Some readers may remember various stresses and strains involved in drawing up a list of guests to be invited to a wedding.

Why not?

The visitor was in the vicinity and the invitation could only be good for inter-governmental relations.

He’s the FPO patriot party’s man on the board of Österreichischer  Rundfunk (ORF)  and he’s threatened to axe one third of its foreign correspondents.after what he calls “biased” reporting on the Hungarian election.

He told the Salzburger Nachrichten newspaper, that foreign correspondents who “do not behave correctly” would risk losing their jobs….

….and that ORF journalists who violate the company’s social media guideline “will receive a warning — and then be dismissed.”

Needless to say, ORF hacks with their snouts deep in the public purse….

Their self-satisfied arrogance was never more brashly expressed than by Alexander Wrabetz, ORF Director General.

ORF editorial board member Dieter Bornemann described the attacks on the broadcaster by its own supervisory body as “a new low in media policy.“

Austrian State Media ‘Sorry’ For ‘Tech Prob’ Slur On Patriot

Further to our recent piece on the tax-funded Austrian state media ORF, a thoughtful reader has sent in a story published in the Vienna newspaper Wiener Zeitung.

It’s a tale which needs to be more widely told to patriots all over Europe – and beyond –  disgusted by the ‘public broadcasters’ who parasitically leech of tax-payers.

It seems the ORF ‘s provincial director in Tyrol ‘has apologized to Markus Abwerzger,‘ the FPÖ chief there.

This was done verbally but the report tells us that Abwerzger confirmed the conversation, but insisted on a public confirmation by the ORF.

What was the fuss about?

ORF Tirol had done some neat trimming of a filmed report in which it looked as if the FPÖ leader would approve of an anti-Jewish passers-by’s words. 

But it did not reflect the true course of events at all!

The passage in which the FPÖ boss contradicted the man was cut away by ORF.

As the newpaper unsurprisingly adds, the video caused a stir in the network.

However, I’m glad to say the FPO vote rose from just over 9% to over 15% – despite the error-prone media!

I obviously don’t get to see ORF Austria’s state media, but have today been reading up on it.

The FPO has long argued that ORF has a left-wing bias. The main board that oversees the organization’s work is mostly composed of political appointees, and the government nominates some of those board members directly. The current director general, Alexander Wrabetz, is a Social Democrat.

But much more important is the fact that Herbert Kickl, of the FPÖ patriot party,  has got off to a very promising start as Austria’ Interior Minister, with a pledge to crack down on disgraceful alien ingrates.

Wherever you are, you must wish your own governemnt would also start work on the speedy deportation of migrants who have been denied asylum.

As an example of what he describes as “very, very tough asylum policies,” he’s proposed that the government  should be able to check migrants and asylum seekers’ mobile data, in order to gather information about refugee routes.

While it’s a welcome and sensible move, it’s also a measure of how sloppy and soppy attitudes in Europe have become…

Same goes for another of his planned reforms,  mandatory X-rays to determine asylum-seekers’ age for legal purposes.
