Investigators from the Sub Directorate of Renakta Polda Metro Jaya have searched Islamic boarding school to find evidence related to the alleged rape case against dozens of female students.

“Yes, it’s true that we conducted a search and took evidence,” said Deputy Director of the General Crime Investigation Unit (Wadirreskrimum) of the Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Jerry Siagian when confirmed, Friday night.

Another Triumph For Islamist Bigotry In Indonesia!

Sad to see another triumph of intolerance in Indonesia, with Islamists gloating over the suppression of religious liberty in Depok.

As we predicted yesterday – West Java – Depok’s Damnable Dreary Bigotry, Again!  – a mob of bigots descended on the Ahmadiyah mosque,as the peaceful minority was about to carry out their Friday prayers at the mosque, on Friday (24/2) afternoon.

Bit of a waste of time, because  the equally bigoted City Government of Depok had already sealed the innocent dissenters’ house of worship.

Indonesia’s President Jokowi, as Governor of Jakarta, showed an inspirational example when he stood firm against IslamoNazi bigotry.

West Java Wowsers! ‘Dimly-Lit Stalls’ AND Cafes Face Kill-joy Closure

• VIVA.co.id reports that the Depok City Government confirmed it will close cafes and nightclubs during the holy month of Ramadan. This closure will apply from three days before the start till and three days after Idul Fitri.

  Well, hell, thanks be I don’t live in Depok, but that is hardly a novel feeling- almost every time we hear news from there, residence within its city limits becomes an ever more abhorrent prospect.

  “During the month of fasting, cafes should be closed,” said Deputy Mayor of Depok, Idris Abdul Somad, Saturday, June 13, 2015… In addition to cafes, dimly-lit stalls are also not to be spared as targets for officers.

“Our Prayers Disturbed His!” Pluralism in Jokowi’s Jakarta?

We used to publish lots of reports on the vindictive sectarian persecution of the Ahmadiyah minority here in Indonesia.

Recently, we have had fewer cases to report, not, alas, because there is less oppression but because the harassment, violence and general intimidation by thugs has more or less succeeded in preventing the Ahmadis from openly exercising their right to worship freely.

• I had hoped that after President Jokowi won his election last year, that brazenly discriminatory Tri-Ministerial Diktat would have been quashed and that police would have been ordered to ensure that all citizens were guaranteed their constitutional liberties.

But clearly not – this past weekend the Jakarta Post covered a shameful incident that occurred in Jakarta’s Tebet district, a senior cop allegedly on the scene while a gang of hoodlums threatened worshippers and vandalised a mosque.

• Sudarma’s assertion seems to be refuted by the JP report, which describes the place unambiguously as the  An Nur Mosque in Bukit Duri Tanjakan, Tebet, South Jakarta – so it would have been useful if the JP reporter had clarified this point.

It would also have helped if  this top cop had been confronted over what he did when Islamist hoodlums  kicked down the gates, assaulted a would-be worshipper and threatened that they would not hesitate to use violence if the Ahmadis remained defiant.

Rule of law? Not in Tebet, it appears, even if the Police Chief is present – all Sudarma did, we read, was try to mediate between the two parties. 

Mediate? Again, the JP tells us that the violent vigilantes included IslamoNazis from the FPI, whose record of cowardly thuggery is known to all.

Mediation between gangsters and their victims?

There’s a sad photo of the scene, a solitary Ahmadi kneeling at prayer on the street, while a knot of men looks on, one lout so proud of his righteous role that he’s put on a scarf to hide his face. Gutless swine!

And I’m glad I didn’t post this yesterday, as intended, because there’s updating to be done. This time from the Jakarta Globe.

Is this the sort of thing over which Jokowi – who in the same JG report is quoted  as saying,  just last Friday, that  “Ours is an Islam that is polite, full of courtesy and tolerance,”- is pleased to preside?

The self-styled Defenders of Islam Front (FPI) have brazenly boasted that they’ll not hesitate to carry out raids on apartments and boarding houses, the excuse being sticky-beak gossip that some of these dwellings are sometimes used as locations for prostitution.

Needless to say, it’s good old Gauleiter Gadri, aka Habib Idrus Al Gadri, Depok FPI chairman, who’s up to his neck in this vigilante mischief.

But if Incandescent Idrus reckons sexual liaison behind the closed doors of rented apartments is one of those evils, as he obviously does, how is circulation of liquor the source of that?

You might bring home a six-pack to share with your chosen chick, but accessibility of alcohol does not, of itself, make you want to hook up, with a hooker or anyone else. A guy can be stone-cold sober and still get the urge. 

Logic is not the Gauleiter’s strong point.

But that’s his problem, not anyone else’s – until the strutting fanatic starts sending in thugs to gate-crash people’s homes and see who’s in bed with whom. 

“In principle, if the law enforcement officers want to do the job, FPI will stand back. But, if they do not listen, we are going ourselves to raid places of prostitution,” he said.

Sadly, a lot of police time is indeed wasted on hunting down unmarried couples (NOT just slappers and clients) who are having fun in hotels etc.

NB, as always, it’s little hotels that are targetted, not the five-stars where the rich take their pick of high-class tarts from glitzy lounge bars. But NB again, this time it’s NOT just hotels – it’s APARTMENTS AND BOARDING HOUSES – people’s private dwelling-places!!

If some bloke has his girl friend round for the weekend, and a gang of white-shirt louts break in,…?

Unfortunately gun ownership is heavily restricted here, because in my opinion, any resident thus faced with home-invasion by bigot ignoramuses with absolutely no right whatsoever to be troubling peaceful citizens…
