I read a week or two ago that Slovakia, a small country located in the very heart of Europe, is reportedly prepared to accept 200 ‘migrants,’ but only Christians. Since then, Finns have expressed similar noises.
Today, Australia’s Foreign Minister Julie Bishop was almost instantly subjected to whines about ‘discrimination’ after she dclared ‘a focus on assisting those persecuted ethnic and religious minorities who will have no home to return to when the conflict is over.
“So that includes Maronites, it includes Yazidis, there are Druze.”
Discrimination in favour of those most at risk is just plain good sense, and common decency. Christians and Yazidis have been evilly tormented by the Islamist rape-gang ISIS and deserve our sympathy.
- But we need to be forthright on the issue of ‘Islamophobia,’ a bogus word conjured up by the likes of CAIR, whose character we should all understand by now.
Let’s listen to the Slovaks.

I frankly find it unlikely that a lack of suitable places of worship is the real reason behind this policy. Muslims, after all, can and do pray anywhere.

- So I’d say this attitude on the part of the Slovaks is actually down to the failure of most clerics in Europe to do what I have often suggested as the best antidote to anti-Islamic feeling, namely use their pulpits to denounce several unacceptable attitudes rightly or wrongly imputed to Muslims.

First, at every Friday prayer session, all good clerics should begin their sermon with a clear-cut assertion that Muslims in the UK (or any country) may not elevate any imagined empathy with Muslims abroad either above, or on a par with, loyalty to Queen and Country.
- Any such supranational allegiance is an affront and if held, should be cause for detention pending deportation.

Secondly, the sermons should decree that, under no circumstances, should anyone in their audience think, never mind act, violently towards ‘apostates’ or ‘blasphemers.’

People in those categories are not bad. They simply hold different views about how to worship or not worship. Some ‘blasphemers’ may be rude, but in those cases, in a civilised country, civilised people do not behave like the rabid morons in the above photo. They ignore what might offend, or write a critical letter to their favourite newspaper.

Third, again at least once a week, it should be explained that polygamy is for primitives. Civilised people should not, and, where it’s illegal, may not, engage in multi-spouse relationships.

Again, anyone who feels strongly, once a citizen, may propose to change the law, but of course only on the basis of sex equality, any reform conferring the right to more than one legal bed-mate to both men and women.

Thirdly, on the same theme, responsible clerics should powerfully aver that men and women are not to be iniquitously treated. Already, in the UK, and elsewhere, we have heard rational Muslim input on this.

Clerics should moreover speak out against any demand by fanatics to be above the law, and this is a topical matter, given what I read in the UK media last week, about certain people saying they should be excluded from the attentions of sniffer dogs.
POLICE sniffer dogs trained to spot terrorists at railway stations may no longer come into contact with Muslim passengers – after complaints that it is against the suspects’ religion.
There’s no excuse for permitting the infantile notion of ‘cultural sensitivity’ to trump public safety.

I honestly believe regular repetition of all the above in every house of worship (Muslim or otherwise ) would reassure host nations immensely.
Most, if not all, Western countries practise religious liberty. Decent Muslims can practise their religion happily, and fit in well, like these Ahmadiyah in the UK.

Like Tarek Fateh, and, I reckon, the equally estimable American Muslim, Zuhdi Jasser…Witch-Hunt In America – Against A Muslim Patriot! ...and the Muslims I count as friends, people I hang out with socially and frequently have here as house-guests, would find little fault with anything I’ve suggested.
Even here in 90% Muslim Indonesia, only a malignant minority would go along with that fanatic to whom I often refer.
The more loudly that decent Muslims disown such drivel, the less ‘Islamophobia’ will appear.
