JAKARTA MARATHON 2016 | Festival City Marathon

Jakarta Marathon 2016 – Register Now!

I did my share of marathon running, Belfast (twice) London, New York and Helsinki, and loved every minute of it.

But maybe not here.

Most of the day it’s way too hot to run, at least more than a few yards to catch a kopaja.

So these runs start in the very early hours, which are not for me, never have been.

But I’d like to watch the Jakarta Marathon, and cheer on the participants.

Jakarta Marathon, 25th October

Having spent much of last week in Sydney, with its many undulating roads, up and down hills that make serious demands on walkers, much less runners, I nevertheless enjoyed the exercise, though it’d never match the same regimen experienced in my days training as a marathon man.

And as I head back towards Jakarta, I note yet another reason why such mighty runs are just not on there, as far as I’m concerned.

Sunday 25th October, ya, no problem, mister!

But it’s scheduled to start at 4:30am!
