Jakarta – Don’t Wear Berets Or Stripey Jerseys Today!

The cartoonophobe fanatics finally got their act together and are staging that demo in Jakarta today!

    .

    .

My headline is jokey but advice from those who know is – avoid the area of the French Embassy on Jalan Thamrin.

    Or stay home altogether…

    …but who does that?

      Watching the news.
No big trouble at the French Embassy.
Not what I expected, but our French friends should still be en garde!

Jakarta Fanatics “Can’t Prevent” Harassment Of French Expats!

So this very overcast day, more traffic chaos likely in Jakarta, as the most extreme fanatics in Indonesia plan to ‘visit’ the French Embassy, which is on a normally very busy main road downtown…

    .

….the ‘visit’ not, of course, to express sympathy at the beheading of a brave Parisian teacher by an evil barbarian….

Good Shot, French Cops! One More Filthy Savage In Hell!

…but to vent their spleen over President Macron’s response to the brutal sectarian crime.

    .

.Macron Man – ‘Dissolve Enemies of France’ – Why Only Now?

As of tomorrow, Jakarta is on holiday, an Islamic holiday affording everyone a very long weekend, Wednesday through Friday, so traffic will be light.  A demo tomorrow would thus not much impact traffic.

Greater disruption will be imposed on honest working citizens as the fanatics turn out to do their thing today, but tough on honest working citizens!

‘PA212’ are evidently unable to restrain their urge to take to the streets.

‘PA212?’ For more about that lot, read this  Islamist Fanatics Rage At India – ‘Diskriminasi?’ Oya?’

    000000000

But they’re the crowd that prides itself on having overseen marches (shuffles, actually) distinguished by hollering about ex-Governor Ahok, of whom they disapproved.

    .

Ahok, now, thankfully out of prison, after being convicted ( in the 21st century, incredibly!) of ‘blasphemy!’

But a march/shuffle, or a ‘visit’ or a demo, or whatever, is one thing.

The cops here are used to such antics and can handle such situations.

What is much more sinister is the assertion by their ubiquitous spokesman, Novel Bakmunin…

    .

Novel has featured here before, for enlightened statement which bring such credit to his cause.   – “women already have limitations, let alone non- Muslims!” http://megapolitan.kompas.com/read/2013/10/26/1937287/.FPIMenolak.Lurah.Susan.Harga.Mati

Jakarta Facing Another Fanatic Friday – and Thursday…and Besok?

….that there’s no way they can restrain any ‘umat Islam’ ( Muslims) who might want to go ‘sweeping’ against French citizens who happen to be in Indonesia.

That weasel word ‘sweeping’ is not Indonesian, of course, but I include the sentence from the local media to illustrate how it has become embedded in the vocabulary here……

    …a sick euphemism for harassment!

Novel is also a notable figure in the FPI, whose attitude towards people who upset them is displayed to perfection…

    ..

    …in the above photograph!

We have seen it all before, but how will the wannabe ‘sweepers’ identify French people?

It’s not even as if all French citizens are white!

Will the self-righteous  bullies accost any foreign-looking folks going about legitimate business in the city, arrogantly demanding to see their passports?

If so, one hopes all honest expats will give such insolent importunates the brush-off, perhaps with this admonition….

    .

    .

…and that the police will scoop up any such obnoxious oafs, safeguarding civilised people from malevolent molestation.

Meanwhile, let’s hope it rains, heavily!

We need to look out for French people here and be ready to help if need be.
Who knows, we could be the next target for the thugs if our government does something in supporr of free speech.

      Very well said, Ross!
You should get back to your good old weekly blasts against the Islamists in Indonesia?
That fanatic uses the word ‘umat’ as if Muslims are a monolithic bloc of self-righteous extremists. They are not, not in Indonesia, as you well know.
I know you were always always having Muslim guests in your house and socialised with Muslims you got on well with.

Nothing on Metro or Kompas News about that bunch. Did the rain deter them or did they for once feel sorry for all the people who use streets on working days for normal purposes?
Good idea, watch out for our French fellow-foreigners. These sweepers are cowards, never bold unless its six to one odds.
