My Kittens Matter More Than Trivia-Obsessed BBC!

I am currently distracted by the joy of having those five kittens in my yard….

    =

    =

…where Mama Tini is looking after them very well, my only duty being to buy fish from the local tukang sayur – which means veggie vendor but there are fish, eggs and other non-veg items available!

So my regular attentions to BBC bias are somewhat fewer than usual…

    =

    =

…which is probably no bad thing for my emotional equilibrium!

However, I couldn’t help but note perhaps the most idiotic headline yet seen on their website earlier, viz.

Emily In Paris writer ‘rages’ at I May Destroy You’s Golden Globes snub

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/entertainment-arts-55934634

    What does that garbage mean?

Like, who the Hell is ‘Emily’ and what’s she up to in Paris? Is she cute…

    /

    /

…or more of a typical BBC newscaster?

Is ‘I May Destroy You’ a threat to non-marxist viewers?

Investigation reveals they are TV dramas, or is it TV movies?

We need to remember that in La-La Land, box office receipts are not that big a deal. Films, surely ought to get prizes based on how many people buy cinema tickets, but not in Hollywood these days, where democracy doesn’t count…

    =

    .

…not in comparison with the judgement of opinionated hacks!

The Golden Globes are voted for by 90 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association , all international journalists based in California.

    =

Image result for golden globes bias

    =

    Pinko hacks, at that!

    See this – https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2021/02/03/brendan-gleeson-jeff-daniels-get-golden-globe-nods-for-roles-in-anti-trump-showtimes-series-the-comey-rule/

Apparently the bizarre headline refers to some uptight chick incredibly vexed about how some production fared at the hands of the celeb-exalters, although…

Movies about women did well in 2021 Golden Globe nominations, but BIPOC mostly absent from Best Picture races https://www.goldderby.com/article/2021/golden-globes-diversity-women/

…their ‘diversity’ stuff I think we have not so far deigned to notice, though maybe we should!

At least today I learned of a new word from the woke-weasel vocabulary!

    BIPOC!

It apparently refers to black, Indigenous and people of color

I have always liked films about women, back in The Old Country and here in Indonesia, where I suppose my fave stars are ‘people of colour’ though I never even think about colour when I admire actresses like Depe…

    /

    Depe – Dewi Persik

    ==

    …and Syarini…

    ===

    ….and Julia Perez

    Jupe

    …the late and much-missed Jupe.

    =

Oh, and let’s not forget our heroine, Nikita Marzani…

…whom I have been writing a lot about recently.

    000000000000000000000000000000

THAT kind of diversity I can cope with!

Anyway, I glanced quickly through the Beeb-Burbling, and it turns out the sad bint’s rejection-sensitivities have been assuaged by a gesture of approval on the part of a once-respected, but now deplorable body, namely the Screen Actors’ Guild…

Screen Actors Guild – The Talking Brain-Dead?

…who also seem to think that what movies they like should matter to anyone else.

    WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH!

I like movies about women too, and here in Indonesia we are blessed with beautiful stars. When they do get involved in 'politics' they are not all as courageous as Nikita but few if any are as bad as The American embarassments we read about, like Fonda for instance.
That Screen Actors Guild has become a leftwing pressure group.
I saw in the news that they were about to expel Trump but he beat them to it and quit.

    RIP Jupe!

Very sorry to read of the death this past weekend, at only 36, of Julia Perez, aka Jupe.

    =

    =

She was a beautiful young woman and, had not cancer  cut her life short, would undoubtedly have had a long career ahead of her.

    Rest In Peace, Jupe!

So sad to see Jupe dead so young.
I know you were big fan so you will be sad for her also.
We must live life full because we do never know how long we have to live.

You really liked Jupe, Ross, and you blogged a lot about her. I just noticed in your ‘Top Posts’ on the right there, a couple of of your old reports about her being looked at a lot.
She will not be forgotten but its always a shame to have to write RIPs for young people.

Islamist ‘Scholar’ – Red/Jew Plot Behind Jakarta Demo?

    Oh Wow!

I’d forgotten all about Pak Rafani Achyar, West Java chief of the MUI, the Indonesian Ulema Council – that’s the Council of Indonesian ‘Scholars.’

    —————————

    • fatwa mui sholeh
    • —————-
    • He’s saying his members shouldn’t join the fanatic parade in Jakarta this Friday, at least not if they’re wearing MUI paraphernalia.

Half-Million Fanatics Descending On Jakarta? Peacefully!?!

    Good, I hear you say?

Well, it might be, if we weren’t aware of his loathing for religious tolerance, exemplified by comments he made a while back about the inoffensive Ahmadi minority, citing the case of the Ahmadiyah, who are not dealt with even when their offense is very real and clear.

Rafani Rants Again – Islamist Witch-Hunts in West Java

    ===================

    • Rafani MUI’s Rafani

But we’ve not heard much about him since his famous rage against a VERY sexy woman – whom I wrongly identified as Miss World, when in fact she was Miss Universe!

In fact he expanded his rant then to encompass a whole lot of very sexy women!

    ——–

    Not Sharia-Compliant?

    ooooooooooooooooooooo

‘Ban Miss World!’ say Kill-Joy Clerics. Why? ‘She Ain’t Sharia Compliant!’

Besides Inul, Dewi and Jupe, MUI West Java branch secretary general Rafani Achyar said he wanted to ban Anisa Bahar, Uut Permatasari, Ira Swara, Nita Thalia and the group Trio Macan. Trio Macan

Trio Macan, yummy dangdut singers, like the others named above

Is this guy going to republish ‘The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion?’

I am really intrigued by the goings-on in the place you live.
I did spend some time in South East Asia but must of led a sheltered life or where I was just didn’t have all the nutty characters you write about.
SInce reading this an hour ago, I have been trying to find any other English language coverage of Mr. Ranfani’s stunning Zionist-Bolshevik conspiracy theory but so far not been able to.
However, I looked at the link and used Google Translate to see what it said so I know you’re not making it up. Are ALL these ‘scholars’ as downright peculiar as him?
Please keep this stuff coming. It’s an eye-opener.

International Women’s Day, March 8th – Indonesia Beruntung!

LUCKY INDONESIA!                          roro 2015 8694f-roro_fitria_gress-02b9246-rorofitria2  Roro Fitria

    ————

If we are to take seriously our observation of International Women’s Day tomorrow, it’s useful to remind ourselves why Indonesia is especially lucky in that respect, so many magnificent women here to impress us on a daily basis, wherever we go in Jakarta.

    • Duo Anggrek (saw them on tv last night -stunning!)
    • ——————
    • I’d like to include a photo of little Lia, who works in a nearby branch of Indomaret, gorgeous and friendly each time she hands me my supply of Bohem from the cigarette counter.
    • But I won’t – she’d just blush and get teased by her colleagues in the minimart.
    • —————————

    • Or the many other beautiful blossoms who flourish in this sprawling city.
    • On the buses across town, re-stocking the shelves in Carrefour, smiling among the shirts on sale in Matahari, or manning (?) the small shops in Blok M Square, Permata Hijau, and every other mall in the capital.

But no need to embarrass them. Their more famous celebrity sisters can be their ambassadors today, photos I have used before and take pleasure from re-featuring this otherwise run-of-the-mill morning.

And just to show I’m not Islamophobic!

veiled-women There are a few, very few, of these in Jakarta!

     ============

Of course I could include a lot of stern-faced girls in politics, the arts and science… – but there are media galore who’ll be doing that.

Best just to relax and enjoy RRA’s selection here.

    PS

Search and upload International Women's Day events

And if those events do not appeal to you, I have been told that, on Tuesdays, there are Ladies’ Nights in the Mo Bar, at the Mandarin Oriental, and at Molly Malone’s, at Senayan.

Some of us guys should drop by those places this week to pay our respects to the opposite sex – ooops, gender!

I suppose you think it’s very droll to trivialize a day set aside to honor female achievement and promote the eradication of archaic gender roles.
You are quite deliberately mocking the purpose and symbolism of IWD.
Nobody concerned with equality is laughing with you but some of us are laughing at you, in particular your crude sexist imagery, which appeals only to neanderthal men like yourself..

Jupe Kurus? Mana Mungkin! Ayo, Neng, Makan – Aku Traktir!

One of the many good things about Indonesia is the beauty of the women. Most are pretty, many total knock-outs!

    ——————————

    •  seksi 7 icons_girl band indonesia_wallpaper
    • The 7 Icons girl band – seems a bit superfluous to identify them as a ‘girl band!’
    • And a lot of them know how to make the most of it.

Not least among those is Julia Perez, or Jupe, as you can see for yourselves.

    ——————-

    jupebum49

    —–

But now we read that she’s not been eating properly, after a serious bout of illness. She is quoted as describing herself as not just ‘skinny’ but as ‘skeletal!’

    This won’t do!

I’d be happy to treat her to a warteg meal, daily.

    ——-

    warteg

    ————–

At a dollar fifty a head, I can afford that, and she could help me as a teaching assistant with the free English class that the waitresses from time to time request.

    jupe

    —-

A week or two wolfing down their excellent heaping helpings of perkadel, nasi putih, dll, and Jupe will be back to her former buxom glory!
