down of Pearson. But the essence of his interjection was certainly ‘drop dead,’ so although I ‘mis-spoke,’ when I quoted him, I was not misrepresenting his sentiments!

Turdostan’s Flag Replaces Canada’s At Sydney Consulate!

We were out for a drive one day last week, and as always, I was happily viewing all the changes in Sydney. NB – By that, I mean new buildings, older ones redone by new managements, etc.

Sometimes these are an improvement on what was there before, other times..well, not so much!

But the one change that appalled me was downtown.

As we zoomed past the Canadian Consulate, which is high up on a building near the southern approach to the Sydney Harbour Bridge…

…I glanced up to check the Canadian Flag was still on display.

    It’s easily spotted.

Regular readers will know that my heart always beats more strongly for the glorious Red Ensign, which was replaced by the Maple Leaf in 1965, without the courtesy of a referendum, by the way...

But since members of Canada’s armed forces have fought and died beneath the Maple Leaf banner, I accord the current flag all due respect and honour.

Imagine my dismay when, instead of the familiar colours up there above the streets of Sydney…

On asking around, the only explanation I could get was that Justin Turdo’s local envoy, presumably under orders from Pretty Boy in Ottawa…

…has decided to fly this weird piece of cloth to mark what is advertised as the Mardi Gras Parade, due this coming Saturday…

…when, praise be, I will have long been back in Jakarta, where that kind of cr-p is unlikely to be countenanced!

PS – As a footnote question, how many people still recall when Mardi Gras, descended from an ancient Christian holiday…-

…was a cheerful and popular festival for normal people.

Now its meaning has become almost as totally bastardised as that nice old word ‘gay’ – that, older readers may remember, once meant ‘joyful.’

    Changed days!

You’re lucky you can get out the city, mate.
Sydneysiders who don’t like seeing our city centre taken over by perverts will be staying home this weekend. I read the disgusting way the ‘gays’ behave in their Toronto parade and I used to feel sorry for Canadians but now its come here to Australia.
It looks like Turnbull and his ‘gay and hearty’ party in parliament are going to cheat us of the referendum they promised. so Australia may be heading down the same road as Canada..
