Jakarta Hate-Gang Fan – Security Forces’ Guest Preacher!

Like it or not, Indonesia’s security  – and the greatest threat to that security is Islamist fanaticism – depends on the Armed Forces (TNI) and Police (Polri).

    • Indonesian_National_Police_General's_Visor_Hat

    • So what in God’s Name are we  to make of the news that, at a great gathering of these security services and their kin, one of the main men on the platform party was the notorious fanatic cleric Arifin Ilham.

    • For overseas readers, we have featured this specimen in previous posts, way back  in 2012, for his bare-faced endorsement of the IslamoNazi Front Pembela Islam,  the self-styled ‘Defenders of Islam Front.’

Please note the FPI have a penchant for violence, not just in its parade-posters…

    fpi kill busddhist

…but in its depredations against peaceful communities.

IslamoNazis V Freedom-Fighters? – Some Chicken, Some Neck!

    And in everyday street thuggery!

Arrahmah.com reported that Muhammad Arifin Ilham reiterated his support for the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), by writing a statement on his Facebook account page on this day, Thursday (16/02/2012) which contains a statement of support for FPI and criticism of corrupt officials who support the secular media and disobedience and spread slander that the FPI are anarchistic…Coming Soon – Halal TV!?!

     arifin & habib

Top FPI fanatic Habib Rizieq with Arifin

    Metro TV’s Hate-Group Fan!

As most of you readers will know by now, Governor Ahok of Jakarta is facing prosecution under ‘blasphemy’ legislation, known here for its deployment against people who think for themselves about religion, and also used to suppress the religious liberty of minority groups.

And of course it’s the police who decide on the prosecution process against Ahok.

So why invite that ‘cleric’ to the joint army-police mass meeting – a self-confessed fan of the IslamoNazi hate gang?!!

There are plenty of others, respectable Islamic figures (who also, BTW, get assailed by Islamist louts – Jakarta Mosque Mayhem – IslamoNazi Louts Silence Moderate ) to choose from.

Arifin helpfully told the assembled crowd that by hidayah – that’s ‘divine guidance…‘ the channel for which, he seems to think, is this current ‘blasphemy’ witch-hunt, “Ahok could understand the power of Islam, namely that the faith of Islam and Islamic teachings are beautiful.”   http://www.beritasatu.com/megapolitan/399866-ustaz-arifin-ilham-doakan-ahok-dalam-istigasah-di-monas.html

Not according to Arifin’s big buddy Habib Rizieq, of the FPI, who spat out the ugliest, bloodiest intolerance imaginable, last month, when he called for Ahok to be SLAIN!

“We encourage the government to process the death penalty for Ahok as soon as possible,” said Rizieq.  http://www.suara.com/news/2016/10/14/134313/rizieq-shihab-ucapkan-kata-kata-hukuman-mati-untuk-ahok

Nothing beautiful about having a man put to death for something he’s said.

Decent Muslims surely should be loudly denouncing such poisonous nonsense? People like Rizieq are the reason that ‘Islamophobia’ exists.

So why didn’t Arifin focus his sermon to those attentive cops on the evil bigotry that calls for a man to be murdered for mere words?

The head of the armed forces, General Gatot Nurmantyo, was apparently among the 20,000 people listening to the cleric’s rapturous rant, only yesterday.

The gathering , its designated purpose being to pray for the common safety of the people of Indonesia, took place at Monas, the vast park around the National Monument.

It was near there, on 4th November, that some twenty police officers were injured when Islamist thugs ran amok at the denouement of the anti-Ahok aksi damai – ‘peaceful action!’

I didnt get to join the demo today, Ross, looks like they changed the venue at the last minute, so I think they will have been short of the numbers they expected.
I still dont see why the police were telling them to go here and there when the same police let the bad guys march along as they pleased.
But now Ive read this, I am beginning to see whats going on.
      More sad news for Indonesia.

So Will Bigot Ba’asyir Be Unleashed, Since God’s On His Side?

So that nasty old bigot Abu Bakr Ba’asyir had Habib Rizieq, former Fuhrer of the IslamoNazi FPI (self-styled ‘Defenders of Islam’) testifying on his behalf during a review of his conviction for involvement in terrorist activity.

    • habib_rizieq_temui_hasyim_muzadi Rizieq
    • ——————————
    • Hundreds of FPI louts crowded around the scene of the hearing.

“Free Bashir, he is not a terrorist!” one cried.

Ba’asyir told the judges that based on Islamic rules, he was not guilty because he just carried out God’s orders.  http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2016/02/09/abu-bakar-ba-asyir-asks-court-be-fair-judging-his-guilt.html

Time therefore to remind anyone who may have forgotten how vicious and intolerant the old beast is, captured on video, inciting violence against Australian tourists has been made public…

In the video, Bashir urges those in the village to beat up tourists that disrespect Islamic ways, saying, “If there are infidels here, then beat them up. Do not tolerate them.”

Later in the sermon, he likens non-Muslims to crawling “worms, snakes, maggots.” He also says infidels ruin moral values by exposing their skin at the beach.

Then he hammered home his hate-theme in words that expose his total rejection of the very concept of the Republic of Indonesia.

“Take a look at Bali”, he said.

    • bali_offering
    • —————-
    • Bali is overwhelmingly Hindu.

NOT Islamic at all, so to demand that Islamic values be imposed on a Hindu island amounts to a sectarian assault NOT just on Aussie tourists but on almost the entire population of a non-Muslim province.

There’s a wider context that needs to be taken into account. Ba’asyir is hardly alone in his disrespect for Hindu culture and customs.

Bali Hindu King – Don’t Kill Our Cows! Muslim ‘Scholars’ – Get Lost!!

.That wasn’t Ba’asyir, nor the FPI’s Rizieq, but the state-sponsored MUI, the so-called ‘scholars’ of the MUI.

Dr. Shri I Gusti Ngurah Arya Wedakarna MWS III, President of  the Hindu Center Of Indonesia and also Majapahit King of Bali, was seeking to open some closed bigot minds to a key tenet of the Hindu creed.

    Bali’s King

“In respect of Eid 2012, I urge Muslims to avoid cow slaughter as a sacrifice. Maybe cows could be replaced with other animals. This is important, because in Bali, the cow is a sacred animal, and is also believed to be the vehicle of Lord Shiva. And the majority of Balinese people are adherents of Shivaism,” he said.

Muslims sacrifice animals at Idul Fitri, and most of them, for economic reasons, sacrifice goats. Here in Jakarta, cows too get the chop, but there’s absolutely no religious requirement to do so.

    •  ———————

    • Anyone with even the tiniest knowledge of Hinduism, or even the tiniest respect for the multi-faith basis on which Indonesia was founded and is enshrined in its constitution, would have respected the king’s appeal.

But ‘anyone’ in this context clearly did not include the MUI.

The attitude of the Majapahit King of Bali to banning cow slaughter is damaging to tolerance in Indonesia, according to the Deputy Secretary General of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), Dr Amirsyah Tambunan. The Bali King has no appreciation of what Indonesia’s about..

    ‘Scholar’ Amirsyah

Amirsyah said that free speech is a cherished thing in Indonesia. However, in the case of sacrifices, the King must respect the religious rights of Muslims.

“In Islamic belief, slaughtering cows, goats and sheep is legal, whichever they can afford,” he said…“Other religions also have to respect Muslims (who believe cows are kosher )” he explained.   http://www.hidayatullah.com/read/25607/25/10/2012/mui:-sikap-raja-bali-melarang-qurban-sapi-menodai-toleransi-.html

Yes, killing cows is legal, but NOT  obligatory. In other words, they can disrespect the Hindu faith, but Hindus had better kow-tow to theirs.

If these bigots merely made such crass intolerant declarations, okay, most people would simply dismiss their outbursts as benighted arrogance and ignore them. However, as I say, the MUI is sponsored, funded, by the Indonesian Government. And their intolerance is enforced by that government’s security forces.

Cops – “Islamist ‘Scholars’ Can Veto Religious Liberty” \

‘Adam Created By Angel?” Islamist ‘Scholars’Call the Cops

The idea of debating matters of faith and religious observance – which most sane people would regard as a hall-mark of any civilised society – is alien to Islamist fanatics.

Maybe they’re incapable of theological argument.

Or maybe they just feel the rest of us have no right to challenge their sectarian diktats, a mind-set perfectly exemplified by Amidhan, MUI’s top man, a couple of years ago…

    Amidhan-MUI-2011 Amidhan

…when he told people who felt non-Muslims should not have to comply with Islamist demands at Ramadhan..

“If the act of adultery is by a married person, then stoning is the sentence, while if unmarried, then it’s whipping,” he said.

Jakarta Islamist ‘Scholars’ – Adultery, Co-Habiting? Stoning and Whipping!

So don’t for a moment think that Ba’asyir’s thinking is unusually freakish, not here, not these days.

Cikeusik Anniversary Looms, D-Day for Indonesian Innocents!

Indonesia faces a real danger – not so much creeping but galluping shariah.   Creeping Shariah,’ Warns Prof. Muhammed, As Jakarta Dims!

What’s happened this month in Bangka illustrates this process all too horribly, and I’m glad so many decent Indonesians, including many honourable Muslims, agree.

It is shocking that government officials always give in to the demands of hardline groups. There is a paradox in the way the government works so hard to eradicate terrorism, but gives free reign to those groups opposing pluralism and diversity.  http://en.tempo.co/read/news/2016/02/10/314743742/Depriving-Ahmadiyah-of-Their-Rights

Tolikara, Papua / Cisalada, West Java – Burning Houses of Worship is BAD!

I’m still contemplating the 33 scholars who are members of the presidium of the Alliance of Indonesian Ulema (AAUI) and their wordy and worrying ‘statement’ on the mosque-burning in Tolikara, Papua – a mosque-burning, which the Government of Indonesia now says was not a sectarian assault at all but an accidental side-effect of street mayhem.   http://thejakartaglobe.beritasatu.com/news/officials-react-papua-mosque-burning-labeled-accident/

The more you read it ( here, on the Republika.com link…

…the more it sounds like an ultimatum…

But whilst thus contemplating, my memory conjured up an image of the vile savages in West Java nearly five years ago, who, consumed by sectarian hatred, attacked their neighbours and burned their mosque. .https://rossrightangle.wordpress.com/2012/07/14/west-java-islamists-again-attack-ahmadis-blame-foreign-journos/

Ahmadi mosque, burned by savages at Cisalada, West Java

I still have the pictures on file, and there they are, the mosque ablaze (along with many innocent people’s homes) …

Ahmadiyah burned Koran in Cisalada Ahmadi Koran, destroyed by savages at  Cisalada, West Java

….and even a Koran burned too, which, if that small example of arson had been carried out by an obscure American pastor, would no doubt have been used as an excuse by various packs of savages to go on the rampage in dozens of cities in dozens of lands, lives and property destroyed vengefully, just to show how righteous the savages could be.

But then it was five years ago, so maybe I’ve forgotten.

However, I am absolutely CERTAIN that those state-funded fanatic ‘scholars’ at the MUI did not erupt back then with any outburst like the one we heard this weekend –

Those Who Burned The Tolikara Mosque Don’t Deserve To Live in Indonesia

    . MUI’s Anwar Abbas

I have never heard anything like that from the MUI when foul fanatics have interpreted their intolerant fatwa against the Ahmadis as a green light to commit cruelties on the innocents.

Of course arson is a crime, and the guilty must be brought to book. But burning a Sunni mosque in Papua is not one whit different from burning an Ahmadi mosque in West Java – in the eyes of sane people.

    Mind you…

Wouldn’t it be interesting if MUI’s Anwar Abbas’ suggested response – expulsion – was taken up and acted on by the MUI’s source of subsidy, the Government of Indonesia –  but in an even-handed way.

There’d be a round-up of not only Papuans but also, better late than never, of those swinish savages in Cisalada, and those who incited them, to be sent packing, to some dump like Pakistan or Saudi, where their rabid intolerance would fit right in!

    ahmadiyah3 Cikeusik pogrom, 2011

And if arsonists are unfit to live in Indonesia, what about murderers? Will Abbas and the other ‘scholars’ demand the deportation of that murderous mob who beat the three Ahmadi martyrs to death in Cikeusik?

Jakarta ‘Scholars’ Talk of Tolerance – Who’s Their Honoured Colleague?

As a blogger who tries his best to defend Indonesia against present or possible criticism, by pointing out that sectarian nastiness, as exemplified by the FPI, the FUI and Hizbut Tahrir, in no way reflects the thinking of many decent Muslims here, I have to say my task is not always helped by the spokesmen of Islamic organisations which purport to be ‘moderate’ or ‘mainstream.’

    • fpi kill busddhist
    • ——————————————
    • These terms are of course relative. Compared to the FPI, for example, the MUI ( not to be confused with the FUI) seems ‘moderate.’ Their self-styled ‘scholars’ do not go about revelling in thuggery and vandalism – though some of them are a bit slack about disowning it, and at least one of their senior members is a blood-thirsty bigot, but he’s the king-pin of the FUI.
    •    Lively Hustings Likely in West/North Jakarta!
    • ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Today, flicking through the local news, once more this problem crops up, in respect of the news from Tolkara, in Papua, where a mosque was set on fire last week.

I’ll look at the arson shortly, but first what about the total of 33 scholars who are members of the presidium of the Alliance of Indonesian Ulema (AAUI) who have issued a statement – which actually sounds more like an ultimatum – on the arson.

These gents are given much prominence in Republika.com, which is not surprising, given that newspaper’s Islamic leanings. But who do they represent?

    Nu Nahdlotul Ulama

Well, there are two representatives fom the NU, invariably characterised by all media as ‘Indonesia’s largest moderate Muslim group,’ and one from Muhammadiyah, equally invariably described as the ‘second-largest moderate Muslim group.’

But if you use our link and look at the photo of the platform party, who’s up there with them, speaking up against intolerance?

    muchsin alatas fpi

From the left, Habib Muhsin Alatas,  Sekretaris Majelis Syura of the FPI….    http://www.republika.co.id/berita/nasional/hukum/15/07/18/nrn8xi-ini-8-sikap-aliansi-alim-ulama-indonesia-soal-pembakaran-masjid

Yeah, the FPI, the Islam Defenders Front, a paragon of pluralism, ever-ready to promote peace and goodwill, a champion of tolerance par excellence…like HELL!

Check out just a handful of our coverage.

Jakarta Ethnic Cleansing? Murder Threat No Big Deal?

‘Bunuh, bunuh, bunuh,’ – ‘kill, kill, kill!’ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7RLCXNdKF4

–And the worst, arguably, of Muchsin’s comrades, still holding high FPI office, has to be Sobri Lubis, the savage who urged a mindless mob to go forth and murder members of the peaceful Ahmadi minority.

So what possesses high-rankers of the NU and Muhammadiyah to sit down with the likes of a leader of an IslamoNazi thug gang?.

By doing so they make an instant mockery of whatever decent cause may be concerned. They also, of course, tarnish the reputation of their own outfits. And if they somehow seriously regard themselves as ‘scholars,’ and treat a gang-leader as a ‘scholar,’ what does that tell us about their own ‘scholastic’ qualifications?

The proper thing to do, if you are up on a platform for something you believe is a worthy issue, and you find somebody unworthy is on that platform too, is either to find an alternative venue free from that taint, or to simply throw the blighter off.

    They did neither.

I’ll get back to the ultimatum later tonight.

Islamist ‘Scholar’ Condemns Massacre, Savours Intolerant Laws

Mixed feelings here at RRA after reading the take on Charlie Hedbo by Baijuri, the Chairman of the Fatwa Commission of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) in Lebak District.

    fatwa mui sholeh

“If the case occurred in Indonesia, then certainly the culprit could be prosecuted.”

Well, people who carry out sectarian atrocities do get prosecuted here. However, the penalties for bloody mayhem are pretty piffling.

Six months each for the swine who perpetrated the Cikeusik Pogrom – and six months for the sole survivor of the slaughter.

    But wait!

Baijuri is talking NOT about the Paris massacre of innocents but about the magazine’s depiction of Mohammed!

The ‘scholar’ does urge his flock not to be provoked.

And he condemned the perpetrators of the shooting in Paris.

And, perhaps most encouragingly, he notes the contrasting – dignified protests, at most, certainly not murderous savagery – responses by Christians to Charlie’s mockery of Jesus and other Christian figures.

I just had a quick glance through what the mag did to Jesus with its cartoonery, and it’s fairly unpleasant. But only mediaeval morons would use violence in retaliation.

    • Yet he also seems to be vexed at the fact the new issue has a print order of 3,000,000 instead of the usual 60,000.

I think publishing in excess of normal circulation could  certainly cause emotional reactions among the world’s Muslims. In fact it would be seized on by radical groups with violent acts that could worsen the situation.

But that – emotional reaction – is the problem. It’s not just ‘radical groups’ that express slobbering blood-lust. This photo shows a mob of savages – in London! – demanding death for ‘blasphemers.’

    • london-muslim-protest-6

    • And it’s nothing new – years ago there were similar massive ranting rabbles on UK streets, out for Salman Rushdie’s blood. Incitement to murder is a serious criminal offence.
    • out with them

    • The anti-democratic rabble should all have been rounded up for prosecution and/or deportation. There’d be less trouble today had that been done.

There’s no excuse for grown-ups indulging in tantrums -civilised people channel emotional reactions into civilised responses- like going out and buying those millions of extra Charlie Hebdos, exercising a right they cherish, to talk, write, yes, and satirise anything, any way they please.

I pause here to listen to the news, about that blogger in Saudi, getting the first of his thousand lashes, for insulting the state religion. It seems thousands have gone online to criticise this sectarian inhumnity -but thousands also approved it. Savages galore!

paris8 Millions of Western citizens support freedom

And demonstrating – without disgusting placards exhorting slaughter of innocents.

There’s no excuse for having a ‘blasphemy law,’ suppressing basic rights, on any country’s statute book. not in the 21st century. They are wrong in principle and also serve to justify evil deeds committed by the likes of the jihadists in Paris.

As for Baijuri, he must be aware that Indonesia’s law, to which he referred, has been used to imprison people simply for dissenting form his own clique’s interpretation of dogma, and simply for practicing their faith. That Shia cleric in East Java, for a start.

Whilst he may rightly tell his flock not to portray their Prophet – although apparently there are many depictions of that Prophet recorded in Islamic history – neither he nor his organisation nor any other Islamic religious or political outfit has ANY right to tell NON-Muslims not to do so.

If there are people who choose to be offended by such depictions, tough. Just grow up!

I’m not notably religious, but I found the pictures of Jesus in Charlie Hebdo a tad distasteful, and the notorious ‘Piss Christ’ – promoted energetically by the hypocrites of AP, despite their suppression of Hebdo work that might be deemed ‘provocative’ –  http://www.patheos.com/blogs/blackwhiteandgray/2015/01/charlie-hebdos-cartoons-piss-christ-and-the-associated-press/

     – is a gross affront to Christians.

    But nobody gets murdered.

Because in a free society, everyone respects the right to free expression, excluding the right to urge homicide or treason, but INCLUDING mockery – that’s what satire is all about.

Baijuri should embrace democratic values, and seek to make them part of MUI policy.

    Outlaw blasphemy laws.
