The National White Police Association Said WHAT?

I’m not going to waste time discussing the tribulations of Superintendent Robyn Williams, whom the Metropolitan Police seem keen to dismiss from their ranks.

Given the ridiculous political correctness that pervades the Met.…

Police Chief: You Could Be Arrested For Removing Shrine To Burglar

…it’s fair to say their reasons are most unlikely to be down to ‘racism’ – and certainly not to non-existent ‘systemic racism!’

    But who knows?

Whatever, the National Black Police Association (NBPA) has ‘accused the Met of targeting‘ the black woman.

A source said that the Met leadership “wanted her out…” https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/stop-seeking-to-oust-black-officer-met-police-urged-ddtvvvf0r

Maybe so, but it might be interesting to hear what the National White Police Association had to say!

    There’s no NWPA?

    But there IS an NBPA?

Maybe because there’s a double standard that governs who can form race-based associations?

      Not a chance, mate..
The black police officers get away with running a race based group to look after their own, but white cops would be fired for doing the same

Aah! Anne Appelbaum Regains Our Attention!

I thought the name was vaguely familiar…

…although the publication is certainly well enough known.

But I had to use my Search Engine to discover when Anne Applebaum had appeared in my own blog.

Why Do Media Focus On Mouthings Of Meaningless People?

And a very obscure bit-part it was, a bunch of scribblers puffing out clouds of self-important steam, three years ago.

    But Applebaum’s popped up again!

.In the course of checking her out, I learned that she’s a member of CFR…

Ever read or even just heard of Professor Quigley’s book on the Council on Foreign RelationsTragedy and Hope?

Tragedy and Hope: A History of the World in Our Time

then you’ll need no reminding of what the Council on Foreign Relations is all about

    …, and of course she’s a rabid Trumpophobe…

…who endorsed Clinton in 2016, and that she hates the Law and Justice patriot party in Poland…

…unsurprisingly since she’s married to the ranter….A Pathetic Pole! Sikorski’s Sicko Comparison! ...we wrote about, a year ago.

    It’s all reliably wiki-documented.

    Here she is…

    Anne Elizabeth Applebaum.jpg

STUDENT SPEAKS OUT ON MEDIA BIAS  The Atlantic’s Anne Applebaum told a student at a conference last week that the Hunter Biden laptop story was “irrelevant” and not “interesting” to her.

“Back when the Hunter Files were a live crisis for the Biden camp, Applebaum published a lengthy essay in The Atlantic that aimed to discredit the reporter who broke the laptop story,” writes the student in a follow-up essay at Compact Magazine.

“So if she doesn’t find the story interesting, why did she—along with the entirety of the corporate media apparatus—dedicate so much time and effort to trying to legitimate censorship of the Post’s reporting?”

Capitol Cops, 9/11 – Double Standards Or Dirty Tricks?

I forward this for American readers…

…but I think others will find the double standards intriguing.

With the 20th Anniversary of September 11th right around the corner, Rev. Pat Mahoney filed a permit to gather a prayer vigil on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol.

But there was one thing standing in his way…

In order to hold the prayer vigil, the U.S. Capitol Police Board required Rev. Mahoney to obtain a permit.

A few days later, Rev. Mahoney learned that the Capitol Police Board DENIED his request.

When Rev. Mahoney asked why he wasn’t allowed to pray outside of the Capitol – especially for something as important as the 20th Anniversary of 9/11 – the Capitol Police Board told him the area is “restricted” and that permit applications cannot be processed.

    But that just isn’t true.

Just recently, leftist Congresswoman Cori Bush and a handful of her left-wing activist friends slept on the Capitol steps for days in protesting one of their radical social justice policies—demanding an extension of the eviction moratorium.

    Center for American Liberty

Another group recently got a permit to protest on the lawn outside the Capitol too.

In other words, Rev. Mahoney wasn’t denied because the area was actually “restricted” or closed.

He was denied the right to exercise his First Amendment freedoms because the U.S. Capitol Police Board thinks it has unfettered discretion to pick winners and losers with respect to constitutional rights.

Will you help us fund this critical lawsuit against the U.S. Capitol Police Board by sending a generous tax-deductible contribution of $35 or more to the Center for American Liberty today?

Alexis Harus Ditutup? Terus Gimana Hotel2 Bintang Lima?

The Alexis must be shut down? So how about Jakarta’s various 5-star hotels?

That’s my response to the news last month that hit the headlines here, concerning a famous place in the north of the city which is said to be…

    …and I quote The Jakarta Globe’s quoted descripton –

    ‘A Dreamland for Men!’  – http://jakartaglobe.id/news/jakarta-administration-shuts-infamous-alexis-hotel/

But I’ll stick with the Jakarta Post for the most part, on our brand new Governor,  Anies Baswedan’s refusal to extend the operation permit of Alexis Hotel in North Jakarta, an establishment he explicitly mentioned during his gubernatorial campaign, claiming that he had collected sufficient evidence that it hosts prostitution services.

“We are firm. We don’t want Jakarta to become a city that allows prostitution to take place.”

    That’s interesting.

Whatever the Alexis’ faults – and I’ve never been there – they are surely not unique. ANYONE who has been out for an evening in some of our international-standard five-star hotels ( I won’t say all of them, because I haven’t been to all of them!) must be fully aware that it’s not at all unusual to bump into the occasional kupu2 malam.

    Kupu2 malam = Night butterflies!

I met up with a former colleague a couple of weeks ago in one such splendiferous – and expensive – edifice and we had barely ordered a couple of ‘happy hour’ beers before a delightful lady approached us with an amiable but acquisitive gleam in her eye.

Hasil gambar untuk five star hotels

I responded with my habitual courtesy but promptly assured her that we were retired teachers, not the affluent tourists or foreign businessmen who constituted much of the clientele.

She, with equal courtesy, and promptitude, took her leave of us and went off in search of more acceptable prey.

I’m sure she advised her colleagues/rivals because although there were quite a few similarly sultry sorts on the prowl, they none of them showed interest in us thereafter.

I can think of at least three of four other grand hotels in the city where I’ve encountered these kinds of slightly avaricious but ever-charming slinkies, operating openly and regularly.

I won’t name them, because I do not wish to be sued –  certain types of business persons here are as litigious as certain types of Americans! – but any male expat who goes out at night will surely confirm my veracity.

Hence my headlined question – how about the 5-stars?

Maybe Governor Anies Baswedan has never entered their bars after dark? Is he truly unaware of what goes on?

Does he plan to refuse to extend their operating permits?

    Gambar terkait

If some residents or some media tell him, will he seek to shut them down too?

But that leads me to the rest of his statement, as reported in the JP.

We have received reports and complaints from residents as well as media reports [about such a practice]…” Anies, however, refused to elaborate on what kind of evidence he had obtained.

So another question – does Anies have any REAL evidence, like police reports, or is he set to order the Alexis’ closure purely on the basis of just some fretty residents and the ‘media?

    How come he won’t say?

And that brings us to another question!

Has HE ever been there, in the Dreamland of Men?

Has HE taken the trouble to use his gubernatorial limousine to travel up to Ancol and have a look, one evening, at the denizens of the Alexis?

Surely that’s the very least that fair play demands, since ‘the Alexis Hotel has not violated any regulations,  according to its legal representative…

Hasil gambar untuk innocent till proven guilty quotes

…and please note – the refusal to extend the hotel’s operation permit came after media stories regarding banned activities at the hotel, such as the hotel offering massage services.   http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2017/10/31/alexis-hotel-wants-solution-to-keep-operating.html

If there’s nothing else on the charge sheet, could there yet be a happy ending?

Oh, but let’s not forget that closing Alexis was one of newly-elected Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan’s campaign promises during the gubernatorial election earlier this year.

SO if he goes ahead, and demonstrates consistency by treating Jakarta’s celebrated international hotels with the same zeal, he will be keeping his word to those who supported him.

Anies Baswedan wins a smile from FPI ‘grand imam,’ Habib Rizieq

And let’s ALSO not forget some of those supporters, like the white-shirt vigilante gang, the self-styled Islam Defenders Front – the FPI!

THEY will be beside themselves with glee.

Even more so if the national parliament presses on with their prohibition law.

    Let’s wait and see!

    Before we start packing.

All very true and anybody who says its not is telling lies..
You cant walk into one five star bar in town after 9pm without seeing dozens of working girls all working hard to get to know you.. ,

Of course Anies has never been there to Alexis I bet.
But I am sure he has been to the five-star hotels for conference and things like that,.
Did he never even peek through the bar door? If he did he must see the butterfly girls.
So much hypocrites here in Jakarta political world..

It is just like you say, Ross but your hero Ahok when he was governor was almost as obsessive about the terrible menace of the ‘ladies of the night.’
In fact they don’t bother guys unless the guy wants to be bothered so I ask myself why doesn’t Anies give this ‘problem’ a low priority and give shutting down Islamist gangs a high priority?
The answer is there in that big photograph!

Nobody who knows Jakarta will dispute what you say about some of those very expensive hotels, Ross.
The only difference between the girls who offer their company to lonely foreigners in the ‘high-class’ bars and the girls in some well-known dives in Blok M is the going rate!

I do not like how you think about many things but it is true that Anies should be fair
If he must order the Alexis Hotel to close he must also close the Jakarta hotels used by rich foreign people if the prostitute work there too.
It is so with alcohol also.
The goverment will tell many place to stop selling strong drinks but will never stop it in five star hotel places because the rich tourist will never come back.
There is no moral in how this is done, it is all about money.

      Just reading about this.
They want to open shariah hotels in Jakarta but what is a shariah hotel.?
I would never go near one but do you have any idea what goes on, besides constant praying and stuff?

EuroCommissars’ Double Standards on Display, Again!

It becomes ever more of a challenge to find any trace of consistency, never mind integrity, in the workings of the supranational ruling class in Brussels.

Just take a look at the two links below, which appeared as close together in the latest EUObserver bulletin as the bacon and egg in the sandwiches I prefer for a Sunday brunch.

Read them at length if you like, but the essence is there in the intros I’ve captured.

Serious breaches of major obligations, as in….

EU lets Portugal and Spain off the hook

The EU commission has opted not to fine Portugal or Spain on fiscal targets for fear of aggravating euroscepticism. Read on »

…are brushed aside by Brussels as of no consequence, but dare step on the toes of their local handmaidens…

    EU confrontation with Poland escalates

The EU commission said there is systemic threat to rule of law in Poland and gave new ultimatum.

    …and it’s all guns blazing!

These blasted hypocrites in Brussels DARE to whine about Poland…

….a parliamentary democracy in which the recently elected government has been trying to clean out leftist bias in public broadcasting and undo a sleazy move to fix the courts by their democratically defeated predecessors..Long Live Free Poland!!

…and simultaneously flout their own rules, purely as a politically-motivated manouevre to stave off ever-growing public contempt for themselves and their grossly extravagant and often corrupt bureaucracy.

We owe the Poles, who were first to fight Hitler, and then we sold them to Stalin at Yalta and Potsdam.
I know it was the Americans who forced that on Churchill but even so, Britain did the dirty too.
Theresa May should distance herself from all that Brussels bullying and stand behind our old friends.

'Asylum' Double Standards! Shelter Erdogan's Intended Victims!

So there are two classes of ‘asylum seeker?’

Hordes of primitives who arrogantly storm ashore on Aegean islands like Lesbos, whom the Greek Government makes no move to turn back…

    ‘Asylum-seekers?’ Yeah, right!

….who are promptly lionised and provided indefinitely with free meals and lodgings. They even get visits from Dope Francis, who selects the least anti-social and takes them off for some Vatican hospitality…

Genuine asylum-seekers – Turkish officers in Greek custody

..And then there are that small band of Turkish officers, fleeing for their lives from an Islamist authoritarian, who get  prosecuted for illegal entry into Greece!

The Greeks’ marxist leader, Tsipras, has apparently told Erdogan that the procedure for the Turkish asylum seekers will be swift but in line with international law and human rights treaties.

But I’d not place any bets on a happy outcome for the men the sectarian in Ankara wants to pack into his already teeming jails.  Tsipras is a red rat.

The phrase ‘asylum seeker’ has been bandied about so much, wrongly referring to undesirable wannabe parasites, that its original honourable meaning has been almost forgotten.

The plight of these poor Turks reminds us!
