Blasphemy Banned In Eire? Shamnesty Wants It Back!

    I do like spiked.com.

The contributors are mostly liberal or left by most people’s definition, but they have a clarity of intellect which is rarely found in rags like the Guardian…

    .

    .

….and there’s a lack of the intolerance which left-liberals habitually exhibit. A spiked lefty woman’s take on the recent outrageous episodes in America, for example, exonerates The Donald from blame, even though she plainly dislikes him and his policies.

    Spiked.com is also educational.

I learned a lot this month from an article about Eire, a country I have little time for, due to its aggressively expansionist aspirations against the British people of Ulster.

    .

    .

The article vexes me a little, because it insists on calling Eire ‘Ireland,’ which is an all too common error. Ireland is of course a geographical expression, an island, not a nation. It is sheer cheek for the Dublin government to use the word.

But I have covered that ground before…

GAA = IRA? Yes, But A Broken Britain Won’t Mean An Expanded Eire!

…so let’s move on to what I learned, about Eire’s 2009 defamation law, which incorporated a definition of ‘blasphemy’ viz. ‘…grossly abusive or insulting in relation to matters held sacred by any religion, thereby causing outrage among a substantial number of the adherents of that religion.’

Absurd to include such censorious nonsense in the laws of a modern European country, but what shocked me was not that legislation but that Saudi Arabia and Pakistan both congratulated Ireland…”

    ..

You’d think when two such Dark Age dens made their delight known, any self-respecting democracy would instantly have u-turned and repealed the retrograde rubbish.

    That didn’t happen.

But get this, what did happen!

    …..

After the Islamist atrocity at the Charlie Hebdo office in Paris, six years later, certain ‘Islamic leaders’ in Eire showed exactly what sort of intolerant aliens they were, by invoking that very law, to threaten prosecution of any media that reprinted the cartoons.

The craven Eire media quailed before these arrogant sectarians, but plenty of other media in other lands did the same. I won’t single Eire’s out for condemnation at this late date.

But what is absolutely appalling, as the spiked.com writers says, is that ‘one Islamic cleric in one mosque in Dublin was able to make an editorial decision for all Irish media.’.

    ….

After another few years have passed, no such insolent attempts at censoring those media can now be made, for now that ridiculous blasphemy ban is gone.

Good riddance, and good riddance too if any uppity ‘clerics’ decide to leave for pastures more amenable to sectarian censorship!

But hold on just a cotton-pickin’ minute!

Eire too has its Enemy Within, people who want reintroduce a new blasphemy ban, under the guise of ‘hate-speech’ prohibition!

The author of the article is forthright, and identies the jackbooters – ‘Amnesty Ireland and the Irish Council for Civil Liberties.’

There have long been laws in most countries, at least in the Western world, more than sufficient to detain and prosecute anyone who incites violence, arson or similar crimes. Nobody disagrees with those.

But bans on ‘hate-speech’ are incompatible with freedom of expression.

We all have some individuals and organisations we detest. We must be free to say so.

    =

    adams murders

    Think Gerry Adams.

    Think the ayatollahs in Iran.

    ayatollah_ruhollah_khomeini-425px-004

Evil people deserve to be hated.

Ideologies too exist which merit our hatred.

    Communism, obviously.

    communism tyranny

And the ideology of Hizbut Tahrir which puts sectarian supranationalism above loyalty to Queen and Country, and supports sexist injustice to women.

    =

    hizbutisrael

‘Erase Israel from the World Map!’

    ===

Who doesn’t hate such poisonous thinking?

On another level, ‘hate-speech’ laws are used against those who express a healthy distaste for sexual perversion.

And most recently the degenerates on the ‘European Court of Human Rights’ in Strasbourg, which upheld that Austrian lady’s conviction for ‘insulting religion.’

    https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2018/10/europe-rules-against-free-speech/574369/

Those un-elected  ‘judges’ are a menace to freedom in every country which are subject to their intolerant diktats.

Why on earth should people NOT be free to insult ANY religion?

As the spiked.com writer concludes, after noting the repeal of Eire’s ‘blasphemy’ ban, the oppressive and censorious demands of Shamnesty and its ilk would immediately make our vote entirely moot, seeing as hate speech and blasphemy are now essentially distinctions without a difference in Europe.

This is all good and that European Court ruling was very bad but what about the latest blasphemy rubbish here?
Ross, you cant have missed it and a year or two ago you would have been all over it.
I know the way they sent Ahok to prison was the most depressing thing that has happened here for years but I hate to think you have washed your hands of what is happening to Indonesia.

Well said, and no matter where we live, we should all be working to get rid of blasphemy laws and ‘hate speech’ laws everywhere.
The former are medieval relics and the latter are weapons manufactured by the ruling elite to suppress dissent.

That Amnesy-Shamnesty need to be stopped from calling themselves a charity. They are shamelessly political.
Orban in Hungary has the best idea, make those ‘ngo’ gangs declare themselves enemy agents, working for and often paid by the EU.

Khashoggi Controversy – Learning By Reading!

Like most people, I have been aghast at the reports of murder and dismemberment coming out of Turkey…

    =

    ===============

…but then I started to read more about Khashoggi.

As the media gets noisier and noisier about the various and possibly horrific fates of one of its own…

Trump Jr. retweets unsubstantiated claim on missing Saudi journalist   https://edition.cnn.com/2018/10/13/politics/donald-trump-jr-jamal-khashoggi/index.html

…and since CNN shrinks from calling the above-mentioned report ‘false’ – substituting the ‘weasel word ‘unsubstantiated’ to describe something so substantial it can be photographed –  I have been begun absorbing some facts which CNN etc. overlook.

I recommend readers do the same.

      Nice one, Ross.

I watch the news every night and have seen nothing about Khashoggi being involved with jihadists.
I have now read that report in Front Page Magazine and I see there are others too.
If I get time today I will read them too.
The mainstream media are going to town on this case but have drawn a curtain over this side of Khashoggi’s character.
That deceit alone is enough to make me wonder what else they’re hiding.
      Thank you.

Media hysteria like that we have seen for a week now had to be a distraction from the truth that they had accepted a notorious Muslim Brotherhood jihadist into their inner circle, prominent in the Washington Post.

    • Mort 8:44 pm on October 16, 2018 Permalink | Reply

This may not have gotten into the media outside the USA but the real nature of Khashoggi’s Muslim Brotherhood and jihadist links has broken through the American ‘mainstream embargo’ on uncomfortable truths in the USA.
It says a lot about the Washington Post that they were using a known extremist.
Now that the cat’s gotten out of the bag, CNN and the rest will struggle to reimpose the black-out.
The liberal ‘vow of silence’ on this will not hold for long and that will be due to their rage at being exposed. They will tear at Trump Jnr. in particular for picking up on it because they can’t help themselves.
      They slaver for Trump blood.

Insufficient Eyes To Watch Enemy Within? Intern The Swine!

Just listening to France24 news, telling us that Macron’s government hasn’t enough man-power to monitor the 25,000 Islamist disloyals…

    =

    =

…and that’s only the ones they know about!

There must be a lot more who thrill to the benighted hatred of democracy spat out by the notorious fanatics known as Salafists …

Moroccan-born Lakdim was known to authorities for petty crimes, but had been under surveillance by security services in 2016-2017 for links to the radical Salafist movement..

Islamist gunman attacks French supermarket, kills three

…so 25,000 represents the tip of an evil ice-berg.

One obvious step to take – and it would be welcome not just in France but also in Britain, Australia and Canada, to name but three of the many Western countries where sectarian evil prowls- would be to do what the UK did in WW1 and WW2.

    =

    Gambar terkait

    Intern all 25,000 of them!

The term ‘Enemy Aliens,’ as defined by the UK Government back then, does of course need to be brought up to date, to include ‘French’ individuals who spread the hateful doctrine that puts solidarity with foreign persons or regimes…

    =

    =

…that share their ideology above allegiance to France, or, in the British case, loyalty to Queen and Country.

Both the UK and France have a number of more or less uninhabited islands which could be used to accommodate the undesirables.

    =

    No Man's Land

One of Britain’s offshore and uninhabited islands
    .

Pity about the seagulls, but pending Frexit, the obvious alternative, and an even more effective way of cutting down the need for monitor-man-power…

    =

    =

…the restoration of Madame Guillotine to her honoured place in the French justice system is interdicted by both the EuroCommissars in Brussel and the robed clowns in Strasbourg!

There are many Salafist in Germany. But Merkel will not intern or deport them.
      They freely spread the poison.

Canada should do that to the CAIR-Canada crowd and also vet all those Syrians coming in, for signs of jihad infection.
Islamists are our enemies. They cannot be obedient to sharia and still be true to our country.

Where is that island in your photo?
It looks the perfect place to put a thousand or more Salafists!
But don’t forget there’s Rockall, just begging for jihadist inmates.

I hope you have seen the French news that the main opposition party has said what you said in this, that the listed Islamist traitors should all be taken for detention.
The Macron government is on defensive.
Marine too has spoken for the emergency to be continued.
This is all a good portent that France may be awakening and one day soon we may guillotine jihadists.

      • ross1948 3:43 pm on March 28, 2018 Permalink | Reply

I don’t often reply to comments, happy to let people speak for themselves,as you do very effectively, Jeanne.

However, I too have just been watching the news, on France24 (unfortunately) and was nauseated by their bias.

They showed the various leaders making their points, then all at once brought on their left-liberal slug Robert Parsons to make totally one-sided attacks on the government’s critics, defending Macron’s failure to intensify the war on terror and calling the opposition ‘facile’ for urging renewal of the state of emergency.

If they want to imbalance their reports, at least get one of Macron’s ministers to achieve their imbalance. Parsons is nothing more than a paid hack ( paid from French taxes just as, when he -surprise-surprise! -worked for the equally based BBC he was leeching off the UK public purse. )
He should not be giving party political broadcasts on behalf of Le Muppet Macron’s regime.

I would wait till tonight to write this as a new post but am so disgusted I am using the reply facility to let you and other (especially French) readers what France24 is up to.
        Or down to!

        • Henri 4:23 pm on March 28, 2018 Permalink

          France24?
That channel is better to be known as Anti-France24, always makes me shout one thing, you all know our French word “Merde!”

If you are watching French news today you will be hearing of the other memorial event, for the old Jewish lady.
She survived the German Nazis but now is victim to the Jihad Nazis.
I think the French opposition is smart to be for detention of all the Islamists but it is much smarter if we kill them like the Resistance killed German Nazis.
I think England also needs a resistancet.
