Jakarta Post’s ‘Red Apology’ Clique Getting Desperate?
The Jakarta Post must be getting increasingly desperate in its dredging around for people to join the Red-Rehab-Jihad.
By that I mean the campaign for an indiscriminate ‘apology’ to all those who fell foul of anti-communist activity in the wake of the failed PKI kudeta in 1965.
—————–
- The Indonesian Communist Party had misled a lot of simple peasants into joining their front organisation, and it was mostly them that got whacked. The cowardly communist leadership managed, most of them, to scuttle off to agreeably tyrannical regimes overseas.
An angry Indonesia lashed out, catching a bunch of Reds but also detaining people falsely accused of communism as well as innocents who were unlucky to be kin to marxist malignants.
—–
- Now the JP and its collaborationist cohorts want President Jokowi to ‘apologise,’ without any distinction between the evil hypocrites of the PKI and those latter unfortunates.

Bizarrely they’ve now roped in somebody identified as a ‘Nostra Aetate Fellow’ at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, which is no doubt as totally meaningless to me as it is to you.
One might assume it’s a trainee priest, but in fact it’s a chick!
More surprisingly, it’s a chick named Lailatul Fitriyah, which is a very Islamic sort of name for a fellow of the very Catholic Pontifical Gregorian Uni! I wondered briefly how many Italian Catholics hold fellowships at universities in Medina or Mosul!
Whatever, she maintains that Islam is an inherently egalitarian faith that upholds critical thinking and attainment of justice as its core teachings.
So she presumably didn’t grow up in a family that had this kind of disgusting sexism plastered around the living-room.

‘Fathers and Husbands, their private parts are your responsibility!’
Of course I do know many Muslims who are fair–minded and most capable of ‘critical thinking.’
But Indonesia’s state-sponsored MUI (Council of ‘Scholars’) needs to snap out of its backward bigotry before she can argue her case effectively.
“If the act of adultery is by a married person, then stoning is the sentence, while if unmarried, then it’s whipping,” he said.

More importantly, this college cutie needs to remember which newspaper she’s writing for when she asserts that –
Support from Muslims to ban “leftist” books is especially sad; instead of upholding Islamic values they are emulating the destruction of the House of Wisdom in Baghdad in 1258 AD.
They are crippling one of the most important principles in Islam, the preservation and distribution of knowledge.
OK!
I’m not au fait with her historical references, but her last half dozen words are hard to disagree with!
………………….
But surely they must be anathema to the editorial clique at the Jakarta Post.
Their owners, and presumable pay-masters, the Gramedia conglomerate, is downright INFAMOUS across Indonesia for their Nazi-style book-burning, carried out in cahoots with those virulent enemies of free expression, none other than the MUI.
If Ms Lailatul Fitriyah wants to wax lyrical about people backward and bigoted enough to engage in mass destruction of books they don’t like, Gramedia is a much better and more obvious target than the poorly educated IslamoNazis she’s justifiably criticising,
Why doesn’t she get stuck into that JP clique whose editorials have yet to criticise their overseers?
What do we say about the Jakarta Post? What does Ms L have to say?
C’mon, honey, put the boot into Gramedia! But then the Jakarta Post wouldn’t publish you if you showed such consistency, would they?
PS – Oh, and before we leave her to do her home-work, a final response to another of her know-all rebukes.
If you are a Muslim and drifting through the issue of anti-communism, at least ask yourself whether you completely understand what communism is. http://www.thejakartapost.com/academia/2016/06/03/fear-is-not-islamic-reflection-ahead-of-ramadhan.html
If she’s in Rome, she should meet some clergy from East and Central Europe. Their countries have first-hand experience and thus completely understand what communism is.

- Mass-murder, concentration camps, show-trials, rigged elections, an unfree press – a myriad of evils…

….and still on display par excellence in the one Communist country hailed by the PKI’s unlamented D N Aidit as the one he’d have most liked to model Indonesia upon.
