Jakarta Selasa? Just Stay At Home!

Jakarta’s Governor Anies Baswedan is not unfamiliar with the rabid sectarian fanatics who call themselves the Islam Defenders Front (FPI)….

    • Anies wins an adoring smile from ferocious FPI ‘grand imam, Habib Rizieq, who had recently suggested the Christian Governor Ahok be slain for unacceptably quoting some Koranic verse –.“We encourage the government to process the death penalty for Ahok as soon as possible,” said Rizieq.

    • ….

….but he may have mixed feelings about their latest move.

Along with a clutch of other Islamist extremist bodies, including the notorious PA 212…

… whose ‘marchers’ so proudly showed off their civic conscience during the campaign (alas successful) to have Anies’ Christian predecessor Ahok jailed for ‘blasphemy…’

Ahok, now thankfully out of jail

    Slouching Towards Shariah

….the FPI are taking to the streets of Indonesia’s capital tomorrow, motivated, so they claim, by the same anger that drove last Friday’s demo, namely the passage of the labor reform law.

You may wonder why I wouldn’t join a demo organised by something calling itself the ‘National Anti-Communist Alliance,’ as there’s nobody more hostile to marxism than I am.

Let’s just say, when it comes to whom I march with, I’m a tad picky. And besides, I respect and applaud Indonesian law, that forbids non-Indonesians interfering in the country’s internal affairs.

That demo last Friday turned into mayhem, millions of dollars worth of damage done and hundreds, or thousands, detained by police.

Portland Indonesia? Thugs Stone Cops! Black-Clad Louts!

At least 11 Transjakarta bus stations were ransacked by the protestors, with the one near Hotel Indonesia roundabout burned down to the ground.

There is every reason to believe that demo was infiltrated by undesirables, maybe Antifa Red Nazis, or paid criminals or….who knows?

We await more details on who organised that!

Given how the FPI have displayed ferocious blood-lust in previous demos..

…methinks Governor Anies, and the rest of us, will be hoping for no action replays.

As for me, with the relaxation of the virus rules, I was contemplating a trip into town…

…but a trifle uncertain, as the busways were targetted for vandalism by the rabble last week and I’m not sure if all the routes are running.

Now, however, I have made up my mind.

Given a choice of navigating streets a-swarm with a fanatic mob, or not?

    Easy decision!

    Just stay home!

Yes it is best to be at home tomorrow, Ross!
They are very dangerous people. Also it is raining a lot this month.

i an home all day because of virus fear.
Now more reason to be home tommorow because I think demo riot bigger threat than virus.

I will stay home from now until Wednesday, even alrhough it will be boring for me.
Much better to be bored than to be attacked or be in between rioters and police.

Wot Next, Oz? Blasphemy Law? Cut The TurnBull-Sh-t!

The Prime Minister suggested on Friday that he had not asked Mr Lewis to phone Mr Hastie. “Look, I haven’t given Duncan Lewis any — I haven’t asked him to do, to make, give any advice to anybody in particular, but I encourage Duncan Lewis to speak to as many people as he can,” Mr Turnbull said.

    • But it turns out Turnbull is lying.

News Corp Australia’s Sunday newspapers revealed yesterday that Mr Turnbull had texted Mr Lewis to give him Mr Hastie’s phone number, soon after the Prime Minister met the new MP in Perth to talk about his views on Islam.  http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/nation/pm-warned-on-stifling-islam-debate/news-story/

You don’t hand out somebody’s number to somebody else unless you want, hope, expect that recipient to use it. Otherwise, there’s no point in doing so.

It wold appear Australia now has a PM eager to compete with Britain’s David Cameron in the dishonesty stakes.

    It’ll be a hard-fought contest!

But there’s a lot more to this issue.

Australia’s spy chief has told politicians from the ruling conservative party to tone down their criticism of Islam as it could pose a national security risk, according to reports.

How low can these people bend over? Of course in a free country, citizens may criticise religion, any religion, as much as they like.

Otherwise there might as well be a bigot blasphemy law, as indeed has been demanded by savages, like those in the above photo, in Oz and other Western countries.

The report goes on to quote Tony Abbott’s perfectly reasonable assertion that “we can’t remain in denial about the massive problem with Islam….”

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said Thursday she supported Lewis’ reported actions….While Abbott regularly used strong language against the Islamic State group, routinely referring to it as the “death cult,” current leader Malcolm Turnbull, who replaced him in a party coup in September, has taken a more moderate line.

Of course there are plenty of decent, pro-democracy Muslims, in Australia as here in Indonesia. We have often praised brave Muslims here who stand up to evil extremists like Hizbut Tahrir and the FPI.  Bravo, Purwakarta! IslamoNazis Cower Behind Cops – Again!

But nobody denies that HTI and FPI and similar fanatics ARE Muslim.

Australia's Grand Mufti stands with Sydney siege gunman Man Haron ... PM with malignant mufti

    Australia, Deport This Sex-Obsessed Sectarian!

And nobody denies that subversive aliens like the Grand Mufti of Australia  are Muslim.

So there IS a problem within Islam, and until decent Muslims devise some means of excommunication, that problem will remain.

And it remains the right and duty of all patriotic and democratic Australians to denounce those who put sectarian allegiance above Queen and Country.

Lot of good points made in this, my friend, but I like best you calling Turnbull a liar. I wish his own party would have the balls to say the same.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
