Hot News! Ada Tanamur Lagi? Jakarta Bisa Normal Lagi?

No idea if it’s true or not, but heard a rumour tonight whilst out on the town.

    Tanamur rising?

Tanamur corner – today a scene of derelictiton

I find it hard to credit, but in Jakarta anything is possible.

    It was a BRILLIANT place…

… but I can’t see how it could re-emerge on its original site.

The proximity of that mosque – the mosque was erected later than Tanamur, but never discount the intolerance of Islamists – and the stench from the HQ of the IslamoNazi FPI thug gang, suggests it’s unlikely.

If it surfaces somewhere trendy and costly, like Kuningan, it won’t be the same. Tanamur was a place utterly without pretensions.

    Let’s wait and see.

Given the abject surrender to the enemies of religious liberty under the present regime, GKI Yasmin sealed, the President unwilling to emerge from his Palace even to meet and talk to the persecuted Christians, given the failure of the government to confront the prohibitionist bigots, given the way this beautiful archipelago is being engulfed by creeping shariah…most of us have given up!

The restoration of Tanamur would signal an Indonesian return to normality!

Jakarta IslamoNazi – Paris ‘Reaped the Whirlwind!’

I was all set to go into town, but Jakarta’s rainy season had supervened, so time to browse the news.

There are few more loathesome people in Indonesia than Habib Rizieq, of the IslamoNazi FPI (“Islam Defenders’ Front”)

    • I was watching and waiting to learn what this otherwise lovely country’s lousy bigots would have to say on the subject.
    • Rizieq rarely disappoints.

Rizieq was quoted as saying on Monday (11/22/2015)-
“Who planted the seeds of hatred and hostility, will undoubtedly reap strife and dissension. Who planted the seeds of evil and injustice, will undoubtedly reap revenge and anger.

    • habib_rizieq_temui_hasyim_muzadi Hate-gang guru Rizieq
    • ……………………….
    • “Who planted the seed of cruelty and savagery, will undoubtedly harvest of war and bloodshed. That is why the Indonesian fairy said: “Who spread the wind will reap a storm”.

Is that an oblique allusion to the revelation that one of the Paris terrorists was a sleazy homo rent-boy?Fugitive Paris jihadist loved gay bars, drugs and PlayStation

    Probably not.

But what are we to make of this malignant man’s outburst?

What might the IslamoNazi FPI be expected to reap for what they have sown?

    Hatred and hostility?

Here’s his comrade, Sobri Lubis, on the peaceful Ahmadi minority.

RIP Playboy! “If you take nudity out, what’s left?”

As regular readers know, this blog often carries photos of beautiful and/or sexy women (and yes, this is another excuse to re-display some of them, like Baby Margaretha…

    Cantik buaaanget, Baby!

    And of Roro Fitria…

… who won my admiration not only for her looks but for her guts.    Bravo, Yummy Nikita – Naked Defiance of IslamoNazis!

So cute chicks are part of the show here, though Indonesian censorship prevents anything TOO sexy.

With local gals being gorgeous, no need for anything too overt anyway – they always look great!

    Which brings me to…

Back when I was in my teens, Playboy was not something one purchased. It was expensive, for young oafs still at school and thus with no visible means of support. But somehow, presumably purloined from big brothers (or maybe fathers!) the glossy mag, containing photos of ladies with no visible means of covering their formidable assets, circulated amongst us.

Now we read that no more yummies in a state of total undress will fill its pages. As the Jakarta Post ends its story on this historic development, “If you take nudity out, what’s left?”

Actually, what was left in those days was a heap of left-liberal articles – Playboy ‘s “Top 10 Conservative Women We Hate to Love” – Hugh Hefner being a rampant PC propagandist, so I remain dry-eyed at its shrinking circulation and probable (in my opinion) demise.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. on monogamy: If youre able to take care of 20 ... Hefner with yummy bunnies

Nevertheless, despite my distaste for its liberalism, I spoke up for it some years ago, when the IslamoNazis of the FPI assailed the Indonesian edition, driving the publishers out of  Jakarta while an inane court put the poor editor behind bars. That cretinous conviction was quashed, eventually, and no wonder!

Nazis Go Nuts as Playboy Editor Freed – “Weird Porn Judge!”

Compare and contrast the front pages of Indonesia’s Playboy with what you Western readers know to be typical.

    • I described it at the time as being about as pornographic as The Beano.
    • playboyindo
    • However, as a fan of tradition, even silly tradition, I do feel a tad sad that an iconic magazine is going down the tube, not, probably, for all the reasons they state, falling circulation, etc., but because ‘feminists’ have never liked it and they now rule the roost in the USA.
    • ==========================
    • Though that brings me to another paradox, how those disturbed women have ‘evolved’ from hatred of men’s ‘objectification’ of their breasts etc., to the frantic Femen fillies, whose antics can be amusing, of course, as with the boob-festival they staged for the Islamic fanatics in France…

An Islamic conference's debate on wife-beating was delayed when topless women stormed a stage in France on Sept. 13, 2015. (Image: Femen, Twitter)
    • ..but who are hardly likely ever to be taken as seriously as the bores of NOW in the USA, or that daft Aussie bint, Germaine Greer.
    • Having said that, I tend to prefer Femen. At least they appreciate what a difference a bit of nudity makes to a man’s day!

That’s Islamists For You – Can’t Win The Argument, Call The Cops!

Thanks to Tempo for bringing us up to date on the latest war on freedom of expression waged by the IslamoNazi FPI (Islam Defenders Front) in Semarang, Central Java, which we covered a week or so back.

    • Ahmad Fauzi
    • ==================-

They were getting their little white underpants in a twist because an academic wrote some stuff about incest, Adam and Eve, and schizophrenic religion, and along with their sectarian comrades in the FUI ( Muslim Forum) have been caterwauling for the author, Ahmad Fauzi, to be hauled off by the cops.

Incest? Schizo? Prophet? IslamoNazi Wannabe Censor Calls Cops!

Now they are further incensed after various comments on the guy’s Facebook page, said by their legal expert, Zainal Abidin, to amount to cursing Islam!

This, claims Zainal, is defamation of religion.

Well, big deal. I can’t get worked up about things like this, but I imagine many Christians and Jews would also be miffed about accusations of incest against Adam and Eve.

Yet few if any of them are likely to suggest prison for the accusers. That’s because they are  –

    A grown-ups, and  –

B long since emerged from the Dark Ages. They are also intellectually capable of taking on critics of their creed and arguing it out.

Sadly, like the state-sponsored MUI, these FPI fanatics aren’t up to it. They can’t debate dissent, and fear their co-religionists will listen to other points of view.

    • FPI_13 FPI thugs defending Islam

As for tainting, defaming, etc. religion, that is something the FPI have been doing for years, bringing Islam into disrepute by brazen thuggery – violence and vandalism are how they ‘defend’ their ideology, much like the old PKI, the Indonesian Communist Party.

    It’s banned.

    Why isn’t the FPI?

Incidentally, this charge they want brought is based on the draconian Law No. 11 of 2008 on Information and Electronic Transaction (ITE). Is that not the same nonsense statute that saw poor young Florence jailed for bad-mouthing Jogjakarta and its citizens?

Governor Nixes Fanatic Demand For Ritual Slaughter in School-Yards!

And away we go again, round umpteen of the long-running IslamoNazis V Ahok saga, the nasty bigots of the self-styled ‘Islam Defenders Front (FPI) now ranting about the Jakarta Governor’s ban on Idul Adha sacrificial slaughter on school premises in the capital.

    • ahok Ahok
    • =============
    • Since there are plenty of places for locals to cut the throats of helpless animals all over town, it seems a silly tantrum.
    • Ahok has said the slaughterers must use designated places, on health grounds. ‘Children are at risk of infection from spilt animal blood.’  He’s also pointed out that even Saudi Arabia imposes similar restrictions.

But of course the white-shirt thug gang claims Ahok is thereby ‘harassing Muslims.

The gangsters seem to have many secretary-generals, but the one in the report today is some jihadist jerk called Jafar Sidiq, who says that this bloody ritual has become a tradition for people in Jakarta. Sacrifice at school also gives lessons to children…

I’m sure it does, if schools are purpose-built to inculcate sectarianism. Ahok appears to be on firm ground when he issued his regulation, which applies not just to schools but also public roadsides, etc.

If some fanatic don’t care for the designated slaughter-houses, then the proper place for this kind of  religious ‘sacrifice’ is on religious premises, surely. There, at the mosques, only those who wish to witness this cruel form of killing will be present. Elsewhere, many people would, I’m sure, find it distressing, especially children.

    • ======================
    • But distressing people is something of a way of life for IslamoNazis, as the citizens of Sukorejo saw a year or so ago, the arrogant intolerants invading the town, leaving an innocent woman dead and a citizenry so enraged that the cowardly white-shirts had to flee from their wrath, skulking in a mosque till nightfall, when they got a police escort out of town.

IslamoNazis V Freedom-Fighters? – Some Chicken, Some Neck

Their language is often distressing too, not least to former President SBY, when the then FPI fuhrer likened him to a banci, a cross-dressing hooker.

But pot-kettle analogies don’t resonate with the likes of Jafar, who rounded off his rant by saying his gang would no longer recognise Ahok as Governor (they didn’t anyway – Jakarta’s Anti-Governor?  ) because he always speaks bad words, a mouth like sewage, and is always hurting people.

And of course the FPI are forever courteous in their protests, and would never dream of hurting people.

Collaborate With Jihadists? Hogwash, Say Jakarta Christians!

Sunday morning coming down, me getting up, slowly, and scanning the news, with growing interest.

Thanks to Merdeka.com, for exposing disinformation that could have seriously discredited reputable Christian leaders here in Jakarta.

    • anfpi2
    • ———————-
    •  There’s been an official denial that a widely reported ‘visit’ by the Protestant PGI (Communion of Churches in Indonesia) to the HQ of the vigilante gang calling itself the Islam Defenders’ Front (FPI) even took place!

PGI bantah kunjungi markas FPI di Petamburan

PGI’s Head of Public Relations, Jerry Sumampouw, declared that the story was simply not true.

    •  “There was a group of pastors went there, but not from PGI,” Jerry said. “Regarding this news report, we felt it necessary to state that the visit was not related to the Communion of Churches in Indonesia,” he said.

Merdeka’s responsible research instead suggests that the pastors who went to the FPI HQ were from a group named BAMAG LKKI (Inter-Agency Consultative Indonesian Christian Church Religious Institutions)

Never heard of them! But reassuring to hear that the respectable PGI did not sully its record by sitting down with the brutal white-shirts! No person should, in good conscience, be seen in their company.

    • But what the heck were those other pastors thinking?

They must have been carrying exceedingly long spoons to sup with dangerous fanatics, whose leading lights include people like Sobri Lubis, who openly incited murder against religious minority citizens…

There’s also a mention of the wayward reverends seeing eye-to-eye with their considerate hosts on the evils of the PKI, the Indonesian Communist Party, and of course every decent Indonesian would agree that the Reds were a cancer well-excised.

But equally, most Indonesians would surely see it as odd that an outfit like the FPI, motivated by an intolerant, violent ideology – jihadism – would be in any way entitled to condemn the PKI, which was motivated by an equally intolerant, violent ideology – marxism.

Geriatrics V IslamoNazis – Jakarta 1965 – Whose Victims Were They?

Just been poring over various websites for inspiration, and sure enough, the IslamoNazi FPI provides grist to the mill once more.

This time they’re belly-aching about a get-together of the ‘1965 Murder Victims Research Foundation  (YPKP 65) due to be held around now, in Salatiga, Central Java.

    • anfpi2

Their braying fuhrer, Muchsin, apparently ‘smells communism,’ and, oblivious to the similarities between his movement’s ideology and tactics and those traditionally deployed by the totalitarian hypocrites of Communist Parties everywhere, is threatening to send in jihadist white-shirt louts to break up the gathering.

IslamoNazis V Freedom-Fighters? – Some Chicken, Some Neck

…unlike when they run up against able-bodied citizens, like those who sent them scuttling to that Sukorejo mosque, cowering like cornered rats til the cops escorted them out of town under cover of darkness.

It’s quite natural for Indonesia to ban the PKI. They were an evil organisation of knaves and traitors, and, as noted, hypocrites, like that rubbish writer Pramoedya – his unethical role during one of the darkest periods for creativity during the Guided Democracy era, when he led the persecution of artists and literary figures who disagreed with him. (this protest is air-brushed out of most Western references nowadays, though a brief mention is to be found in an otherwise slavishly pro-Pram article in the Economist  http://www.economist.com/node/168819 )

But it’s up to police to enforce that law, not sectarian hoodlums.

    pkiposter PKI thugs

As for their intended targets, which murders are they on about? If it includes DN Aidit, the putative Commissar-in-Chief of the red tyranny the PKI wanted, then no regrets. he got what was coming to him, and what he would have dished out in spades to any freedom-loving Indonesian who got in communism’s way. That’s what communists do. That was why they were smuggling in weaponry –  those 10,000 rifles from their Beijing pay-masters!

But if it’s the many poor folk gulled into the PKI’s labour and peasant front groups, who were culled mercilessly in the aftermath of the failed kudeta, then, yes, remember them, as victims, in reality, of the PKI, whose lies they fell for and thus made themselves marked men, and women.

    • anti_communism_by_leandrotr Indonesia routed the Reds in 1965

The blades and bullets that killed those simple folk were used by anti-communists, cruelly, but besides the physical guilt of the people who took them out, there’s surely a moral guilt too.

The victims would not have been in the firing line had they not been propagandised into becoming running-dogs for a movement as satanic as they come.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of YPKP 65, Bedjo Untung denied everything. Not a hammer, sickle, nor even the word ‘communism’ had ever been used since his outfit was founded.

Let’s wait and see. The dead are dead and gone. But all too often there is confusion, sometimes deliberate, about those who are still alive.

If Bedjo is interested in the rights of the innocent, people victimised for just being realted to reds, or falsely accused of being reds, fair enough. But if he is claiming that unrepentant PKI traitors should be treated as honest citizens, then he deserves the cold shoulder.

Jakarta ‘Scholars’ Talk of Tolerance – Who’s Their Honoured Colleague?

As a blogger who tries his best to defend Indonesia against present or possible criticism, by pointing out that sectarian nastiness, as exemplified by the FPI, the FUI and Hizbut Tahrir, in no way reflects the thinking of many decent Muslims here, I have to say my task is not always helped by the spokesmen of Islamic organisations which purport to be ‘moderate’ or ‘mainstream.’

    • fpi kill busddhist
    • ——————————————
    • These terms are of course relative. Compared to the FPI, for example, the MUI ( not to be confused with the FUI) seems ‘moderate.’ Their self-styled ‘scholars’ do not go about revelling in thuggery and vandalism – though some of them are a bit slack about disowning it, and at least one of their senior members is a blood-thirsty bigot, but he’s the king-pin of the FUI.
    •    Lively Hustings Likely in West/North Jakarta!
    • ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Today, flicking through the local news, once more this problem crops up, in respect of the news from Tolkara, in Papua, where a mosque was set on fire last week.

I’ll look at the arson shortly, but first what about the total of 33 scholars who are members of the presidium of the Alliance of Indonesian Ulema (AAUI) who have issued a statement – which actually sounds more like an ultimatum – on the arson.

These gents are given much prominence in Republika.com, which is not surprising, given that newspaper’s Islamic leanings. But who do they represent?

    Nu Nahdlotul Ulama

Well, there are two representatives fom the NU, invariably characterised by all media as ‘Indonesia’s largest moderate Muslim group,’ and one from Muhammadiyah, equally invariably described as the ‘second-largest moderate Muslim group.’

But if you use our link and look at the photo of the platform party, who’s up there with them, speaking up against intolerance?

    muchsin alatas fpi

From the left, Habib Muhsin Alatas,  Sekretaris Majelis Syura of the FPI….    http://www.republika.co.id/berita/nasional/hukum/15/07/18/nrn8xi-ini-8-sikap-aliansi-alim-ulama-indonesia-soal-pembakaran-masjid

Yeah, the FPI, the Islam Defenders Front, a paragon of pluralism, ever-ready to promote peace and goodwill, a champion of tolerance par excellence…like HELL!

Check out just a handful of our coverage.

Jakarta Ethnic Cleansing? Murder Threat No Big Deal?

‘Bunuh, bunuh, bunuh,’ – ‘kill, kill, kill!’ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7RLCXNdKF4

–And the worst, arguably, of Muchsin’s comrades, still holding high FPI office, has to be Sobri Lubis, the savage who urged a mindless mob to go forth and murder members of the peaceful Ahmadi minority.

So what possesses high-rankers of the NU and Muhammadiyah to sit down with the likes of a leader of an IslamoNazi thug gang?.

By doing so they make an instant mockery of whatever decent cause may be concerned. They also, of course, tarnish the reputation of their own outfits. And if they somehow seriously regard themselves as ‘scholars,’ and treat a gang-leader as a ‘scholar,’ what does that tell us about their own ‘scholastic’ qualifications?

The proper thing to do, if you are up on a platform for something you believe is a worthy issue, and you find somebody unworthy is on that platform too, is either to find an alternative venue free from that taint, or to simply throw the blighter off.

    They did neither.

I’ll get back to the ultimatum later tonight.

Happy Idul Fitri – But NOT for Persecuted Minority!

Very quiet today, and yesterday, and would be quieter still without my visitor, who dismounted the busway only to find the office complex through which one normally passes has had its back gate locked, presumably for the Idul Fitri holiday, though the front is open wide!

Never mind, my guests are a resourceful bunch. Brunch is being prepared.

But the sense of ease we are enjoying here in Jakarta is not likely shared by Indonesia’s most oppressed minority. the peaceful and utterly inoffensive Ahmadis.

Viva.co.id -reports today that a decent Muslim MP from th PKB party is investigating the latest reports of bigot bureaucrats denying them basic civil rights in West Java.

The Kuningan district of that benighted province has long been the scene of disgusting intolerance, sometimes by the IslamoNazi thug gang, the FPI, and also by the ghastly governor, whose charming Hitlerian wish for the dissenters to be ‘disappeared’ we reported two years ago.https://rossrightangle.wordpress.com/2013/05/08/adolf-hitler-if-the-jews-disappear-the-problem-disappears/

I certainly have no plans to convert to even the Ahmadi version of Islam, but the fact is they are GOOD people. I just watched their American spokesman on tv, reminding us that in their hundred year history, Ahmadis have never produced a single sectarian terrorist.

They don’t display that nauseating disloyalty we see in cases like Fort Hood’s traitor Nidal, or the filthy scum who beheaded Britain’s brave soldier in Woolwich. On the contrary –

    • royal_wedding_ahmadiyya

    • Ahmadis here are good people too, but here they get martyred by swine like those in the photo below, at Cikeusik in 2011.

“There needs to be discussion with the Minister, the MUI and the Ahmadis,”‘ says the PKB legislator, Yanuar Prihatin, who expects the government to serve every citizens, regardless of creed.

Warga Ahmadiyah di Kuningan Kesulitan Dapat KTP

He reckons the obstacle is the ridiculous ‘religion’ column in the KTP. But he doesn’t suggest the obvious solution, its eradication.

Well, the Minister of Religious Affairs has so far seemed a massive improvement on his fanatic predecessor, but the MUI?

    fatwa mui sholeh

C’mon, Yanuar, you know as well as everyone else in Indonesia that the self-styled ‘scholars’ of the MUI are among the most intolerant people in the land. How can Yanuar sensibly expect their help in solving the problem.

These Dark Agers refuse to accept the Ahmadis are Muslim. The Ahmadis say they are, but the MUI just can’t stand any contradiction to their dogmatic definition. They cower from debate with dissenters – instead they call the cops, who regrettably all too often collaborate in the MUI’s vendetta against religious liberty.

Cops – “Islamist ‘Scholars’ Can Veto Religious Liberty”

By way of contrast, look at the Indonesian Protestant community. Like Protestants everywhere, they comprise a wide variety of denominations, Baptists, Presbyterians, Calvinists, Adventists, the whole disputatious range. Not one of them seeks to deny any of the others the right to list their creed on the KTPs.

    Why would they?

Hurrah for Ahok – Jakarta Governor Speaks Up for Religious Liberty!

    Hurry for Ahok!

After the South Jakarta Adminstration sent in its municipal goon-squad to shut down the Ahmadi minority’s place of worship  Jakarta’s Governor has taken a stand that surely sends a thrill of pride through every decent citizen.

    ahok Ahok

CNN Indonesia reports that Ahok yesterday told media he’d called the South Jakarta Mayor to account for the shocking display of intolerance.

“I’ve been calling the mayor,” he said, adding that he saw no reason to seal houses of worship, especially if they do not interfere with the activities of local communities.

And that, he added, went for  anyone, any belief…moreover, he said, they’ve been on the site since the 1980s.

    • freedom-of-religion
    • ================
    • And better still, he denounced the iniquitous ministerial decree often used for this kind of shut-down, challenging its legal basis.

It is used as the basis for any intolerant group to launch these actions!”

CNN helpfully provides details of the decree –

First, a list of names and identity card (KTP) of the house of worship’s users, at least 90 people  passed by the local authorities..

Secondly, the support of the local community, at least 60 people passed by the headman or village head.

Third, the written recommendation of Religious Affairs Office of the Chief of the district / city.

And the fourth, written recommendations FKUB (Communication Forum for Religious) district / city.

“Our Prayers Disturbed His!” Pluralism in Jokowi’s Jakarta?

Admirable Ahok declares that it would be his pleasure to assist the victims of persecution now if they  need help when filing for an IMB (Building Permit)…”There is no tolerance for intolerant doctrine on that basis,” he said.    http://www.cnnindonesia.com/nasional/20150711114556-20-65840/ahok-izinkan-ahmadiyah-bangun-masjid-jika-ajukan-izin-resmi/

As so often, Ahok is a voice for decency and sanity. One of few who can get a hearing. I see a local Jakarta support group has recruited over 10,000 members in just three weeks. Dalam 3 Minggu, “Teman Ahok” Kumpulkan 10.262 KTP – Kompas

And if you’re not local, you can still do a little bit to back this good guy, by ‘liking’ his Facebook page, here. https://www.facebook.com/AhokBasuki
