‘Pesantren!’ Another ‘Religious School’ In The News!

Today I quote from local media.

The alleged rape of a dozen female students by a cleric and senior santri at the Riyadhul Jannah Islamic Boarding School, Beji, Depok, has entered a new phase.

Investigators from the Sub Directorate of Renakta Polda Metro Jaya have searched Islamic boarding school to find evidence related to the alleged rape case against dozens of female students.

“Yes, it’s true that we conducted a search and took evidence,” said Deputy Director of the General Crime Investigation Unit (Wadirreskrimum) of the Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Jerry Siagian when confirmed, Friday night.

Another Triumph For Islamist Bigotry In Indonesia!

Sad to see another triumph of intolerance in Indonesia, with Islamists gloating over the suppression of religious liberty in Depok.

As we predicted yesterday – West Java – Depok’s Damnable Dreary Bigotry, Again!  – a mob of bigots descended on the Ahmadiyah mosque,as the peaceful minority was about to carry out their Friday prayers at the mosque, on Friday (24/2) afternoon.

Bit of a waste of time, because  the equally bigoted City Government of Depok had already sealed the innocent dissenters’ house of worship.

“There have been no reports of resistance at Ahmadiyah mosques when we sealed the place again,” he told local media on site. ‘However,’ he added, “if the seal was to be removed, there would be strict sanctions.”-Local cop, quoted in http://timesofahmad.blogspot.com.au/2017/02/indonesia-ahmadiyya-mosque-in-sawangan.html

Depok’s record of intolerance is quite spectacular – if you want a laugh, read this one from a few years back.–Islamist Bigot Biter Bit in West Java

Among the sectarian mob this weekend was Abdullah Shafi, local Muhammadiyah notable.

    • That pretty well finishes off any pretensions by Muhammadiyah to be a voice for ‘moderate’ Muslims.
    • Shafi evidently felt no shame at all in keeping company with the notorious IslamoNazi FPI…

    ….and the notorious FBR.

There’s a few past posts about the FBR, which you can find via our ‘search’ box, just across to your right, but to facilitate your inspection of their bona fides…

Right On, Ratna! Activist’s All-Out Attack on IslamoNazis

    …try that one!

Seems there were leaflets circulating among the rabble that essentially rejected the existence of Ahmadiyah and described it as a cult.

Just to emphasise how infantile and vindictive they could be, the mob also asked Depok City Government to cut off electricity to the Ahmadiyya and urgently remove the contents from the Secretariat of the Ahmadiyah.

    • Since nobody in the Presidential Palace seems to have recalled President Jokowi’s previous call for minorities, in Depok or anywhere in Indonesia to be left unharassed – . Jokowi Urges Cops To Protect Minorities – in Depok – I’ll quote at length what the Ahmadis have said in response.
    • “Masjid Al-Hidayah has been established since 1999, is open to the public and already has a building permit (IMB) as a place of worship and our home since 2007.”
    • Mubarak claimed that Ahmadiyah has been actively involved in social activities…staying in touch with leaders and scholars in Sawangan and has never violated any law.
    • “Forced Closure of mosques by the municipal government that bases itself on SKB 3 minister and derivatives to Perwali Depok on Ahmadiyah is not based on the correct rules..”
    • For new readers, that SKB# is the infamous and grotesquely discriminatory Tri-Ministerial Decree – .  http://www.hrw.org/news/2010/11/04/indonesia-uphold-religious-freedom

    • ——
    • “We deplore the attitude of Depok City Government, as discriminatory and does not carry out its duty to protect its citizens to practice their religion…the right to association and assembly are guaranteed by the state through the constitution…”
    • Ahamdiyah also asked for assertiveness from the President, through the Minister of Internal Affairs, to ensure the Depok City Government does not preclude the right to worship and assemble…
    • Ahmadis also ask police officers to ensure security and the activities of worship that group.

Its bad when there are so many really ‘moderate’ (sane) Muslims here in Indonesia but so few organisations that represent them.
Muhammadiyah dont qualify and after that Gandaria City squall a few years ago, NU doesn’t have much credibility either.
I think we have seen the best days of Indonesia unless Jokowi starts acting instead of just talking about pluralism..

Will Jokowi Disown PDI-P Wannabe’s Intolerance?

Indonesia’s President Jokowi, as Governor of Jakarta, showed an inspirational example when he stood firm against IslamoNazi bigotry.

But now the party whose support put him in the Presidential Palace, the PDI-P, looks set to endorse a man who has openly espoused religious intolerance for a prominent position right next door to Jakarta.

Will Jokowi disown Rudi Samin, the wannabe Mayor of Depok?.

    • rudisaminpdip Rudi Samin
    • habib-fpi-rizieq Habib Rizieq
    • ======================
    • Rudi Samin showed no hesitation this week about getting together with a rabid jihadist, the IslamoNazi FPI’s former fuhrer and current ‘high priest,’ the notorious Habib Rizieq.

But it’s not just Rudi’s poor judgement in matters of the company he keeps. He went on to declare that he would uphold the vicious Islamist persecution of the inoffensive Ahmadi minority in that unspeakable city.

Moreover, Rudi also promised to eradicate liquor and all deviant teachings if he wins the upcoming election.
“If my party makes it, I would go with regulations to ban alcohol and the Ahmadiyah. Obviously both are misguidance for the people,” said Rudi to Habib Rizieq Shihab, who was accompanied by Habib K. Al Gadri, Depol FPI.

He sure said a mouthful! The push for prohibition is one thing, folly about which we’ve written more than once. Breaking Bali News – Non-Prohibition Zones Announced!

But to bracket alcohol with a peaceful minority creed which harms nobody at all?

That’s not only outlandish, absurd, but downright alarming – Samin’s sectarian outburst is an affront to the pluralist Pancasila principles on which Indonesia was founded.

    • freedom-of-religion
    • =====================
    • No wonder Wartakota.com records how Samin’s guarantee to suppress minority rights was ‘rather appreciated by Habib Rizieq!

http://wartakota.tribunnews.com/2015/07/07/balon-walkot-depok-dari-pdip-sowan-ke-habib-rizieq (there’s a good photo of Samin delighting in chat with the two leading IslamoNazis)

Depok is run – in religious matters – much as if the evil PKI, the Indonesian Communist Party, had taken power back in the day, instead of being crushed and outlawed.

Just like the Communists, the Islamist fanatics despise religious liberty. Emulating the Reds’ time-honoured tactics, the bigot-run city supervised the take-over (aka theft) of the Ahmadiyah mosque.

Rizieq’s local Gauleiter, Habib Idrus Gadri, was last heard of trying to get himself nominated for the mayoral election.

But Idrus has never been likely to win.

Maybe Samin is grubbing about for spare IslamoNazi votes? Or maybe he really is just as fanatical in his loathing of other citizens’ right to worship as they see fit.

Whatever, it is surely incumbent on President Jokowi, and the PDI-P’s big boss, ex-President Megawati, to speak up.

    Do they disown Samin’s sectarianism?

I do not think Jokowi or Megawati will say any word about this Samin intolerance. They do not care.
We voted for Jokowi for his pluralism but now we are getting no pluralism.
Maybe mistake for us, at least Prabowo might be strong.
And also. Yes, Depok is terrible place.

How sad for us if the Presiden has people like this Samin who do not believe in religion freedom.
But we are all getting to be dissapointed now.

“Our Prayers Disturbed His!” Pluralism in Jokowi’s Jakarta?

We used to publish lots of reports on the vindictive sectarian persecution of the Ahmadiyah minority here in Indonesia.

Recently, we have had fewer cases to report, not, alas, because there is less oppression but because the harassment, violence and general intimidation by thugs has more or less succeeded in preventing the Ahmadis from openly exercising their right to worship freely.

    • jokowi
    • ——–
    • I had hoped that after President Jokowi won his election last year, that brazenly discriminatory Tri-Ministerial Diktat would have been quashed and that police would have been ordered to ensure that all citizens were guaranteed their constitutional liberties.

But clearly not – this past weekend the Jakarta Post covered a shameful incident that occurred in Jakarta’s Tebet district, a senior cop allegedly on the scene while a gang of hoodlums threatened worshippers and vandalised a mosque.

Aaah, but actually, it’s not a mosque, says Tebet Police chief Comr. I Ketut Sudarma, who claims he was at the location from the very beginning when the incident took place. http://wwv.thejakartapost.com/news/2015/06/13/ahmadiyah-blocked-friday-prayers.html

    • Indonesian_National_Police_General's_Visor_Hat
    • Sudarma’s assertion seems to be refuted by the JP report, which describes the place unambiguously as the  An Nur Mosque in Bukit Duri Tanjakan, Tebet, South Jakarta – so it would have been useful if the JP reporter had clarified this point.

It would also have helped if  this top cop had been confronted over what he did when Islamist hoodlums  kicked down the gates, assaulted a would-be worshipper and threatened that they would not hesitate to use violence if the Ahmadis remained defiant.

Rule of law? Not in Tebet, it appears, even if the Police Chief is present – all Sudarma did, we read, was try to mediate between the two parties.

Mediate? Again, the JP tells us that the violent vigilantes included IslamoNazis from the FPI, whose record of cowardly thuggery is known to all.

Mediation between gangsters and their victims?

There’s a sad photo of the scene, a solitary Ahmadi kneeling at prayer on the street, while a knot of men looks on, one lout so proud of his righteous role that he’s put on a scarf to hide his face. Gutless swine!

And I’m glad I didn’t post this yesterday, as intended, because there’s updating to be done. This time from the Jakarta Globe.

… the FPI members threatened to return on Sunday.http://thejakartaglobe.beritasatu.com/news/jakarta/jokowi-touts-tolerance-ahmadis-come-threat/  They were duly back as promised, and harangued the Ahmadis. The police, who said they would post officers outside the house, were nowhere to be seen.

Is this the sort of thing over which Jokowi – who in the same JG report is quoted  as saying,  just last Friday, that  “Ours is an Islam that is polite, full of courtesy and tolerance,”- is pleased to preside?

Still, it could be worse. Elsewhere in recent years…

Lombok’s Ahmadis were driven from their village by a rabid rabble, police present but inert.

    – again, while police looked on.

West Java, What Next? IslamoNazi Home Invasions?

Hey, lazy Sunday, so catching up on news and, having just posted on IslamoNazi promises NOT to cause mayhem   in Central Java…Did Sukorejo Show Indonesia How To Curb IslamoNazi Thuggery…suddenly I notice we may well be getting some nearer home.

    • ———-

    • My home is my castle, so people in the Old Country say, meaning within their four walls they are safe from interference by sticky-beaks etc. But for residents of Depok, West Java, right next door to Jakarta, there may soon be a threat to such peace of mind.  No right to relax in your own home – the IslamoNazis are on the war-path again.

    • One of our numerous West Java readers sent us this story a while ago, but it is still timely.

Sejumlah massa dari Front Pembela Islam (FPI) melakukan aksi di depan Gedung Mahkaman Konstitusi (MK), Jakarta, Rabu (27/1).  FPI savages, in cowardly mask mode

The self-styled Defenders of Islam Front (FPI) have brazenly boasted that they’ll not hesitate to carry out raids on apartments and boarding houses, the excuse being sticky-beak gossip that some of these dwellings are sometimes used as locations for prostitution.

Needless to say, it’s good old Gauleiter Gadri, aka Habib Idrus Al Gadri, Depok FPI chairman, who’s up to his neck in this vigilante mischief.

depok _swepping_buku Gauleiter Idrus Al Gadri

“The problem today, Depok City Government does not care about issues like this,” he has declared! According to him, currently Depok City Government emphasizes physical development rather than building moral citizens.  http://metro.tempo.co/read/news/2015/04/29/083662095/Marak-Prostitusi-FPI-Ancam-Razia-Kos-dan-Apartemen-di-Depok

Then he had a rant about how the municipal government does not combat the circulation of liquor…that is the source of all evil...

Well, the way I felt last Thursday morning, after a fine night out on Wednesday, I could almost have agreed with him.

    • prohibition_
    • ALL evil? Really?

But if Incandescent Idrus reckons sexual liaison behind the closed doors of rented apartments is one of those evils, as he obviously does, how is circulation of liquor the source of that?

You might bring home a six-pack to share with your chosen chick, but accessibility of alcohol does not, of itself, make you want to hook up, with a hooker or anyone else. A guy can be stone-cold sober and still get the urge.

Logic is not the Gauleiter’s strong point.

But that’s his problem, not anyone else’s – until the strutting fanatic starts sending in thugs to gate-crash people’s homes and see who’s in bed with whom.

In principle, if the law enforcement officers want to do the job, FPI will stand back. But, if they do not listen, we are going ourselves to raid places of prostitution,” he said.

Sadly, a lot of police time is indeed wasted on hunting down unmarried couples (NOT just slappers and clients) who are having fun in hotels etc.

It’s one of the odd aspects of living here in Indonesia. Occasionally, we get a laugh, when the biter is bit – here’s a link to a story from where one of the captured couples turned out to be police officers! Duh! Suami Lagi Pendidikan, Oknum Polwan di Rumah “Ditemani” Perwira – JPNN.com

NB, as always, it’s little hotels that are targetted, not the five-stars where the rich take their pick of high-class tarts from glitzy lounge bars. (although sometimes not – the big celeb slapper scandal mysteriously erupted after revelations from a posh hotel raid –Five-Star Hotel Hooker Horror – Jakarta Post Grammar Probe? )

But NB again, this time it’s NOT just hotels – it’s APARTMENTS AND BOARDING HOUSES – people’s private dwelling-places!!

If some bloke has his girl friend round for the weekend, and a gang of white-shirt louts break in,…?

Unfortunately gun ownership is heavily restricted here, because in my opinion, any resident thus faced with home-invasion by bigot ignoramuses with absolutely no right whatsoever to be troubling peaceful citizens…

….that resident would be entirely justified in taking down the sectarian brutes with whatever weapon might be handy.

Mind you, given the FPI’s record of cowardice when they face indignant citizens’ resistance, they’d likely turn tail and run – unless the foe were out-numbered ten to one! IslamoNazis V Freedom-Fighters? – Some Chicken, Some Neck
