    Turdo’s Flunkeys Turn To Book-Burning!

There’s nothing so abhorrent as book-burning, even if the books are taken out of circulation, made inaccessible, by means other than that preferred by Hitler’s fans.

    Germany, 1930s, Canada 2022?

And surely the vilest of book-burners are those whose professional duty is to publish and/or to protect books.

Here in Indonesia we have yet to get an apology from that Gramedia company, who collaborated with sectarian bigots a few years ago to create a bonfire of books that offended ignoramuses…

Grovelling Gramedia’s BookBurning Bonanza – Appeasing Fanatics

….nor has the so-called ‘liberal’ Jakarta Post (English-language) ever had the decency or integrity to condemn their Gramedia buddies for that cultural crime.

But now we learn that some far-left vixen, Leslie Weir by name, in Canada…

=Canada's head archivist appoints herself censor-in-chief

…appointed, of course, by pretty Boy Turdo, is aiming to wage war on Canadian history because it might ‘offend’ whiners and agitators…

…especially by depicting Red Indians in ways other than those that soothe their resentments.

chief archivist Leslie Weir told employees at Library and Archives Canada to purge thousands of pages, including a biography of Canada’s first prime minister Sir John A. Macdonald.

“We need to discuss having a disclaimer on the website about having content that may offend people. I feel very strongly about that,” Weir said in an email on June 9, 2021.

It’s not her job to decide what might offend whom, nor should it matter.

If the archives contain photocopies of her huge pay-check, typical of those that tax-funded bureaucrats hog into…

…$250,000 a year, nearly, then that would certainly offend me, or pictures of her revelling…

…in the hospitality of the world’s largest dictatorship (see the linked reports) – offensive indeed, but it’s NOT her job to censor,  esp.  if it’s done according to her supercilious woko-loco ideology.

Nor should there be ‘disclaimers’ – it’s high time some whining uptights got offended.’

    What an arrogant old baggage!

“Much of the content on the Library and Archives Canada website reflects the time at which it was written.

    Wow! Funny that!

We understand much of this outdated historical content no longer reflects today’s context and may be offensive to many.

And NOT offensive to many others. But who cares about those who hold different perspectives from hers?

So what, if there’s material that vexes Injun activists, or their non-Injun fellow-travellers.

Time some pinko dweebs got round to growing up!

Weir’s criteria for offensive history included any page that erased Indigenous people, had “outdated terminology,” and anything that “lacked Indigenous perspectives and/or that ignores or dismisses the impact of colonialism.”

    Get stuffed.

Without ‘the impact of colonialism,’ there would be no Canada.

Every Canadian should thank God every day for those brave pioneers.

You really hate book-burners, Ross. Is it just that you dislike the people who burn books in general or is it because you wrote some books yourself?
I was meaning to ask you if you are working on another block-buster. The pandemic here in Jakarta must have given you food for thought.

    Exposed – Ontario’s Nazi-Style Book-Burners

In 1930s Germany, it was all the rage…

…and, so it seems, in parts of modern Canada!

The “flame purification” ceremony, first reported by Radio Canada, was held in 2019 by the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence, which oversees elementary and secondary schools in southwestern Ontario.

Having frequently expressed disgust at the notorious Gramedia book-burning….

Grovelling Gramedia’s BookBurning Bonanza – Appeasing Fanatics

      • burning books

      • ==========

….here in Jakarta, a shocking cultural atrocity pandering to sectarian fanatics…

…I’m frankly sickened by this repugnant revelation about nazi-style arson in Ontario….

…where I spent much of my boyhood.

At least, since it was belatedly exposed, most Canadian media are suitably appalled, unlike the leftist English-language rag here.

Jakarta Post Against Book-Burning – If The Books Are Leftist

I’d not have heard about the Ontario outrage, were it not for an excellent piece in spiked.com, so in addition to the link to the National Post…

    …..I append another…

    Woke book-burning

…so you can read what Brendan O’Neill wrote.

He extends his indignation to include the very un-British vendetta waged by militant freaks against a book I haven’t read…

Abigail Shrier’s Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters.

    …but certainly sounds worth reading.

Having said all that, I feel sorry for the current crop of Ontario schoolchildren.

Although  that ‘educational’ politburo, the Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence…

…claims now to ‘regret’ its aping of Hitler’s henchmen, get this, from its spokesperson,  Lyne Cossette –

So it’ll be full of pinko creepery, promoting ‘parity of esteem’ between ‘LGBTI’ maladjusts and normal folk, and pushing multiculti..

….and damned few, if any, books suggesting that multicult is pernicious, the gaystapo agenda is offensive and wokery is junk-think!

      It is a horrible story.

Their book-burning was maybe premature but it showed how dictatorial they think.
Just like you tell it, they are stocking libraries with ‘woke’ books and excluding anything anti-woke.
Canada has become less and less free since Turd the First’s Charter took power away from the people ( elected parliament) and gave it to unelected judges, and the ‘human rights’ commission-inquisitions were set up to crush free speech.

Trumpophobic Jakarta Post? Time To Pull The Plug!

There are a number of uptight Trumpophobe Americans in Jakarta and they no doubt will have been delighted to read the ‘opinion” in the Jakarta Post earlier this month…

…actually, more a long-drawn-out whine than an ‘opinion,’ from its deputy editor, a geezer named M. Taufiqurrahman.

This hack witters about his ‘love’ for America…

’America, we love you, but you’re bringing us down…’

But it’s a very conditional love, which depends, it seems, on whether or not Americans vote as this undistinguished Indonesian pinko journo thinks fit and proper.

He even takes a side-swipe at President Jokowi….

…if anything, the Trump government’s “inspire-hope” campaign very much looks like…

…what the administration of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo attempted when allocating $5.2 million to pay influencers to promote Indonesia’s tourism industry, which has been battered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Like, what’s that got to do with America?

Mr. M T, remember, is a senior level J.P. guy, so when he goes on to moan about the poor hard-done-by American left-liberal media…

…quoting their pressure group, the so-called ‘Committee to Protect Journalists’ that President Trump’s rhetoric and actions have discredited the media and threaten democracy in America…

when in fact we know it’s biased left-liberal media that have been making war on democracy there…

we are entitled to ask him about the Indonesian media he himself is part of, notably the Jakarta Post and its parent company, Gramedia.

M Tauf should be offering an ( albeit belated)  denunciation of Gramedia’s outrageous collaboration in a Nazi-style book-burning.

Jakarta Post Against Book-Burning – If The Books Are Leftist

…and of his Jakarta Post’s nauseating double-standard, bemoaning arson of leftist books but abjectly failing to issue any editorial condemnation of that Hitlerian scene in the photo above!

    Instead, get this leftist drivel!

Looking at how things are going in America right now, people who are convinced that America could be the force of good are now getting really worried.

True, because Trump is still slightly behind the ever further leftwing Dems!

    But that’s not Tauf’s meaning!

The US has been fraught with problems ranging from racism and economic inequality to militarization of its society, but we feel it has now reached its breaking point.

Thompson shouted. “F*** your motherf***ing peace, white racist motherf***ers!

Major Party Candidate Exposed As Racist Hate-Beast – BBC Silent!

Yes, the vicious BLM bigots are a problem.

As for economic inequality, we must acknowledge that bad billionaires are a blight on American society, Soros being one obvious example…

…but not to forget the many other malign magnates funding Biden’s hefty war-chest.

Stripping them of their wealth and spreading it among the humble, honest, patriotic people who like Trump?

As to ‘militarisation of its society,’ one is at a loss to know what he’s wittering about…

….unless it’s the violence of the red nazi antifa hoodlum movements.

Back to the Trumpophobe, Tauf, whose confessions are moving.

I can say from personal experience that loving America is difficult.

This is so, apparently, because he got a speeding ticket in 2008, while rushing to celebrate Obummer the racist’s election victory….

…which he describes as one of America’s greatest political achievements…

    Yeah, right!

But nowadays, Tauf’s got his knickers in a right, sorry left, twist, because, and here’s the accurate measure of  this JP man’s bitter leftism…

this November, if voters in the Midwest make another wrong choice, it would be impossible to love America. –

Actually, I love Indonesia, and that’s despite awful things here, like the FPI…

…and the obsession among some of the so-called ‘intelligentsia’ with attempts to rehabilitate the unlamented red vermin of the PKI.

Jakarta Post – Never Miss a Chance to Re-Hab Reds!

One hopes Mr. T will not stop loving his own country if Indonesians don’t follow the august advice of a callow Jakarta Post deputy editor on how to vote.

About the same proportion of Americans as Indonesians read this little blog of mine. It’s free and I hope they enjoy it.

It’s high time those who actually waste their money subscribing to Tauf’s newspaper start UNSUBSCRIBING!

If they want a good spread of local news, they’ll get a better standard of reporting in Tempo!

As for overseas news, there’s plenty out there, and the JP uses so much agency stuff, why not read actual overseas media?

It would be nice to see Tauf’s leftist rag flushed down the toilet!

    BOYCOTT the Jakarta Post.

Prabowo Faces Jakarta Post Quadrennial Gibbering!

And off we go again, an outstanding display of double-standards by the Jakarta Post, which re-hashed its long-winded explanation from four years ago on why it is anti-Prabowo and pro-Jokowi!

We are encouraged that one candidate [Jokowi] has displayed a factual record of rejecting faith-based politics. At the same time we are horrified that the other [Prabowo] affiliates himself with hard-line Islamic groups who would tear the secular nature of the country apart…    https://www.thejakartapost.com/academia/2019/04/09/we-may-ruin-our-incredible-democratic-achievements-since-1999.html

The Jakarta Post unequivocally deplores religious thugs who forward an intolerant agenda.

    Oh yeah?

How often does it get thus HORRIFIED at involvement with such unspeakable people?

Has the JP a consistent record of being ‘HORRIFIED’ by people who collaborate with religious thugs who forward an intolerant agenda?

Regular readers here at RRA will remember the infamous Nazi-style book-burning in Jakarta, sponsored not only by the most backward Islamist fanatics…

…but by Indonesia’s largest publishing empire, Gramedia, of which, last I heard, the Jakarta Post is part.

That was a Hitlerite atrocity against free expression.

If the Jakarta Post, even so late as this election eve, now condemns its Gramedia overlords, then perhaps they may be forgiven the sin of selective indignation.

Jakarta Post Trumpophobes? Give ‘Em Mirrors For Xmas!

Dehumanization still prevails, as evident, for example, in United States President Donald Trump’s warning about using violence to keep immigrants from the country’s poor neighbors at bay…   https://www.thejakartapost.com/academia/2018/12/22/a-silenced-night.html

Skip the telling omission of the key adjective ‘ILLEGAL’ that should always be lodged securely in front of the word ‘immigrants’ in discussion of the Honduras Horde.

Skip the omission of the fact that even Mexican citizens on that border have demanded that those crimmigrants be sent back to where they belong.

There’s nothing at all ‘dehumanising‘ about any head of state taking responsible steps to defend his country’s sovereign frontiers.

America has more than enough undesirable aliens without importing more.

I’m sure the American Ambassador in Jakarta will have been advised of this insulting JP rant and one hopes he will compose a corrective letter to whichever of that coy clique, the ‘editorial board’ of the Jakarta Post, he can put a name to.

It’s VERY telling that whoever wrote their offensive tripe felt it prudent not to sign it, preferring to hide behind the anonymity of the ‘board.’

What it tells us is that the Jakarta Post’s ruling clique is no more courageous today than it was when it held its collective tongue on its pay-masters’…

…the business empire, Kompas Gramedia, of which the JP is part  –

…collusion with sectarian zealot book-burning, an outrageous Nazi-style assault on freedom of expression.

Any newspaper purporting to be concerned with ‘dehumanisation’ would have erupted in editorial thunder when that took place.

But not a peep of condemnation from the Jakarta Post ‘editorial board!’

Whether their sickening silence was because they approved of the bigots who aped the followers of Adolf Hitler…

    German Nazi book-burning, 1930s

…or because they cowered from upsetting the collaborators in the parent company, who knows?

But it certainly disqualifies that sad section of the Indonesian media from pontificating on what is ‘dehumanising.’

Perhaps somebody should run down to the shops tomorrow and buy a bunch of mirrors, so that every member of the JP board can make good use of them on Christmas morning.

    Related image

Or else use the above JP link to their ‘editorial’ and ask the anonymous clique, via the comment column, why their ‘Christmas Message’ includes not only a rant against Trump, but a one-side witter about ‘Palestine’ – with no mention of Hamas terrorism?.

British Council Embraces Hacks Long-Silent On Book-Burning?

As you may know, the British Council is funded by UK tax-payers. It calls itself a ‘charity’ but is very much part of the Foreign Office apparatus.

“There is a widespread assumption that The British Council is a wing of our Secret Intelligence Services, however minor. Officially it is no such thing but there are connections……..”   Feuds and turf wars put Fresh Talent flagship plan in jeopardy

Unfortunately, UK tax-payers don’t get to know much about that sort of thing, nor do they get much say in what the BC does “Speaker Michael Martin in secrecy row over British Council trips”The Daily Telegraph

And THEN there are such activities as….

Collaboration with Red China’s communist censors…

Ma Jian protest paints the London Book Fair red.

    …and promotion of ‘gay’ propaganda…

If you are a Brit tax-payer, maybe you think that’s an outrageous abuse of your money.

Or maybe you are okay with that sort of nonsense.

However, today, a look at the British Council’s open collaboration with a newspaper infamous here for its failure to condemn IslamoNazi book-burning!

“Writing on Diversity”, an event hosted by The Jakarta Post and The Jakarta Post Writing Center in partnership with Raffles Hotel Jakarta and British Council Indonesia.

The report adds that those present included former chief editor of The Jakarta Post Endy Bayuni…the discussion focused on how writers can employ diversity to help counter rising intolerance.    http://www.thejakartapost.com/multimedia/2018/04/02/writing-on-diversity-taking-up-stories-against-intolerance.html

I don’t know about the ‘writers’ present, but I do know about Endy Bahyuni, who, as noted, for some years held a senior editorial position at the Jakarta Post.

Endy has more than once presented himself as a fan of free expression and religious tolerance.

“Don’t give any room to the hard-liners,” said Endy…“Please cover them when they’re violating the law, but don’t give space to small group of people when they rally against something absurd. They used the media effectively and deceive the media to suit their own means. ”http://www.thejakartaglobe.com/news/indonesian-media-needs-to-cover-religion-not-radicals-iarj/

That was a year after Gramedia collaborated with the bigots, and we duly took note!

Bayuni’s Bravado, Gramedia’s Grovel, Jakarta Post’s Double Standards

That occasion, a couple of years ago, would have been a golden opportunity for Endy to redeem his newspaper’s good name with a spirited public denunciation of the Gramedia company, of whose business empire the JP is part.

Alas, he did not take that opportunity, nor, so far as news reports tell us, did he do so at the Raffles Hotel this month.

Nor, to the best of my knowledge, has any member of the editorial clique ever done so.

Despite its frequent blathering about the virtues of pluralism, I have yet to see any JP editorial condemnation of Gramedia’s disgusting grovel to sectarian censorship, which occurred five years ago…

….an episode which culminated in an action replay, jointly supervised by Gramedia and Islamist ‘scholars,’ of the sort of conflagration – book-burning- which characterised Hitler’s Germany.

    Germany, 1930s (above)

    Indonesia 2012 (below)

I would suggest the British Council be instructed by the UK Embassy here in Jakarta to cut all ties with this pathetic rag until the editors thereof grow a set and disown their parent company’s blazing appeasement of Islamist bigotry

Stop Being Wussies, Jakarta Post! Condemn Gramedia Collabos!

A long-winded Easter editorial in the Jakarta Post ends up with this stirring exhortation to young Indonesian Christians.

Followers of Christ should rise and enhance their contribution for their nation, not just for their own groups. Most Indonesians are tolerant, moderate and inclusive.

The number of intolerant people is indeed rising. But the tendency should not excuse you from serving your nation and country. Happy Easter!

And this is indeed an admirable sentiment, as is their headline…

    EDITORIAL: Easter: Stop being wussies

But it’s very easy to shrill thus from within an editorial ivory tower, a much safer position than was that of the Christians, young and old, in Bekasi, or Bogor, two cities that border Jakarta…

Christ’s Ascension Day – Islamist Savages Pelt Congregation With Sewage, Urine and Rocks

Head-Scarfed Harpies Hurl Dung and Urine at Christians

X-Rated Xmas – Foul-Mouths Bully Christians, As ‘Moderate’Mayor Denies They Exist!’

…when bigoted savages, neither arrested nor charged by the police on the scene, assailed them viciously, vilely and violently.

Both congregations victimised in the above reports remain unable to worship in their churches – Indonesian readers know all about this and overseas readers can check the facts easily enough.

But let’s be fair. The Jakarta Post itself knows all about intolerant Islamist intimidation.

Their parent company, Gramedia, was faced with Islamist intrusion into their rights a few years ago.

The management cowered and caved in, violating basic principles of free expression, in an action replay of Nazi Germany’s book-burning atrocities.

Never once has the JP’s editorial clique ever condemned that shameful collaboration with sectarian fanatics, not that I’ve ever seen or heard of, at least.

But it’s never too late to do the right thing.

Well Said, Jakarta Globe! But Will Gramedia Repent?

Thankfully in the modern era, no one in their right mind would burn books but censorship is still widely practiced.

The editorial in the Jakarta Globe concerns a local issue, about bookstores removing books from their shelves that might, so it’s said, embarrass local political notables with “unverifiable information.”  If you’re interested please use the link.

But the point about book-burning is something that will resonate with many around the world…

Nazis in the Thirties, burning books

….who learned at school about such conflagrations in Nazi Germany.

Many will applaud the JG editor’s condemnation of such intolerant, anti-democratic activity.

But not their rivals in the Jakarta Post, methinks, whose owners, the vast Gramedia business empire, committed such a crime against reason only a few years ago, and has NEVER repented of the book-burning that shamed Jakarta.

Gramedia’s outrageous literary arson was all the more reprehensible in that it was perpetrated at the behest of arrant Islamist bigots.

We keep asking when the Jakarta Post editors will have the guts and/or decency to deplore the Gramedia book-burning.

But few others on the local scene have been prepared to swell our protests into what should be a nationwide chorus.

Perhaps now that the Jakarta Globe has, albeit obliquely, dragged book-burning into the spotlight, others may now join in and shame the culprits.

I saw that JG editorial and immediately thought about Gramedia’s Nazi tactics.
I have never used Gramedia stores or bought a Jakarta Post since those morons burned those books and it bothers me that so few people have joined in your protest.

The very least respectable that companies should do is STOP advertising in any Gramedia publication,
I admit I have left it to you, Ross, but not any more.
I am going to write to any company that advertises in the Jakarta Post and tell them what kind of company Gramedia is – Book-burners PLC.

Repenting has the meaning as to understand that your sinful act was wrong and to promise to sin no more.

I do not think the rich Gramedia men have ability to understand right and wrong. They did not care about right or wrong when they did the book arson.
They only want business to run smooth and keep making money..
Love of money is root of all evil.

German Red Nazi Antifa Echo Hitler, Target Books

We often refer to Hitler’s infamous book-burning…

…usually in the context of how Indonesia’s big publishing company, Gramedia, emulated the Nazis a couple of years ago, in overt collaboration with the bigoted Islamist ‘Scholars’ of the MUI.

But it’s back to Germany for this month’s report of intolerance of the printed word, to the Frankfurt Book Fair, in fact, where Red Nazis had a shouting match with supporters of the AfD patriot party, whose chant of “Everyone hates Antifa” sounds like easy listening indeed!

As almost always, it was the far-left who caused all the trouble – the protests were sparked by leading AfD member Bjoern Hoecke’s visit to the annual fair to attend the presentation of a book by the hard-right publishing house Antaios.

In other words, if you happen to be rightwing, a conservative, a nationalist, a ‘populist,’ these Antifa hoodlums think they have a veto on your presence wherever you may wish, quite legally, to go.

And elsewhere at the trade show, a reading by two right-wing authors had to be cancelled because it was drowned out by protesters,

So the Antifa scum detest free speech.

    Nichts neues!

    Nothing new so far!

Nor, really, is it news that the book-fair organisers issued a statement condemning “the targeted  provocations” between “left- and right-wing groupings.”

Duh… the good guys were behaving themselves, engaged in legitimate activity in a democratic society.

The red vermin only came along to shut them down but…wait for it….those fair organisers, despite their effort to assert moral equivalence between the AfD and the thug gang, have been condemned for allowing books by the who dissent from the prevailing cultural marxist ideology  – apparently that’s giving a platform to rabble-rousers.

Meanwhile, one famous New Right publisher, Antaios, had its books vandalised – some were stolen, others smeared with toothpaste and coffee in apparent protest actions.

So no books actually burned this time except maybe those stolen by reds, but vandalism is but a short step from arson.

Soon enough, Hitler’s heirs in Antifa will graduate to bonfire building.

AfD gets so much support in Eastern Germany because people there remember how bad the communists were and see the street wars now in Germany..
The Antifa communists badly want to suppress the true opposition party. The Merkel party is scared by AfD so is very happy if Antifa can do this. Merkel is still Stasi in her heart.
Antifa must be stopped if we want to prevent another dictatorship.

Typical? Jakarta Mob Orator Talks Embassy Arson!

“If they don’t get out of this place in three days, we’ll expel them ourselves. We’ll burn this embassy,” another protest leader told the crowd as he stood on top of a truck, vowing to stage further rallies.

Playing with fire? There’s something of an obsession with burning among certain elements in Jakarta.

We all read about sectarian savages demanding that former Governor Ahok be burned.

The protesters, most of whom were men dressed in white Muslim attire, were heard yelling, “We want a Muslim governor,” “Burn Ahok!” and “Kafir!”   http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2016/10/14/thousands-hard-liners-march-against-ahok.htm

    Ahok only burned in effigy!

Those blasted bigots didn’t get their way, but poor Ahok is now in jail thanks to  the country’s ‘blasphemy’ law.

And of course there’s the infamous Gramedia book-burning incident, when the Jakarta Post’s publishers emulated Adolf Hitler by building a bonfire of books that upset Islamist fanatics.

A pity the Jakarta Globe didn’t give us the name of the ranter who was heard shrilling about burning the embassy.

But at least they told us of the irresponsible threat to go lawless.

The Jakarta Post, in contrast – http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2017/09/06/-thousands-of-muslims-protest-outside-myanmar-embassy.html

    –  made no mention of it.

But given their Gramedia publisher’s enthusiasm for setting fire to harmless books, perhaps they prefer not to mention that sort of incendiary outburst.

You always take every chance to refer to the Gramedia book burning.
      Quite right.
Traffic was light last night so I think many Jakartans stayed out of the way because of the demo.
      Its an ill wind.

Why do they think the embassy must go just because they say so?
I do not especially like Myanmar but it is not for mobs in streets to say what may be in Jakarta.
Why do we have elections and a government? We see so many mobs in Jakarta but most people stay away from them.so they do not speak for most people..
Why do the police not arrest this man who talks about burning buildings?

It is late for me but I want to write about this before I sleep tonight and say it is not good for people to speak like this.
We do not want any embassy or mall or anything burning in Jakarta. We saw this hate in 1998 and never want to see like it again.
