    If You’re Out On The Town In Jakarta Tonight, Beware!

    Just saw the news on Trans TV, the white-shirt FPI thug-gang went ahead and staged a ‘takbir’ tonight, starting about now, despite an appeal from Jakarta City Police not to hold takbir around Jakarta.

    The FPI  – the Defenders of Islam Front – are notorious cowardly bullies. Just put the letters into our search box over there to the right.

    =

    FPI – sectarian hate-gang on the march in Jakarta

    =

    Takbir is a kind of parade/motorcade marking the end of the fasting month. They obviously cause traffic congestion and general inconvenience and have in previous years degenerated into brawling.

    Peace? Ramadan Convoys “Often Taunt and Fight Each Other!”

    ===

     “We will still carry out our takbir tour in various areas including Jakarta, because the takbir tour is local wisdom and part of syiar Islam…”

    So said Slamet Maarif, Jakarta FPI Gauleiter, resplendent in his local wisdom.

    In other words, shariah trumps all.

    Indonesia ‘Scholars’ Council

    ==

    Much the same arrogance we heard from the MUI, the state-sponsored Islamic self-styled ‘scholars,’ a few years ago.

    An official with the Indonesian Council of Ulema (MUI) has criticized the Jakarta Police’s call to curb the amount of Idul Fitri prayer convoys in the capital, alleging it as an attempt to “defy” and “belittle” Islam.

    ————–

    • tengku zulkarnain-mui- Tengku
    • ———-
    • MUI deputy secretary-general Tengku Zulkarnain…criticized the police’s suggestion to limit takbir-chanting — often called takbiran in Indonesian — within the confinement of mosques.
    • ==

    Which of course was hogwash when he said it, as it is today.

    The great majority of police here are Muslim, as one would expect in a 90% Muslim country, and some at senior levels have even shown themselves well-disposed to the fanatic FPI!

    =

    Indonesia’s Top Cop Calls IslamoNazi Gang ‘Very Tolerant!’

    Of course the police are not out to ‘belittle Islam.’

    They presumably want to keep the streets safe and orderly.

    But Tengku has in the not-so-distant past shown signs of a persecution complex. ‘…the Koran has already instructed Muslims about the deceitfulness of the enemies of Islam.’

    Top ‘Scholar’ – “Amazing Muslim Advance in West Scares Islam’s Enemies!”

    Last word to Slamet.

    =

    “If there are limited personnel for security purposes, they can work with Islamic organizations in Jakarta, instead of reversing silly policies that are not popular,” said Slamet.   http://www.cnnindonesia.com/nasional/20170624154819-20-223954/fpi-gelar-takbir-keliling-meski-dilarang-polisi/

    In other words, hand over policing of Islamist parades to people like Slamet’s own Islamist louts.

    Won’t that be a wonderful day?

    Pray to whichever God you worship that it may never dawn in Indonesia.

      I used to like going out to watch the fun but the fun isnt there any more. Its faded.away.
      After those horrible children were filmed chanting for Ahok to be burned I said it was not the Indonesia I knew. What are the Jakarta Police doing right now?
      Watching over the FPI tabrik?

    Islamist Bullies – Who’s The Yellow-Bellied Brute In The Yellow Shirt?

    It’s a horror film, starring cackling cowardly jackasses, a whole pack of them, bullying a slightly built teenager, the chief inquisitor’s nasty whining voice going on and on, an utterly sickening display, until the skinny little lad is coerced into making a formal apology.

    ==

    What for?

    =

    Rizieq,on the left, sharing a platform with President Jokowi earlier this year.

    =

    Because he made some social media comment about the IslamoNazi ‘high priest’ Habib Rizieq, which the louts in the crowded room didn’t like

    ======

    ========

    You won’t be able to follow the words spoken so rather than go through all the toils of translation, I offer several links, some in Indonesian but one, the first one, in English, which does an excellent job of telling the full story.

    FPI Dampingi 2 Terduga Pelaku Persekusi yang Ditangkap Polisi

    Persekusi Remaja di Cipinang yang Viral Bentuk Opini Hancurkan FPI

    The ‘men’ in the crowded room are all Rizieq fans, who disgrace this lovely country I’ve enjoyed living in for so many years, and it’s fair to say they disgrace their religion too.

    But of them all, I’d say the most contemptible coward is the lout in the yellow shirt…

    Yellow!

    ===

    ….who twice approaches the rabble’s victim and strikes the clearly frightened boy, from behind, of course. That yellow-belly should be named and shamed and put away for years.

    This took place not in some criminal den but in the house of the elected neighbourhood leader, apparently in Cipinang, East Jakarta. It is said that the intimidation of the innocent lad started after his teacher took exception to his observations on Rizieq.

    The boy and his family have had to move house for their own safety.  Decent Muslims, from the GP Ansor organisation,who share my dismay and disgust, have stepped in to offer protection.

    I watched this last night just before I went to bed. I wish I hadn’t, because it took me quite a while to get to sleep, due to anger and the sadness at the scenes on the video.

    What’s almost worse is the assertion by IslamoNazis that they are determined to pursue their vendetta against anyone at all who insults ‘ulema’ (‘scholars’)  –

    Islam Defenders Front (FPI) spokesperson Slamet Maarif has said offering apologies is not enough for people who have insulted the group’s leader, Rizieq Shihab….

    Apology not enough: FPI – National – The Jakarta Post

    Decent people are mobilising to resist these despicable tactics.

    One racist moron in the video preposterously warned the boy – “You’d better tell your friends of your [Chinese] ethnicity not to do it anymore, so this will not happen again,” said one FPI member.

    “You have to know that Habib Rizieq belongs not only to the FPI but also to all Muslims.

    Happily, the latest news confirms that ‘all Muslims’ do not accept this outrageous behavior, or tolerate the nonsense that normal people of any ethnicity or age or creed may not insult Rizieq or any ‘scholar.’

    Support mounts for teenager allegedly bullied by FPI – Sat, June 3

    PS – Police have since arrested two ‘men’ allegedly involved. Now how about the rest of them, and the neighbourhood leader, and that ‘teacher?’

    Jakarta Post’s True Colours – ‘Hands off Islamists!’

    Most of us understand the clear difference between Muslims and Islamists.

    One of the former had a modest meal in my home last night. Another will likely drop by for a pleasant visit over the weekend. The folks I met up with in town yesterday were Muslims.

    They are fasting, most of them, this Ramadhan. They don’t eat pork. Most of them don’t share my enthusiasm for beer.

    =

    =

    They are normal people who follow their religious customs and respect the fact that a lot of people have either different religious practices or no religious affiliation at all.

    Islamists are something else entirely.

    They are bigoted fanatics who are essentially intolerant and believe that their ways should dictate our ways. They hold power in Indonesia’s Aceh Province, where women of ANY creed are coerced into head-shrouding under the oppressive shariah code.

    Islamist rule in Aceh is an endless nightmare…

    But so far, while editorial cowardice has prevented any condemnation of that Nazi-style arson, they have never openly endorsed it either.

    A question all the more important as we celebrate this, Pancasila Day!

    Indonesia’s Morning After – What’s MinahExit Mean?

    A sudden flurry of reports about something we have frankly never heard of before, the Gerakan Referendum Minahasa.

    That’s the Minahasa Referendum  Movement.

    And Minahasa refers to the ethnic group, largely Christian by faith, and good soldiers by tradition, who live in North Sulawesi.

    That’s also where the admirable protest took place against the arrival of an Islamist fanatic not long ago.

    Manado Mayhem! Jakarta Post Flouts Its Own ‘Bold’ Motto?

    But it wasn’t till very recently that this GMR movement hit the headlines.

    Again, it’s important to note the coincidence of its appearance with the shocking imprisonment of the Christian Governor of Jakarta on bizarre ‘blasphemy’ charges.

    =

    ——–

    No coincidence at all, really, because the driving force behind bringing Ahok to trial was an Islamist fanatic cabal, IslamoNazi FPI leaders in cahoots with the self-styled ‘scholars’ of the MUI.

    =

    Indonesian Press Day,’ 9th Feb – Fake News? If Only!

    =

    Ahok behind bars symbolises the growing power of intolerance – if you can’t utter a quote from the Koran in public without risking draconian punishment, how many Christians, or Hindus, or Buddhists, can be expected to feel at ease in a society which thus degrades pluralism.

    The thing people overseas need to remember is that while Indonesia may be the largest Muslim majority country in the world, it’s also home to significant minorities of non-Muslims.

    =

    =

    Bali, for example, is a Hindu island, while large Christian communities flourish in Ambon, North Sulawesi,Kalimatan (Borneo) and Sumatra ,where there are tough Bataks and a large Chinese ethnic minority in Medan. There’s also the Catholic island of Flores.

    And even in Jakarta, up to 10% of the capital’s population may be Christian, Buddhist or other religions.

    Sensible Indonesian leaders have always understood this and so religious tolerance was always not simply a moral focus but a recognition of how to keep the country together. That common-sense approach existed from the start, through Sukarno’s personality cult regime and Suharto’s dictatorship.

    =

    General Suharto

    =

    Now, however, fanatics have become a major influence in Indonesian politics. We have seen examples aplenty in recent years, outrageous intolerance against Buddhists…

    …Hindus… Bali Hindu King – Don’t Kill Our Cows! Muslim ‘Scholars’ – Get Lost!!  …

    ….and of course Christians. Oppressed Christians In The Street Heat, In Pluralist Indonesia

    =

    =

    Under President SBY a ferocious discriminatory diktat was issued, the anti-Ahmadiyah Tri-Ministerial Decree, and despite President Jokowi’s talk of pluralism, persecuted Christians in Bogor, Bekasi, etc have had no justice.

    X-Rated Xmas – Foul-Mouths Bully Christians, As ‘Moderate’Mayor Denies They Exist!’

    The imprisonment of Ahok for ‘blasphemy’ has confirmed for many people, not just religious minorities but decent Muslims, true Indonesian conservatives who cling to the traditional tolerance referred to above, that one day, in the not too distant future, they could rise from their beds to the waking nightmare of an Islamic Republic.

    If that were to happen, then separatism could, would, be a serious threat.

    Again, please note, Indonesia does not, like the UK, afford separatists all normal rights and privileges.

    =

    SNP separatist leader Nicola Sturgeon

    =

    If some local equivalent of that ghastly Scots shrew Sturgeon started shrilling for ‘independence’ for any province or island, she’d be charged with treason, and if convicted, she’d have some real problems to whine about.

    In June 2007 in Ambon, these RMS political prisoners danced the Cakalele and raised the RMS flag in front of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono…

    RMS Political Prisoners Reunite With Families After 7-Year Wait

    Hardly surprising therefore that the local cops in Sulawesi were vigorously denying any sign of separatism, despite news photos clearly depicting referendum banners.

    ==========

    Hasil gambar untuk spanduk gerakan referendum minahasa

    http://news.metrotvnews.com/daerah/Rb1OZJ2K-kapolda-tak-ada-referendum-negara-minahasa

    http://www.tribunnews.com/regional/2017/05/15/jangan-biarkan-sulut-terpecah-belah-lmp-sulut-tolak-isu-referendum-minahasa

    But this ‘separatism,’ if separatism it is, is the inevitable consequence of Islamist intolerance. When decent folk of any religion see blood-thirsty fanatics treated as respectable notables by leading politicians, they recoil in disgust.

    But when that disgust is compounded by the realisation that their fundamnetal right to worship as they please is therefore under  threat, and when their form of worship corresponds to their local cultural heritage…?

    What else can the Government expect?

    I am no supporter of separatism. How the people of Indonesia arrange their affairs is up to them, and from 1945 they have generally been quite gifted in working out ways to live together.

    But I do hope, as somebody who has lived here happily for the best part of twenty years and has watched ever more sadly the rise of Islamist intolerance, that somebody in the corridors of power in Jakarta can, even at this eleventh hour, reverse the process of jihadist Arabisation.

    Viva Pancasila!

    The police first summoned Rizieq, Firza, Rizieq’s wife and a friend of Firza’s as witnesses on April 25. However, none of them showed up…the police summoned Rizieq again on May 8 for questioning scheduled on May 10.

    Hilarious story in the Jakarta Post, all about the once-upon-a-time ‘moderate’ Muslim ‘intellectual,’Anies Baswedan, who wants so badly to become the capital city’s governor that he toddled along to explain himself to a fanatic Islamist gang…

    So we should not be in the least surprised by stern denials from Anies’ HQ that his jolly jingle was plagiarized from the Israeli band’s song…

    They boldly declare that  “our song came first, in April 2014, while the Israeli band released its song later, in January 2016.”

    I rarely praise the Jakarta Post but this time the journos there did their home-work.

    The statement, however, is in contradiction with the fact that the song “Hashem Meleh” was uploaded on Jan 27, 2013, as can be seen on the official Youtube account of Gad Elbaz.

    So!

    Something of a serious situation faces the folks working for the “moderate intellectual!”

    But their attempted refutation of the claimed resemblance raises other questions, since they argue that their song was adapted from the Prosperous Justice Party’s jingle.

    Now anyone who purports to be moderate would surely not want in ANY way to be associated in the public mind with the Prosperous Justice Party, known here as the PKS.

     Wahhabism and Women Spell Woe for Fanatic Islamist PKS ’ .

    Likened by many to the Muslim Brotherhood, it is utterly fanatical. One of its recent leaders was the notorious Anis Matta…

    Beware! Very Short Fanatic ‘Long March,’ Jakarta, This Friday!

    Not a fan in any sense of Red China’s Mass-Murderer Mao, I am aware nevertheless that his famous ‘Long March’ across that vast country was indeed long.

    That’s what makes me laugh every time nasty fanatics use the words to describe their very short hate-strolls across central Jakarta.

    Like English, Indonesian is ever-ready to borrow foreign words and phrases, and as you can see, if you read the link, even detik.com has done so.

    Here’s their headline.

    More importantly, for my local readers who might have reason to adjust their travel plans, that number represents the date of the fanatic frolic, viz. 31st March – this Friday!

    As usual, like the previous ‘halal shuffles…’

    Jakarta Mosque – Yellow-Bellies Bash, Spit On, Journos!

    …the actual shuffle (‘march’) goes from the big Istiqlal Mosque down to President Jokowi’s palace.

    But of course the shufflers, sorry, marchers, will have to proceed slowly, to accommodate ranting – it takes your breath away when you repeatedly indulge in bitter, bigoted, sectarian hollering.

    The protesters, most of whom were men dressed in white Muslim attire, were heard yelling, “We want a Muslim governor,” “Burn Ahok!”  Breaking News – Jakarta Cops Tear-Gas Islamist Louts!

    • I use those words – ‘bigoted’ and ‘sectarian’ – confidently because the report says it’s the FUI behind this jolly outing.

    The Forum Umat Indonesia should be familiar if you have been in the habit of reading our blog for a while.

    They are an appalling gang, as our illustration below indicates.

    But strangely, the detik.com report only quotes a notable from the FUI’s like-minded jhadist jerk outfit, the FPI – who else but our local IslamoNazi Jakarta gauleiter…Habib Novel, another piece of work!

    However, they are indeed birds of a feather, no doubt both in agreement with that other fanatic, Habib Rizieq, whose infamous words on the bizarre trial of Governor Ahok continue to echo around Jakarta.

      Why did you make a decision to live there? It must be horrible.
      Today I am looking at Indonesia stories because Francois Hollande has gone on tour around Asia and will be there.
      I hope Hollande goes to see this Long March.
      Maybe he begin to understand why so many of us in France will vote for Marine Le pen,

      I dont care about traffic jam problem.
      More important the danger from these so terrible these FUI and FPI.
      Indonesia is in big risk because of them and nobody will fight them and instead people like Pak Baswedan only go to make friends with them and forget all about freedom and the Pancasila.

    Another Triumph For Islamist Bigotry In Indonesia!

    Sad to see another triumph of intolerance in Indonesia, with Islamists gloating over the suppression of religious liberty in Depok.

    As we predicted yesterday – West Java – Depok’s Damnable Dreary Bigotry, Again!  – a mob of bigots descended on the Ahmadiyah mosque,as the peaceful minority was about to carry out their Friday prayers at the mosque, on Friday (24/2) afternoon.

    Bit of a waste of time, because  the equally bigoted City Government of Depok had already sealed the innocent dissenters’ house of worship.

    =================

    “There have been no reports of resistance at Ahmadiyah mosques when we sealed the place again,” he told local media on site. ‘However,’ he added, “if the seal was to be removed, there would be strict sanctions.”-Local cop, quoted in http://timesofahmad.blogspot.com.au/2017/02/indonesia-ahmadiyya-mosque-in-sawangan.html

    oooooooooooooooooo

    Depok’s record of intolerance is quite spectacular – if you want a laugh, read this one from a few years back.–Islamist Bigot Biter Bit in West Java

     Among the sectarian mob this weekend was Abdullah Shafi, local Muhammadiyah notable.

    • That pretty well finishes off any pretensions by Muhammadiyah to be a voice for ‘moderate’ Muslims.
    • Shafi evidently felt no shame at all in keeping company with the notorious IslamoNazi FPI…

    Seems there were leaflets circulating among the rabble that essentially rejected the existence of Ahmadiyah and described it as a cult.

    Just to emphasise how infantile and vindictive they could be, the mob also asked Depok City Government to cut off electricity to the Ahmadiyya and urgently remove the contents from the Secretariat of the Ahmadiyah.

    • Since nobody in the Presidential Palace seems to have recalled President Jokowi’s previous call for minorities, in Depok or anywhere in Indonesia to be left unharassed – . Jokowi Urges Cops To Protect Minorities – in Depok – I’ll quote at length what the Ahmadis have said in response.
    • “Masjid Al-Hidayah has been established since 1999, is open to the public and already has a building permit (IMB) as a place of worship and our home since 2007.”
    • Mubarak claimed that Ahmadiyah has been actively involved in social activities…staying in touch with leaders and scholars in Sawangan and has never violated any law.
    • “Forced Closure of mosques by the municipal government that bases itself on SKB 3 minister and derivatives to Perwali Depok on Ahmadiyah is not based on the correct rules..”
    • For new readers, that SKB# is the infamous and grotesquely discriminatory Tri-Ministerial Decree – .  http://www.hrw.org/news/2010/11/04/indonesia-uphold-religious-freedom
    • – an intolerant sectarian diktat issued under former President SBY…

    • ——
    • “We deplore the attitude of Depok City Government, as discriminatory and does not carry out its duty to protect its citizens to practice their religion…the right to association and assembly are guaranteed by the state through the constitution…”
    • Ahamdiyah also asked for assertiveness from the President, through the Minister of Internal Affairs, to ensure the Depok City Government does not preclude the right to worship and assemble…
    • Ahmadis also ask police officers to ensure security and the activities of worship that group.

      Its bad when there are so many really ‘moderate’ (sane) Muslims here in Indonesia but so few organisations that represent them.
      Muhammadiyah dont qualify and after that Gandaria City squall a few years ago, NU doesn’t have much credibility either.
      I think we have seen the best days of Indonesia unless Jokowi starts acting instead of just talking about pluralism..

    West Java – Depok’s Damnable Dreary Bigotry, Again!

    No sooner have we reported on the Indonesian President’s alarm at the expansion of democracy in his country, than we have to highlight the shrinkage of religious liberty there.

    …………

    freedom-of-religion

    ………

    Almost needless to say, it’s back to Depok, a West Java municipality that abuts Jakarta, and has been the scene of disgusting persecution for years.

    Shariah City? Some 12,000 Reasons To Steer Clear of Depok!

    • The latest episode occurred this weekend, vicious victimisation of the peaceful and inoffensive Ahmadiyah minority.
    • There’s apparently a video via this Metro TV link.  http://news.metrotvnews.com/peristiwa/ObzB7mlb-muncul-seruan-aksi-242-menolak-ahmadiyah-di-sawangan
    • A mob-march on a small Ahmadi congregation, bigots determined to shut them down? Will the police drive the bigots back, or force the Ahmadis to knuckle under?
    • ..
    • If the cops allow suppression of religious liberty in Depok, it sure won’t be the first time. Even unlawful seizure of the minority’s property has gone unpunished in the past.

      • They make me want to vomit, all the usual suspects reportedly involved.
      • But a few others, people one might have hoped would speak up for pluralist values, have aligned themselves with Depok’s Dark Agers.
      • Metro reports the following have appended their names to an appeal for a bigot mob to prevent the minority creed worshipping God.
      • \
      • Ahmad Daman Huri, head of the Islamic boarding school Al Karimiyah;
      • Abdullah Syafii, MUI Chairman in Sawangan;
      • Syahlani, NU Leader in Sawangan;
      • Mustofa, Muhammadiyah Leader in Sawangan;
      • Agus Rahmat Djaelani, FPI Chairman, Depok City
      • —————-
      • fpi kill busddhist=
        • The IslamoNazi FPI
        • The self-styled ‘scholars’ of the MUI…
        • fatwa mui sholeh
      • ….these outfits are infamous for their intolerance.
      • ————
      • But more depressing is the inclusion of the NU notable, and the man from Muhammadiyah.
      • Those organisations were formerly regarded as moderate.
      • Nowadays?
      • ——–
      • din-syamsuddin-_120703152435-684
      • Din Sanyuddin, MUI chief
      • ————
      • Who knows, since Muhammadiyah’s kingpin, Din, became MUI’s also? I’d hoped Din might stamp out the backward elements among the ‘scholars’ – like their neanderthal enthusiasm for FGM and stoning adulterers.
      • But so far no joy.
      • And now we read of the Depok Muhammadiyah man lending support to suppression of religious freedom.
      • —–
      • Indonesian_National_Police_General's_Visor_Hat
      • It’ll be down to the Depok cops.
      • Going back a year or so, we heard encouraging noises from the Presidential Palace. Jokowi Urges Cops To Protect Minorities – in Depok?
      • But will those police officers heed their president or will innocent people suffer once again at the hands of jihadist jerks?

      So many stories from foreign places this week, Ross, and I know you are far away for now but I like that you do not forget Indonesia.
      This Depok story makes me sad, why can the people not go to the mosque in peace and not get mob coming at them.
      It is not right but I read today the city goverment in Depok act intolerant again and order mosque closed, and police do not protect the Ahmadiya right to worship in own mosque.
      I hope President Jokowi will help them keep their freedom to worship.
