Indonesia – Soft Sentences Sought for ISIS Rape-Gang Supporters!
What a joke…not!
======
Lengthy prison terms sought
for former IS fighters
It’s always hard to figure out the thinking at editorial level in the HQ of the Jakarta Post. An odd newspaper, the editorial line makes much of its pluralism, but it is owned by the collaborationist Gramedia clique, infamous for their Hitlerian book-burning…

….but whatever the background, what a ridiculous headline!
NB ‘Up to’ means even if they get the eight years, unlikely, given that those convicted of participating in the Cikeusik Pogrom got barely six months…
Victim of Islamist Murder Mob Gets Six Months in the Slammer
… the sappy remissions system here will see them unleashed in a lot less than that.
Why did the Law and Human Rights Ministry give remission to convicted terrorist Afif multiple times? – http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2016/01/26/fundamental-issues-counterterrorism.html …
And that Afif mentioned above? He was the swine caught on camera during the recent terrorist attack in downtown Jakarta!

“He [Afif] was qualified to receive the remissions because he showed good behavior while in prison…” Leniency leads to terror
ISIS and the other Islamist gangsters are engaged in wholesale slaughter of innocents, plus crimes against women and girls that have horrified the world.
Any dirty scumbag giving aid and comfort to such satanic outfits should be put up against a wall and riddled with bullets.

Yet we read in the JP that prosecutor Suroyo called on a panel of judges to sentence 47-year-old Tuah Febriwansyah, also known as Fachry, to eight years in prison and a fine of Rp 50 million (US$3,636) for distributing information on radicalism and encouraging people to join the IS movement online. http://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2016/02/03/lengthy-prison-terms-sought-former-is-fighters.html
I’m not having a go at Suroyo.
He’s no doubt measuring his call against what can reasonably be expected, given the appalling record in some courts here. Not just the Cikeusik case, though that’s probably the worst, but also what happened at Temanggung.
Nor am I having a go at Indonesia. To do so would be tantamount to ignoring the fatuous sentences meted out by some British courts. So Now Life Only Means FIVE BLOODY YEARS!?!
oooooooo
And let’s not even MENTION Sweden, where savage rapists are convicted then turned loose.. Crimmigrant Rape Gangs Get Green Light in Sweden!!
But even if courts don’t (as they don’t in the UK or Sweden) have access to capital punishment, or, as here in Indonesia, shrink from imposing it, surely to put terrorist supporters behind bars for anything less than life can hardly be defined as a ‘long sentence.’
