Too Hot for Hamas? International Women’s Day 2017!

Somebody reminded me a few days ago that March 8th is International Women’s Day.

Since the Islamist bigots of Hamas have cancelled the holiday even their Palestinian rivals have declared –  http://www.theisraelproject.org/hamas-vetoes-international-womens-day/ – it seems all the more incumbent on normal folks to say something about it.

I could have posted on heroic European women, like Marine Le Pen or Frauke Petry.

But on reflection, I thought, no, we touched on such stellar examples last Sunday –Silly Old Pole Subjected To Euro-Censorship? OUTRAGEOUS!   – so let’s give politics a break, at least for this morning, and focus on local ladies here in Indonesia.

We have covered ( if that’s the appropriate word!) several of them over the years.

So just a handful (pleasant thought!) today to celebrate why we really do appreciate these delights.

The ladies above are all dangdut singers, and if you haven’t heard of dangdut, it’s the musical genre that ordinary Indonesians love.

This is an insult to International Women’s Day, pure sexism, all deep cleavages and thighs and it shows how you truly look at women.
You are old now and should be beyond this teenage ogling but i suppose it is the habit of a life-time for your kind of chauvinist!.
      Shame on you!

This from 2017 was much better than the one you published today.
      But both are enjoyable.

    Sarapan Sama Duo Anggrek

    What a fine sunny Sunday!

Just been out to  Alfamart to buy cigarettes, avoiding thereby unwanted rush on Monday morning, though I have no particular place to go, unlike the commuting multitude.

I finally surfaced an hour or two ago, when summoned for sarapan (breakfast) and whilst guzzling my mie rebus and nasi putih, I passed some agreeable time watching the Duo Anggrek on Dangdutz Channel.

    ———

They are really cute, and here’s a picture to prove it.

    ======

If push came to shove, I’d say Mozaine was my fave, not because she’s cuter but simply because when they sang their hit song on the show, Devayne showed slightly less ‘ooomph.’

    —————-

    ————–

But which I prefer is a very academic point, alas, for I fear they would put me at the very back of any theoretical queue of wannabe suitors, of whom there must be thousands.

Good photo, the second one. I also saw Duo Anggrek that day on the tv channel, very beautiful. But I think your Duo Serigala photographs very more interesting.

International Women’s Day, March 8th – Indonesia Beruntung!

LUCKY INDONESIA!                          roro 2015 8694f-roro_fitria_gress-02b9246-rorofitria2  Roro Fitria

If we are to take seriously our observation of International Women’s Day tomorrow, it’s useful to remind ourselves why Indonesia is especially lucky in that respect, so many magnificent women here to impress us on a daily basis, wherever we go in Jakarta.

    • Duo Anggrek (saw them on tv last night -stunning!)
    • ——————
    • I’d like to include a photo of little Lia, who works in a nearby branch of Indomaret, gorgeous and friendly each time she hands me my supply of Bohem from the cigarette counter.
    • But I won’t – she’d just blush and get teased by her colleagues in the minimart.

    • Or the many other beautiful blossoms who flourish in this sprawling city.
    • On the buses across town, re-stocking the shelves in Carrefour, smiling among the shirts on sale in Matahari, or manning (?) the small shops in Blok M Square, Permata Hijau, and every other mall in the capital.

But no need to embarrass them. Their more famous celebrity sisters can be their ambassadors today, photos I have used before and take pleasure from re-featuring this otherwise run-of-the-mill morning.

And just to show I’m not Islamophobic!

veiled-women There are a few, very few, of these in Jakarta!

     ============

Of course I could include a lot of stern-faced girls in politics, the arts and science… – but there are media galore who’ll be doing that.

Best just to relax and enjoy RRA’s selection here.

    PS

And if those events do not appeal to you, I have been told that, on Tuesdays, there are Ladies’ Nights in the Mo Bar, at the Mandarin Oriental, and at Molly Malone’s, at Senayan.

Some of us guys should drop by those places this week to pay our respects to the opposite sex – ooops, gender!

I suppose you think it’s very droll to trivialize a day set aside to honor female achievement and promote the eradication of archaic gender roles.
You are quite deliberately mocking the purpose and symbolism of IWD.
Nobody concerned with equality is laughing with you but some of us are laughing at you, in particular your crude sexist imagery, which appeals only to neanderthal men like yourself..

Ten out of ten for this one, though, Ross. Indonesian women deserve all the praise you give them, and more.
      Vanessa sounds jealous!
