    A Meat-Hater’s Maniacal Grin…

    Would you say that’s a maniacal grin…

….on the face of Sandrine Rousseau, the French Green MP, who has sparked national debate over claims barbecued red meat is macho | France | The Guardian

Hogwash…if it has any meaning at all…

In fact, I am not at all partial to red meat.

I like my steak, burgers, ribs etc VERY well done.

But I love meat in general..

Meat, glorious meat, which I’ve been defending since long before I posted on the subject…

    …TEN years ago!

But I see no value in bandying words with an obscure pinkolette…

..because the real enemy is the old enemy…

The United Nations intergovernmental panel on climate change….

devoted a chapter this year to its climate solutions report to stress how consumers could drastically reduce global emissions.

It also singled out shifting to a plant-based diet instead of meat as one of the most effective changes individuals could make.

The UN can be a wearisome nag, but only if we let it.

Sensible sovereign governments should ignore the nagging.

Incidentally, whilst the UN can wax repetitive on wokey themes, how about things that really matter, like the evils perpetrated by Adolf Xi.

The damning report on his red nazi regime will soon be left to gather dust on a UN shelf, NO sanctions, NO international court summons…

For the crimes of Xi are surely insignificant, compared to meat-eating, oh..and going on holiday.

‘…the biggest potential for avoidance was in reducing long-haul flights.’ https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/aug/30/french-mp-sparks-national-debate-over-claims-barbecued-red-meat-is-macho

Ribs Or Broccoli? No Contest, Climate Panickers!

Their Authoritarian Urge Is Hard To Hide!

    Image result for climate panic

    That was last year…what’s changed?

I just had a gloating email from a Brit friend who lives here in Jakarta.

She has gone home to London for a few weeks and was extolling the joys of eating proper British food, fish and chips, and Cornish pasties, and sausage rolls…

…to name but 3 of the Sceptred Isle’s culinary delights which put French and Italian cuisine to shame.

    Then I saw this.

UN report: eat less meat to combat climate crisis

Thus the headline, then the somewhat contradictory intro to last week’s EUObs story

“We don’t want to tell people what to eat,” said UN climate panelist Hans-Otto Portner.Read on »

A few days before that, the BBC was interviewing some old dame named Debra, from the UN’s IPCC gang, telling us that we had to make a choice, either ribs or broccoli, if we want to keep the temperature down.

A little later, the repulsive brat…

Greta Thunberg leads a school strike and sits outside of the Swedish Parliament in an effort to force politicians to act on climate change on August 28, 2018 in Stockholm, Sweden
     Greta Thunberg
“Every Friday, I miss classes to sit outside my country’s parliament. I will continue to do so until leaders come into line with the Paris agreement…”
    Brats Demonstrate…Their Ill-Disciplined Irresponsibility!

…surrounded by obseqious media, was on the screen, blabbering and scolding grown-ups. She shares her passion for scolding with the IPCC, and more than a few of us are sick of it.

    We’ll eat as we please.

    Ribs for me!

Bacon sandwiches, Aussie meat pies, steak ( well done, of course!) and…

    …YES! – sausage rolls…

…and all devoured along with spuds, fried, mashed, boiled, braised, or, my sole nod to Continental cooking, those yummy Lyonnaise ones, whilst sitting, or stretched out, out front, in hot sunny weather!

    How about you?

      Congratulations, Ross.
I agree with you, they are a bossy bunch, but my congratulations are for getting the spelling right for brocolli. I always mis-spell it.

I have to say I thought you were giving too much attention to the USA but this appreciation of British foods makes me very happy.
I get fed up too with the way the ‘metropolitan elites’ in Britain always insult good food like fish and chips and compare it unfavourably with French food.
German food is great and Italian, but I never see how anything can beat our own traditional favourites.
Sausage rolls, pasties, and a fine British breakfast fry-up.
      Nothing better!

So the UN knows best what we should have for dinner?
      Globalisation gone mad.
Some days I throw together whatever we have in the fridge, a salad sandwich or egg and chips. We’re not picky eaters in this house.
      All change.
Every day from now on I will make sure there’s meat at least once a day.
Even if it’s just bangers and mash!

      Broccoli? With what? Spinach? Asparagus?
Who wants to eat like a rabbit?
Meat and potatoes is our culture!
      They must respect diversity.
